What challenge were you trying to address with The Content Advocates?

We were just starting our company. However, in Nigeria, law firms can’t advertise due to regulations. Therefore,  we needed to find a way to market ourselves without breaching any regulations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Content Advocates has helped us with our marketing. Given that we can’t advertise our business, they’ve helped us develop a strategy to change our approach to content marketing. As part of this strategy, they’ve taught us how to change our writing style. As lawyers, we tend to write in a very serious and formal tone. However, they’ve made our messaging more user-friendly to target real customers and not fellow lawyers. 

In addition to that, The Content Advocates has helped us with SEO and keyword research. They’ve provided us with a list of the keywords most searched for by clients in our practice area, and they’ve taught us how to use those keywords seamlessly in our articles.

How did you come to work with The Content Advocates?

When we were looking for a partner, we wanted to find someone who could help us with marketing but not advertising. We reached out to them and a couple of other vendors, and The Content Advocates seemed to understand what we needed.

We started working with them in May 2021, and our engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to The Content Advocates’ SEO support, our ranking on search results has improved. Additionally, the demand for our services has increased by 60% after implementing their content marketing strategy.

How did The Content Advocates perform from a project management standpoint?

The Content Advocates has been able to meet all of our deadlines. We communicate via email, text messages, Zoom meetings, and Google Meet meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Content Advocates’ flexibility is impressive. Initially, they had come up with a different strategy, but we didn’t feel it was suitable for us because it still had some elements that breached our regulations. However, they kept adjusting it, and they made changes whenever we felt something was too risky for us. Additionally, their approach to marketing is outstanding; they create non-traditional marketing strategies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if The Content Advocates focused more on their own visibility. People who haven’t worked with them before don’t know how good their services are.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The Content Advocates does their job beautifully. Be open to new ideas and a non-traditional approach.

After the first meeting where we explained our legal constraints to marketing, they came up with a go-to-market strategy and a content marketing strategy. The content marketing strategy included creating a blog - the content advocates, building a customer persona for our practice areas, brand design and tone, wrote our website copy and the marketing copies for our various social media handles, identified websites where we could insert backlinks and identified keywords that could help all of our articles rank on the first page for certain results on google. They came up with a guide for how all our articles and marketing copies should look. We implemented the strategies and we realised that within 3 months of implementation, there was an astronomical increase in the number of clients that reached out for our services

Being a startup, we hired The Content Advocates to handle our digital branding and go-to-market strategy. Our goal is to get enough eyes on our value proposition at this early stage.

They were referred to us, and we chose them based on the team and founder's experience working with tech startups.

We had a series of meetings for them to fully understand our goals. After then, they put together a comprehensive 6 months go-to-market strategy. Other deliverables included setting up our social media pages and blog, developing articles and boosting our SEO.

After just one article, our landing page jumped from #79 million to #47 million on Ahref rank.
