Hello, I am KM Krishna Managing Director of Saravana Fibres Private Limited. This is a 10 year old Coconut Coir Manufacturing Industry. We manufacture Coconut Coir Fibre, 2 Ply Yarn , Curled Coir Rope, Coir Mattresses and Coir Garden Articles

We wanted an Inventory Management System, Sales and Purchase System and a Warehouse Management System ( in Phase 2 and going on)

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a system that could reduce the paper work reduce amount spent at desk and improve productivity We wanted a system that works both on native PC and also be in cloud for me able to operate smoothly We chose PHP and MySql for the system to work both on PC and as web app

How did you select this vendor?

Covent already did work for around 10 factories here and already in process of doing work for 17 more factories here. Covent is well known as Web Solutions and PC solutions provider since almost 5 years. So as a word of mouth and also after seeing their work and commitment we had chosen them

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

First we started with the Inventory Management System. We are using this for # Inventory Management # Customer Information # Purchases and Sales Data#Client Data# Vendor Data # Raw Material Management# Vehicle Repair# Repairs and Maintenance#Fuels and Spares Later we started the Warehouse Management system to manage our stocks and supplies. This work was completed quickly in almost 8 months. Recently we entered export market and started a chain of Warehouses. So we entered phase 2 of development. I would leave that in another review as it is a very different approach and idea

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a dedicated team of 4 developers, 1 testing person and 1 customer care team person. 1 Business development person was in touch on video call to discuss progress every week every 2 weeks BD person came to give demo progress.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Paper work has been reduced. my supervisor has no stopped sitting on table and spending time on work shift these days my production has increased and work efficiency also increased by 12% every month

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

1 BD person and 1 QA and 4 Developers and 1 Customer Care person was assigned the entireity of project. I am happy with the team and the way they calculated the timelines and also the way the project was launched 2 days prior to deadline

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Cost effective : 40% less than the other competitive products Productivity: Application working as planned no hiccups Performance is good

Are there any areas for improvement?

We wanted them to start a local office instead of remote support and they are already working on it to put up a local office

I wanted to streamline my raw material movement, vehicle tracks clients, vendors, supply chain. So I hired Covent to help us with the services. They have started and given us a working product within 6 months. Happy to have worked with them. So we have relaunch the phase 2 of the project now and we are implementing a few changes.

Streamline our work and reduce manual entries to avoid loss in capture of data. Keep a track of all the supply, inventory, raw material, vehicle movement, electrical supplies, machineries and accounting at a single click

They have given me an inventory Management system. Its functions Sales Purchases Raw material management Customer base management Vendor management Vehicle movement Machinery maintenance schedules Repair and maintenance Salaries module Warehouse Management systems first phase done to manage my warehouse that houses my production until it is shipped for domestic or export purposes Second phase started as we have implemented multiple remote warehouse as we entered export market.

They allocated a 5 member team for us dedicated and all very patient and understanding. We were sent a 1 person team to discuss montly updates on the project and changes and outcome

Reduced paper work manual labor involved Now my shift supervisor are free to actually run the factory effectively Production increased by 12% monthly

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It was very good 15 day schedule virtual meeting Personal visit by BD person every 30 days for the tenurity of 6 months Dedicate CC agent to address our issues.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They gave specific care for each and every client based on their line of business. Never been clubbed with others or made to wait for my query answered Cost effective and never after money to be paid on time. Understanding and cooperation is 1000%

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always scope of improvement for any company. If they open a small extension office here we local manufacturer would find it more feasible informed already and they are working on it
