Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an entrepreneur and the president of Hontex GP, Lc, a digital vehicle retailer.
What challenge were you trying to address with Creek Software?
We needed their team to build and deploy custom digital tools and technologies to improve our customers’ shopping experience.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Over the course of our engagement, Creek Software has developed multiple custom software solutions to streamline our processes and improve our products. We usually kick off a project through a scoping phase — we work with their team in finalizing our design and functionality goals and compiling those into a comprehensive project plan. Some of the tools and technologies they’ve built over the years have enabled data integration, online payment, inventory management, and vehicle refinancing.
What is the team composition?
We work with a team of four resources, including Mauricio (CEO & Founder), who’s also our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Creek Software?
I met Mauricio through our mutual friends and eventually learned about his business. I initially asked for his assistance on some minor projects and decided to onboard his team when the opportunity arose.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $350,000–$400,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement with Creek Software commenced in April 2013.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Creek Software works proactively with our team to build progressive and timely solutions that elevate our digital presence and significantly expand our revenue. Their robust and functional deliverables allow us to launch our products on time and improve our customer experience. Building these software solutions is a long process that requires accuracy and dedication, and Creek Software always rises to that challenge.
How did Creek Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate via email, phone calls, and WhatsApp. Creek Software may be a small team, but they strategically allocate their time and resources to make things work for our business. Mauricio has wholeheartedly committed himself to this project, and to this date, he continues to make sure that each phase is well-managed and his team understands the urgency of our needs.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a senior software engineer at a healthcare company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Creek Software?
We need quality developers, and Creek Software provides them.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We give Creek Software the complete specifications of our projects, and they develop everything from there. The team also participates in our scrum calls while I assign tasks to them on Jira.
To give an example, one of our projects is a text messaging platform that enables patients to reach out to caregivers. It collects information from different providers and matches them with users. Apart from that, we’ve also developed a scheduling solution, which offers a lot of services to end users.
What is the team composition?
At most, we’ve worked with five developers at the same time. At the moment, we work with four developers, and if necessary, we also work with Creek Software’s owner.
How did you come to work with Creek Software?
We were trying to get quality developers. Since I previously worked with the owner of Creek Software, I reached out to him. Then, he told me that he had started his own outsourcing company — Creek Software — and that was where we started working together. We also chose them because they were near our timezone, with only two hours in time difference. On top of that, they also understood English well and had experience in the Microsoft tech stack.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $1 million.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in March 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Creek Software develops high-quality and maintainable code; that’s their biggest upside. Some of the developers they provide are better than the others, while some work faster. However, most of the time, they accomplish the tasks that we give them.
How did Creek Software perform from a project management standpoint?
In terms of time management, they work consistently ok. Creek Software uses Twilio, which is a popular developer messaging API service. They also use Fingercheck to get clock-in information. Meanwhile, we use Hubstaff, a time-tracking software that records screenshots for us to monitor the developers’ activities. We see how active the developers are and how many hours they collect. To communicate, we use Microsoft Teams, email, and Jira.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Creek Software is highly responsive, and we receive exceptional customer service. More importantly, we’ve had good-quality developers; in fact, some of them have worked for us for 2–4 years.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there isn’t anything major they need to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Whatever your expectations are, always know what you truly want between adaptability and experience. Some value experience over the ability to learn new things, while others don’t care about their experience as long as the developers can adapt. Tell Creek Software what types of developers you want based on those choices.
