Branding, Web Design & Dev for Historic Community Theater

"Their team responds to my messages promptly — I get responses to any questions I have within a few hours."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the project coordinator at a historic community theater in London, Ontario.
What challenge were you trying to address with Consensus Creative?
We needed to redesign our website to achieve our company goals.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Consensus Creative designed and developed our website; they also helped establish branding guidelines. While working with them, we outlined our company goals and the image of our company as a historic landmark. It was essential to us that the visuals of our historic building be incorporated into the website design. Our site requirements included functions to facilitate increasing our patrons through ticket sales, donations to our nonprofit, and membership sign-ups. We also needed the site to be easy to navigate.
Consensus Creative's worked closely with us to develop a work plan; their team made platform recommendations. Once we finalized the plan, Consensus Creative designed the website, implementing the requested elements and assets. The design included photos, videos, and content that captured our mission.
Since our theater volunteers took over the site, Consensus Creative has provided video tutorials and manuals outlining how to use the site. Consensus Creative now serves as a consultant — they help us make site updates that reflect our playbill.
What is the team composition?
I worked with the project manager.
How did you come to work with Consensus Creative?
I found Consensus Creative through a referral but reached out to several companies. In the end, based on their approach and our goals, we hired Consensus Creative.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested $7,000–$14,000 with Consensus Creative.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Consensus Creative began in November 2021, and it's ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website has launched recently, so we're still establishing quantitative metrics. However, when I surveyed the individuals who previewed the site, we had 97%–98% approval. We've also seen an 85% increase in website logins.
How did Consensus Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Consensus Creative has been excellent at communicating through Zoom meetings, email, text messages, and phone calls. Their team promptly responds to my messages — I get responses to any questions I have within a few hours. I always have a centralized point of contact.
Their team has provided me access to website previews throughout the project so I can see the changes and development as the project progresses. Consensus Creative also communicates project content through Google Docs — I've been able to submit comments via Google Docs and have them replied to quickly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Consensus Creative has fully invested themselves in determining who we are as a theater company and our goals. The extensive detailing they've done throughout the project, highlighting everything from our primary to secondary goals and appearance, has been profound.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing for Consensus Creative to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I'd advise customers to immediately begin working with the workbook Consensus Creative provides because it establishes the customer's vision and aligns it with the work being performed by the designer. This tool helps the client and designer built the framework, content and branding goals of the website. The workbook comment section offered an effective way of detailing important development information.

Toronto Arts Academy (Web Design & Development)
Toronto Arts Academy is a top-rated arts school with the most awards in the GTA region. Producing top 10 artists like The Weekend, the academy produced countless performers across Canada and the US.
The website's design was carefully crafted to get visitors to submit an inquiry, according to all the conversion psychology design techniques. After relying for years on Google and Facebook ads for new leads, the redesign increased the site's Google ranking and increased conversions by over 450%, removing the need for the marketing team to spend money on ads! This means more net profit for the academy without any additional work, directly as a result of the website re-design.
The project was an astounding success and resulted in further work, redesigning the website singersedge.com (academy's sister brand).

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO, managing director, and owner of a sealcoating company called Sealcoating Kingdom.
What challenge were you trying to address with Consensus Creative?
We had an existing website, but we wanted to build a new one that would be more attractive to current and potential customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Consensus Creative has built a new website for us from scratch. In the beginning, we gave them some information about our existing site and discussed what features wanted on the site and how we wanted it to look. From there, they proceeded with the process, handling both the development and design work. They implemented the features we requested, including a customer information form, and created a mock-up of the homepage. They also wrote a lot of content for our site.
Their team has already completed the site, but we continue to work with them in implementing any changes or updates that we need.
What is the team composition?
We primarily work with Art (Founder & Creative Director).
How did you come to work with Consensus Creative?
We found them through a Google search. We approached several different companies, but we decided to work with Consensus Creative because they seemed to be the most suitable partner for our project after interviewing them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since December 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It’s too early to share any specific metrics, but our new website is starting to make a huge impact in our industry — in fact, some of our competitors have become nervous after taking a look at our site. We’ve also had 4–5 different suppliers ask us where we had our site built.
How did Consensus Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
All deliverables have been completed on time, and Consensus Creative has hit every project milestone. We’ve worked with several different companies before but working with their team is probably one of the best experiences we’ve ever had.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Consensus Creative has been really involved in our project; they treat it as if it’s their own, which is something we greatly appreciate. They’re also very professional.

I’m the owner of a denture office. We make dentures directly for the public.
What challenge were you trying to address with Consensus Creative?
We wanted to get more leads; we were having problems with the company we were using.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Consensus Creative has redesigned our website and constructed a completely new site from start to finish. They’re also doing SEO work and monthly maintenance on the site.
What is the team composition?
They must have other people working behind the scenes, but we’ve only worked with Art (Owner, Web Designer & Developer).
How did you come to work with Consensus Creative?
I found them on Kijiji.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $7,000 CAD (approximately $5,100 USD) so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2022, and it’ll be an ongoing partnership.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been happy with everything Consensus Creative has done. If we had to start over, we’d definitely use them again.
How did Consensus Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve delivered everything on time. During development, Consensus Creative’s team booked weekly video calls to keep us updated. We also received emails almost daily until they completed the site so we could know what was going on.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We were a little leery about using somebody who wasn’t in the same province as our office, but it hasn’t made a difference at all. Everything has been seamless.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We just finished the site, so it’s hard to say.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Home-Soft Water Solutions, a water treatment company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Consensus Creative?
We were upgrading our website and decided to try a new approach to our online presence, so we looked for a professional company to help us out.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Consensus Creative has helped us upgrade our website. Initially, we decided to start fresh and build the website from the ground up, so they started with a blank canvas and gave us a lot of options. Then, they walked us through all the information, after which they came up with a multipage website showing our product, services, and information.
Among our main requirements, this website had to be informative and show our product in a good light. Moreover, we requested it to be user-friendly, culturally friendly, and engaging so that people wanted to keep on reading its information.
Currently, Consensus Creative is working on upgrading the site and adding more information to it. We also plan to retain them for future projects. For example, we’ll do another product launch, and we want Consensus Creative to be part of that project.
What is the team composition?
I’ve primarily worked with Art (Founder & Creative Director) and a couple of his associates, who have helped him with the graphic design work. Art has been my main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Consensus Creative?
We found them online. When I started looking for companies, I narrowed down our options to a few companies that looked promising, including Consensus Creative. I then read all of Consensus Creative’s reviews and chose them based on their background and previous projects.
Additionally, after having a couple of Zoom meetings, we really liked Art’s professional demeanor. When it came to answering my questions, he was very approachable and informative and had a very professional approach to his business, so I really liked those values.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $10,000. However, that amount will increase once we expand our engagement.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started conversations around October 2022, and I decided to start the project in November 2022. Our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since launching the site, we’ve seen an increase in our business of at least 30%. Thus, I anticipate that our website will perform really well in the future. As general feedback, Consensus Creative was very helpful in defining and taking care of our demographics and customer base, so we were very pleased with the outcome.
After finishing the site, we sat down with our team and went through the website. We also invited suppliers to give us their feedback and got an outstanding response all around. The product speaks for itself, so we’re definitely moving in the right direction with Consensus Creative.
How did Consensus Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Consensus Creative has delivered everything on time. Initially, we defined the launch deadline for the first week of 2023, and we met that deadline. Overall it was smooth sailing throughout the whole development process due to their customer service approach.
On top of that, Consensus Creative has been very responsive to issues as they arise, as well as very patient in waiting for my decisions — I’ve never felt pressured. One of their key strengths has been communication; they’ve been able to communicate what’s necessary to get the job done.
On top of that, Art has kept me informed almost daily on the progress and the decisions that he makes. Even after hours, we have conversations. I don’t know many companies that offer that level of service.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I can’t say enough good things about Consensus Creative. We’re a service-based company; still, we’ve been very impressed with their customer service. They’ve gone out of their way to make this project as educational and inspirational as possible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I wish Art could move their office to my warehouse! We work together wonderfully.

We are a nonprofit settlement agency that helps newcomers to Canada and I am the Settlement Worker for the newly funded project
For what projects/services did your company hire Consensus Creative, and what were your goals?
The project is to provide services to newcomer families with young children and children with special needs and we hired Consensus Creative to develop a new website for the project so to help to attract more inquiries of services.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I found this vendor from Clutch as it was already on the top of the ranking at the moment, and after the initial and proposal call, I was convinced by the agency's professionalism and expertise. Besides, the quotation is reasonable and fit our budget.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
First we would have initial meetings to discuss the design and functionality, then the developer sent us the worksheet to collect website content and to track the progress of the project. The first draft of logo design and stationary design would be sent to us for adjustment and finalization. Same for the website, the homepage design would be sent first, and once it was approved, the full site development will be finished. The type of the website is WordPress.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I have been working directly with the Founder & Creative Director Art for the whole website development phase, and the communication part of the logo and stationary design.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Deliverables are on time and meet the expectations. The design of the website is much more polished and aesthetically pleasant than the previous one, with the up to date functionalities.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The website development process is smooth and well organized. The communication is clear and efficient, with the flexibility of email communication, calls, and virtual meetings depends on the need and the purpose of the communication.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was impressed with how prompt they responded to our requests and questions throughout the development phase, and the director's expertise and up to date knowledge of the industry, plus the creative and effective problem solving skills are definitely unique.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
At this moment, I am very satisfied with the work experience with Consensus Creative without critical feedback for improvement.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the president of a new mathematics education company dedicated to helping children with school mathematics. We use evidence-based teaching methods in conjunction with frequent assessments to track and respond to changes in students' learning growth over time.
For what projects/services did your company hire Consensus Creative?
We engaged Leadavalon to design a webpage for MathMeasure. From the very beginning we wanted the webpage to appeal to two main audiences: parents and their school-age children; and, potential instructors who might be interested in joining the company.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We approached local post-secondary institutions and local IT companies seeking potential designers. Among the first, was a local company who explained they were not interested in helping us but they knew someone who might. They put us in touch with Art (Leadavalon). At first, he felt the job might be a bit too small for him but the educational focus of MathMeasure was attractive as he had previously owned an online tutoring business in Ontario. Art impressed us with his knowledge of web design but also his awareness of unique challenges in such businesses. In a nutshell, selection criteria for us was based on:
- expertise in web design;
- knowledge about online educational services, preferably mathematics
- knowledge about marketing, website language, editing etc.
- eagerness to discuss ideas and ways that Leadavalon could best address our ideas
- willingness to provide ongoing support and advice through the design phase
- willingness to negotiate cost.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The project was a website design from scratch. Art at Leadavalon lead the process:
1. He provided a series of mark-up sheets with suggested headings that were based on conversations with us about our vision.
2. We went back and forth with Art, making suggestions, editing passages that were too long or awkward, deleting superfluous content, and adding things that we felt should be included or that Art thought was missing.
3. After about a week or so, Art gave us a link to a mock-up of the webpage that we could edit at will. We engaged the mock-up, adding material at times convenient for us.
4. During this time, there were occassions when I contacted Art to for advice or assistance. He was always very responsive, lending support for notions he thought added to the project but, more importantly, he forthrightly objected when he thought notions did not much add value. Throughout, the project was a collaborative effort.
5. We had a logo designed by another contractor and as soon as the final images were available, Art modified the webpage so that colours and page design were in harmony with the logo artwork.
6. At the conclusion of the project, Art have us access and included explanatory videos and documents in case we wished to make changes down the road.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We only worked with Art
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
A number of clients were able to reach us through the site. Some have commented about the ease with which they were able to find the information they needed to make decisions about contacting us.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Art is a very personable man. He always responded in a timely manner and provided advice and assistance that we found very helpful. We had some trouble managing our own deliverables on occasion because, as Art pointed out, we had to significantly hone our own ideas to fit within marketing framework.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
In our experience, Leadavalon revolved around the energy and responsiveness of Art. Their manager enthusiastically engaged our ideas and vision to create a website we are very proud of.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Sometimes it is difficult to shoehorn ideas into a marketable concept to establish a business identity. It is a transformative process. A little more time at the beginning to teach marketing newbies would never go awry.

HGM Consulting Corp. is a Canadian consulting firm that operates on a turn-key project basis in the Americas, Eastern Europe, Central & East Asia. Our company provides consulting support services along with access to its international network of private investors. At the time I was on the advisory board.
For what projects/services did your company hire Consensus Creative, and what were your goals?
We hired Consensus Creative to design and develop our website, hgmconsulting.ca. They also assisted us with graphic design and making our brochures.
How did you select Consensus Creative and what were the deciding factors?
We selected Consensus Creative to design our site based on a number of references we received from their clients. We considered multiple providers and after a month of searching for the right agency, we decided to go with Consensus, just because they were the best ones. We were inclined to hire them due to their experience, portfolio and reviews.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The first step in the process was a strategy call. The staff at Consensus then setup our web server, domain name, etc. and we began writing the content for our website. This took a few weeks to finalize. Then the website design process began, which was completed within a month, mostly we spent time on revisions.
How many people from the Consensus Creative team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have worked with the owner of the agency as well as their graphic designer, in total two people. They were helpful and accommodating to our requests.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our new website is our digital brochure. It attracts clients, tells leads about our services, and shows who we are to our stakeholders. This is now an invaluable resource to our company, as this is where most of our clients contact us and where they learn about our services. We have only heard good comments about the website.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The project management style was very effective – the work was completed in a timely manner, the staff was available to take phone calls quickly. We enjoyed working with them.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Recently I started minting my works as NFTs. I needed a website where people can mint the NFTs (buy them from me) as well as see my past works and what I'm working on at the moment.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I selected Consensus Creative because I knew another client that had used them, and had great results.

The project consisted of two parts - the web site design and development, and the NFT part (integration of wallets). Consensus Creative took care of both of these parts. The entire process took a few weeks.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Art from CC worked with me, as well as his blockchain developer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The outcome was that now I have an amazing new website, where people can see and buy my work from me using crypto.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was very effective, and efficient. Everything was done fairly quickly and it was very easy for me to make revisions by clicking anywhere on the website.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The quality of their work was impressive. Also, they consulted me on how to best approach marketing my website and my work. They didn't charge me for this, so that was a nice surprise.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I think they're perfect.
