The Business Problem

People love to go out and socialize, whether at bars, restaurants, concert venues, etc. But, it’s difficult to know what places are actually fun, and even harder to tell what places are fun right now. Anchor wanted to harness the droves of information individuals publish about themselves to social media networks and turn all that into an app that maximizes your night (or day) out.

 

The Result

Copper Mobile had the unappetizing assignment of fixing another developer’s mistakes, as well as repairing Anchor’s confidence in what a mobile partner ought to be. But Copper Mobile saw the promise in Anchor’s concept — and the potential of its founders — and knew we could bring their ideas to life in a beautiful, intuitive solution. Anchor, with Copper Mobile’s expertise and support, built an app that has changed the way people plan (and live) their social lives.

The Business Problem

Value Added Resellers’ (VARs) sales comprise a healthy percentage of Cisco’s revenue portfolio. This group needs to be efficient and successful in order to maximize Cisco’s profits. But, the UC320 product portfolio is complex, both for the VAR sales staff as well as the intended customer, small businesses. Cisco realized they needed a way to promote product fluency within their sales staff while at the same time providing them with a sales aide that could inform small business owners about the advantages of the UC320 product line without alienating those customers with overly technical jargon.

DASHBOARD APP: Making complex data actionable for Verizon's C-suite

The Business Problem

Verizon, as one of the largest corporations on the planet, produces mountains of internal data every day. If leveraged correctly, that data can give Verizon executives actionable intelligence to help them better do their jobs. Unfortunately, the C-Suite didn’t have mobile access to timely and usable data. They struggled to obtain key performance indicators for each business unit, and they could only access these KPIs via desktop or laptop computers. The user interface on this system was neither intuitive nor engaging and Verizon did not have the available internal development resources to tackle specific initiative. I am the founder and CEO of a trusted community marketplace to help millennials customize their hang-outs by choosing the best environment, music, and food for a delightful hangout experience. We aim to innovate a seamless design for hangouts to save users' time, money, and energy. We make the journey easier, faster and exciting.

For what projects/services did your company hire Copper Mobile?

We hired Copper Mobile to develop both our Android and iOS mobile applications. They also helped us build our early adopter website.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to build an MVP for the Android and iOS applications.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were searching for a development vendor and found their profile on Clutch. We had a word with Mr. Arvind Sarin [CEO,  Copper Mobile]. He is a super dynamic person with great entrepreneurial skills.

Describe the project in detail.

We had a kick-off meeting on basic product development, then moved on to prototyping, designing, coding, and finally publishing it on the Google Store as a beta launch. The entire team at Copper gave us a lot of help in all areas, ranging from ideation to development of important features.

What was the team composition?

The team included a Scrum master product manager, Android developer, iOS developer, backend developer, and a website developer. They also provided QA when needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've successfully built our MVP and launched the beta version to early adopters, who gave feedback and ideas on iterations needed for the product. Overall, the project goals were met by the Copper Mobile team.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was amazing. It was transparent in terms of the system they adopted for development, which was Jira. They worked as a team to give us tremendous infrastructure support for both product development and for our startup's development. All deliverables were met on time and were of great quality.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their culture and vision were impressive, along with the team's energy and enthusiasm. They are an American company working in India. The technicians' capabilities were great and gave us a complete startup-appropriate solution. They gave suggestions and ideas for product improvement as a strategy.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Mr. Sarin could spend some more time in India or appoint a more qualified head representative when he is not around.

It was to develop a mobile application related to homeowner associations.

Please describe the scope of their work.

It was all on the development side but there was some consulting as well. They came up with a demo app that I was able to use for investors. It was for the iPhone. They also created a series of investor pages, profiles, and other things relating to the industry.

What was your process for selecting Copper Mobile with which to work?

It was word of mouth. I asked a bunch of people in Texas whom I trusted and then I interviewed three different groups.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative in dollar terms or a personnel work-hour figure?

[It was from] $10,000 to $50,000

When was the work completed?

[It was] six months ago, so mid-2014.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?

Many users were very impressed with the application. They were good both with the design side of things and on the software side. We didn’t experience major bugs or downtime.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

I am very satisfied. 

Is there anything unique or special about Copper Mobile that really makes them stand out compared to other online marketing companies?

They are very good at communicating and very good at keeping to the time frame and budget.

What advice would you give to future clients of theirs?

I would recommend them. You need to make sure you’re on the same page with their team so everyone has a common understanding.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

I didn’t have any issues with them at all. I see no major areas for improvement.
