In-Progress… This tiered beauty sits nestled into a gentle slope lending opportunities for a garden level walkout and 3 usable floors above. Additional roof deck walkouts are provided at the main level kitchen and master bedroom.

Wanderlust Eyecare is a boutique optometry & eyewear shop that aims to parallel the transcendent feeling we experience while traveling, exploring, and discovering the new.

Customers are welcomed into an open, flowing space, thoughtfully composed to encourage the exploration of imported eyewear and accessories. The entrance offers visitors an immediate glimpse of quality product showcased on suspended, handcrafted White Maple wood-shelving. Corresponding wood louver ceiling joists line the corridors where the floating shelves emerge from.

Drawing inspiration from the Israel-based open market, the “LaShuk” experience will evoke the same sense of homegrown craftsmanship and genuine family-like hospitality found in the original shops. An arrangement of industrial materials, Middle-Eastern tile-work, and raw natural elements will be modernized into a cohesive & comforting palette. The architecture will be complimented by substantial décor elements that contribute to the authentic experiences had while traveling through the market with friends & family to shop, graze, and absorb the culture.

A design proposal for a Wilmette based coffee shop’s new flagship roastery & bakehouse. Coorlas Architecture was commissioned to develop new branding and identity design along with a customer experience that would immerse visitors in the Alchemy philosophy. A hint of earthy tones play off a glossy futuristic palette to evoke an emergent set of feelings balanced between familiarity and otherworldliness.

Located in Northfield, IL this home addition and renovation project features a single slope roof and lofty interior spaces. Extra-Large picture windows at the second level are elevated for privacy and maximize daylighting into the space. The simple architectural forms, paired with a timeless material palette give this design a casually elegant styling.
