transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of a product management software for enterprises.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Copper Mobile?
We needed Copper Mobile’s web app development services. I was looking for developers, designers, and architects to help me build our MVP.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Copper Mobile has developed our MVP. I’ve given them the documentation of my vision and ideas, and then they’ve worked on a series of daily tasks. They use Bubble for prototyping, and the team has been involved in all design work. They’re also in charge of the development of the app and the subsequent addition of new features.
What is the team composition?
I’ve spoken to their CEO, and a project manager is engaged to manage the project. A developer and a designer are working with us.
How did you come to work with Copper Mobile?
I’ve known Copper Mobile for a while; I engaged them in the past in previous work positions.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested close to $35,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2022, and the engagement is ongoing. We expect to finish the project by December 2023.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t launched the MVP yet, so we don’t have any metrics available. However, I’m pretty satisfied with Copper Mobile’s work so far.
How did Copper Mobile perform from a project management standpoint?
We have daily calls with the developer and the project manager. We discuss what will be accomplished at a given time. In terms of tools, we use Google Spreadsheets to share documents.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve had a great working relationship with them. I always find them highly flexible and easy to work with — that distinguishes them from the rest.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. As a client, I always expect things to be faster, but Copper Mobile is doing pretty well.

A business consulting company hired Copper Mobile to develop a native Android and iOS app for their end client. The app allows hunters to tag animals. The team also trained the end client to update the app.
Copper Mobile built a high-quality app that exceeded the end client’s expectations and was well-received by the hunting community. Using the Agile methodology, the team integrated well with the client’s team, working in sync. Their responsiveness and flexibility to added requirements stood out.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director of Deloitte, one of the largest professional services firms. We have between 300,000–400,000 employees. I specialize in public service systems.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Copper Mobile?
Our company had a state government deal, and our internal team’s skill set in native mobile app design, delivery, and testing wasn’t as prevalent as we needed it to be. We hired Copper Mobile to fill a gap in our delivery team for this particular contract.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Copper Mobile designed and implemented a native mobile application for Android and iOS. We did the business analysis and screen designs on our side and gave the team a specification package. The package included the screens, the required business logic, and the APIs to deliver these services through the mobile app. They took that information, codified it, and developed design artifacts and software assets to implement business logic and exception handling.
The app helps hunters tag carcasses from their kills in Montana. The state is large and rural, and many people travel there to hunt and fish annually. Rather than using paper tags, the app allows hunters to digitally tag an animal they've put down in the field, so they don't have to carry additional items. They can also show field enforcement officers the barcoded tag on their phones. The field enforcement officer also has an app that can scan and validate the integrity of that tag.
The Copper Mobile team set up the client for a build server process during the transition period so they could take the baton from us once the contract was over. They trained the client to make changes to the app, build the code, upload it to the app stores, and walk through the development cycle.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 15–20 teammates from Copper Mobile.
How did you come to work with Copper Mobile?
We learned about them through one of our previous opportunities on the federal side of our business. When we were going through this project's analysis, we concluded that we needed a subcontractor based on the timelines and the availability of people. My peer suggested using Copper Mobile, so we engaged them and started conversations about the project's scope and resource availability. Ultimately, the stars aligned, and we were able to get Copper Mobile.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our collaboration started in April 2021. We had the first release in March 2022 and the second one with additional features in August 2022.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app Copper Mobile developed was received well by the hunting community. The hunters loved it, and so did our client, the governor of the state, the state CIO, and various other state leaders. Overall, the community saw the app as a nice value add.
Moreover, the outcome met our client's expectations and exceeded them. The app's quality was high, and Copper Mobile was extremely responsive to our needs when we needed to tweak something. We worked really long hours with them coming up to the first release. For my next native mobile application project, I would strongly consider using Copper Mobile again.
How did Copper Mobile perform from a project management standpoint?
They did well with project management. Their team is based in India, and we have an India-based team, too, which worked out extremely well for us. We connected our leads in India with theirs, and they would have daily calls using Agile-style communication. Both teams were in sync; when we were doing API work, they wore doing mobile work. We managed the project as a single team, so we had no real hiccups.
They delivered on time and within the budget. We had various channels of communication. For example, I could call their CEO directly if I needed to. Meanwhile, the integrated team collaborated using Microsoft Teams for shared files and Zoom for the daily stand-up meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Copper Mobile's strength was their responsiveness. Good partners need to be flexible and know when to grind things. In a typical client environment, vendors don't get all the requirements upfront; the client requests features later. We had ebbs and flows, and Copper Mobile understood the need to judge our success by the client's outcome. They were flexible in embracing new requirements and fixing things that weren't exactly right. Overall, they were a good integration and collaboration partner.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Any shop in the world could tweak things. However, we judge success by outcomes, and Copper Mobile achieved the outcome and was a good collaboration partner.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you define the scope of what you want, the timeline, the expectations, and the acceptance criteria needed so that both parties can agree. As long as you have a good agreement between two parties, everything should work, barring any personality conflicts.

Copper Mobile has helped a service provider design and develop a software piece to make an otherwise manual process efficient and scalable. The technology used includes Python, Node.js, Angular, CSS, and more.
The program developed by Copper Mobile has improved the client’s production by 20% during the pilot phase, and its design has exceeded expectations. The team is very communicative, collaborative, organized, and timely, and they excel at listening to clients to meet their needs.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the VP of Turnpoint Services, a multi-location service provider for residential and retail customers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Copper Mobile?
We had created a manual process that wasn’t scalable, so we needed Copper Mobile to convert it into a scalable software program.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, Copper Mobile interviewed us to clearly understand what we were looking for. Then, they created a clear scope of work and an execution plan, defining the development ecosystem and the technology stack for the project. After that, they assigned a dedicated team and a team leader to take over the project.
Within six months, Copper Mobile delivered a working prototype of the program. The next month, we went through final revisions and changes, and we then went into the beta testing phase. Later, we launched the pilot phase for using the product. We were so happy with their work that we’ve continued working with them for post-launch support since then.
For this project, the key technology stack includes Python, Node.js, GitHub, MySQL, Angular 9, HTML, and CSS. In addition to software development, Copper Mobile has also been in charge of the design work involved.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with a project manager and around eight other people from Copper Mobile, including UI/UX designers, business analysts, QA engineers, UI developers, backend API developers, and a couple of data scientists.
How did you come to work with Copper Mobile?
A member of our executive leadership team had worked with Copper Mobile on a prior project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in July 2021, and we had a working prototype by January 2022. We made changes in February 2022, did the beta testing in March 2022, and launched the pilot program in May 2022. Since June 2022, we have Copper Mobile on a yearly retainer contract for post-launch support and further development. Our goal is to continue improving the capabilities of our system.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Copper Mobile’s designs have exceeded our expectations. We’re still in the pilot phase, so we haven’t fully rolled out the program. Still, we’ve seen a 20% improvement in our production in the locations in which we’re using the program.
How did Copper Mobile perform from a project management standpoint?
Our engagement with Copper Mobile has run quite smoothly; they’re great communicators, and they’re very collaborative. Additionally, they’ve been outstanding listeners. From the start, they took our concepts and created the program we needed, as opposed to creating a concept themselves and trying to sell it to us.
Throughout the development process, they documented the timelines and deliverables, and we held weekly status meetings. Their team was always on time for those meetings, and they never canceled or rescheduled one. Additionally, they recorded those meetings, gave us access to the recordings, and provided us with overview feedback of each meeting. Additionally, we had daily interactions with their team members. We used Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and GitHub for communication and project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Copper Mobile has documented everything they plan to do, and they’ve done it without delay, which is impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’re very pleased with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Copper Mobile is a very capable organization, no matter how big or small the projects they work on are.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CIO of Primis Bank.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Copper Mobile, and what were your goals?
We wanted an app to deliver a brand new experience designed for both consumer and business banking customers at Primis. This app needed to match our new branch and allow our customers to easily request essential banking services.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We search for well know projects conducted by multiple vendors. Once paired down to our top 5 we conducted interviews to understand the approach of the development teams to understand their methodology. Copper Mobile was at the top of our list once we had the opportunity to speak with their project team leads.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We used a series of meetings and recurring calls to go from discovery to scope to agile development. The process included story boards, and customer experience flows. We utilized IOS and Android builds to deliver our app.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had a primary project manager, with team leads in the various areas during the project. Some specialists were brought in from time to time to handle specific tasks, but all personnel would still work under the PM.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to succesfully deliver the apps to a hand selected group of pilot testers on time. This allowed for a successful public launch after the completion of the pilot.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The entire team was readily available via a number of communcation channels. Email, video conferences, WhatsApp amongst others were used through out the project. I really appreciated the use of Figma to story board the app, and allow quick adjustments to the UI.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The combination of US and India resources allowed a good mix of skill, availability and speed that a global workforce can deliver. Issues had been handled overnight. We had been production-ready in morning on the east coast!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We did have a PM change mid-course, which did create an interuption. This wasn't the fault of Copper Mobile, as that task was immediately picked up by another super capable team member.

A full-service design-through-production company tapped Copper Mobile to step in and develop their website from scratch after their initial partner left the project.
The Copper Mobile team successfully launched the frontend. Though the platform initially experienced some bugs, the team diligently worked through them until they were all solved. There are some aspects that are still in development but the company is excited about their full launch.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner and Creative Director of Bell'INVITO Stationery and home. We are a full service design-through-production company for fine paper products and style accents.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Copper Mobile, and what were your goals?
We needed to recreate a website from scratch on a new platform that could grow with us. Copper Mobile helped us out of a very tough spot we were left in by a previous company who defaulted on the project. I was impressed by their promptness, organization, and overall can-do attitude.
SOLUTION
How did you select Copper Mobile and what were the deciding factors?
I interviewed at least 5 firms following a terrible default situation. Copper Mobile proved early on they were honest and stood by their work. Most of the other firms I interviewed wanted up front money and didn't commit to that paying for anything but time to try what they couldn't guarantee.
Copper Mobile proved they could solve the problem before they asked me for any sort of contract.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
There is way too much they have done in the course of the past 18 months or so to give all the details, but they have built and launched our new Magento website, implemented custom portions that are essential to our industry and unique to our business, and are in the process of upgrading our behind the scenes business-to-business platform that is the backbone of our very intricate custom order intake system.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
More have jumped in to help if needed, but primarily: Rupak, co-founder / CEO Manish, project manager Anil, Navneet, Varun, programming
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our consumer-facing site was launched beautifully. As is typical, bugs popped up and the team diligently problem-solved to get past the issues. The busines-to-business portion is still in the works. We are pleased with the progress and looking forward to a launch in the upcoming weeks.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
The operate in sprints and we liked that it clearly set deadlines for both parties. They have always been on top of communications, even through this past year of uncertainty.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their positive attitude, knowledge base, and transparency are impressive. I appreciated that they were willing to help us learn to be self-sufficient in troubleshooting so our small business could be practical in saving money on issues we could learn to resolve internally.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Communication can always improve. Timing can always improve. I'm very happy with their work and would both hire them again and would (and have) recommend them.

Copper Mobile dedicated lead resources with significant technical capabilities, enabling the team to successfully deliver the platforms with critical features. They effectively implemented feedback and facilitated a productive engagement. Their valuable expertise ensured successful collaboration.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a UX designer for a mobile banking company. We provide debit card services to customers of various large brands in addition to our own products.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Copper Mobile?
We had an ambitious project to complete in a condensed timeline and needed additional development capacity.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Copper mobilized a team of about 20 people in short order to help us meet our goal of building a new app with a new code framework. They used Swift to build the iOS platform and Kotlin to develop the Android version.
Their team conceived of and created the engine behind the theme functionality, making the entire UI customizable at a click of a button. This process involves managing assets and global configurations as well as switching core elements on the fly while the user engages the app.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 10–12 developers across both platforms, 5–6 QA people, one development lead on each side, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Copper Mobile?
The engagement was secured by another member of my team who also handled all of the negotiations.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $1 million on their development and UX resources combined.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in June 2019, and it’s ongoing. We’re currently working with their UX team in addition to lingering development resources.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their two development leads stood out in their abilities to conceive of this theme functionality from scratch. We didn’t have the talent in house to create that feature.
How did Copper Mobile perform from a project management standpoint?
We use JIRA and Confluence to manage tasks. Throughout the development, Copper kept stories moving down the pipeline. Their team took our input and then turned it into the output we expected.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Given our location and industry, we don’t necessarily have the first pick of developers. Copper provided us with access to bright talent that we wouldn’t have otherwise had on the project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I didn’t feel that there was a sense of direct ownership of the project throughout the entire development team. There were certain people on the team who were highly engaged and personally took on challenges.
Other people on the team were happy to let stories slide. There could be more dedication and personal ownership among all of the developers.

Copper Mobile built the e-commerce store of a B2B and B2C handmade bridal manufacturer. The team also built iOS and Android applications—endowed with AR capabilities—to expand the client's digital reach.
Copper Mobile has exhibited an amazing approach to app development. While the project is still underway, the AR models they've provided has already helped the client secure more clients — all during the pandemic, which is even more impressive. Their team is skilled, proactive, and communicative.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
My name is Gaurav Henry, and I am the co-founder at Hindistandukkan.com, an e-commerce platform exclusively for handcrafted bridal wear. We are based out of Turkey and have manufacturing units in India. We create bespoke handcrafted fabrics and bridal wear.
Most of our clients are bridal wear manufacturers/stores-owners who are looking for high-quality handmade fabrics, appliques, and gowns for their retail stores. Currently, we supply to some top designers/manufacturers like Adi Shlomo (Israel, US, Hongkong), Slanovsky (Ukraine) just to name a few.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Copper Mobile?
We hired Copper Mobile to build our E-commerce and AR mobile app to showcase and sell our products better to our target audience.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal is to expand our outreach. Right now we on top of the search engines in Turkey for our focus keywords "handcrafted bridal wear", however, we want to expand more to the US market.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We checked the ranking on Clutch and reached out to the top developers in Dallas( As we are opening our stores there). After speaking with 5-6 vendors, we decided to go with Copper Mobile
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Copper Mobile helped us build our iOS and Android applications, both B2B and B2C. It's an ongoing engagement, where for the next 2 years they would be building our AR capabilities as well.
Owing to the pandemic Arvind from Copper Mobile recommended us to build AR apps instead of investing in brick and mortar stores, which was a valuable suggestion. Not only are they helping us with adoption of technology, but also helping us fine-tune our strategy.
What was the team composition?
We hired 4 developers, (2 Android. 2 iOS), 1 Quality Analyst, 1 Business Analyst, 1 Project Manager
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
So far we have been amazed by Copper Mobile's excellent approach towards building our app. Our app is still under development, however, the AR models created by Rupak and his team helped us secure more clients in this pandemic! It created a lot of opportunities for us to reach out to prospects when everything was shut down!
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Our project manager is Pankaj. He's always promptly on a call with our team every day. They call it the SCRUM call. It's good to have an overview of what's happening as daily activities and gives us valuable insights.
One of our managers gets updated about daily activities and progress through software called JIRA. So far we have an excellent idea of the tasks which have been accomplished and the ones which are planned for the next Sprint.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Copper Mobile's team is awesome, especially the leadership team. Rupak, Arvind, Manish are very proactive in giving us insights and letting us know about the development.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We found our perfect technology partners! They gave us more than we asked for!
