Here are a few of the particulars about how The Content Company came to be. As a company, we’re a relatively new player in the world of content creation, but behind the scenes we have a couple decades’ worth of experience and fine-tuning.

We had a full-service marketing agency in the GTA for a few years around 2006. That was a tremendous learning experience and certainly set the tone for what we are doing now. After moving on from that venture, TCC Content Manager Ken started life as a freelance writer and President Cara took a position with one of the larger SEO companies in Canada.

A few years went by and we each learned everything we could about the world of online marketing and content creation. Eventually, we realized it was time to get back into it, only this time with a singular focus on one element of the marketing puzzle.

We believe in providing the highest quality content for our clients, that will satisfy search engines and speak to the humans that you want to buy your products and services. If you can’t please both, you’re in trouble.

We also believe that you shouldn’t have to mortgage your house just to have a quality website content or regular blog posts that will help to grow your client’s business. That’s why we provide content to our clients that is reasonably priced.

We rely on the Content Company to help fulfill the content marketing needs of our clients. We work with them to create up to 10 blog articles per month at times. We've also used them to write new website pages as well.

What was the team composition?

One of the great things about the Content Company is that once you turn in your content order, you get an immediate confirmation with a contact. At that point, you can actual communicate with a human if the scope of work changes or you discover a new resource you'd like to pass along. And they use that confirmation to ask questions if some of the input isn't as clear as it could be.

They don't just take your input and go with it if they have a way to enhance it or make things clearer for the writer. Then Content Company matches the need with the writer and ensures it gets delivered back to me on time. I don't have to think about it once I submit my order. They really take ownership.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've created highly successful content marketing as shown in our clients' SEO reports. They consider and utilize the keywords we provide in our order to maximize the searchability of the piece while not losing the readability as well.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I appreciate the workflow with the Content Company. Our blog posts and webpages have a two week turnaround time. It is consistent and reliable. We plan our project timelines on this.

This relationship helped us shift to a very proactive content marketing production which has been good for us and our clients. I also appreciate that when I have received pieces and had questions or needed clarification on sections, they respond in a timely manner so things do not get caught up in a bunch of back and forth.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The communication and consistency. In an industry where things are changing constantly, my confidence in the Content Company is something I rely on. It gives me one less thing to follow up on or worry about. Once I submit the project, I know it will be taken care of.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The ordering can feel a bit wonky when you first start. You need to prepay with a gift card and then redeem as you order your pieces. Once you get the hang of it and create a system for yourself, it works itself out.

I am amazed that they can write about any topic I have sent them. I completely trust them to the point that I don't even need to proofread the content anymore - I know it's going to be good.

They have designed their system to work for marketers like myself. I simply send them my topic, bullet points, and keywords, and ten days later I have a perfect article. I like that they use Google Docs also. I often will draft up my topic bullet points and share with them directly via Google Docs.
