Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the IT manager at TerraLex, a network of law firms. We help firms from different countries collaborate.
What challenge were you trying to address with ComboApp?
Our members travel a lot, and they mentioned that our site could be slow at times. We decided to make an app that would provide data offline.
What was the scope of their involvement?
ComboApp designed and developed our app for iOS and Android. They added data to it, and they’re providing hosting for the app.
It provides information on all our member firms for users looking for law services, and it also hosts our podcast. Based on user feedback, we’re working on some additional features.
What is the team composition?
Dmitry (Director of Strategy Consulting) was the project manager. They had a design team, marketing team, developers, and testers. There were at least five people involved in our project.
How did you come to work with ComboApp?
I found a few app development companies online, and I called each one. After talking to Dmitry, he walked me through their services and ensured me that he’d be around even after the project ended.
They weren’t the least expensive option, but I liked their team and past work.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $55,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with ComboApp in February 2020, and the app was launched in July. We ended up making some changes, but everything was done by September 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
ComboApp did everything they promised. Our members are downloading the app, and they love its design and functionality. We plan to add more features in 2021.
If our website goes down, I can redirect members to our app, which is helpful.
How did ComboApp perform from a project management standpoint?
Dmitry was outstanding. He was always available, getting back to me within the same day anytime I reached him.
We worked together a lot, and he consulted with his team to find the most efficient options in terms of time and cost. They were very flexible, and they did exactly what they told us they would.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their team was always available.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Their prices could be a little more reasonable, but I’m satisfied with their overall services.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
With any provider, it’s important to make sure that they understand the scope of the project. The client should have a complete plan from the start.
ComboApp has design and marketing teams, and they can do a lot of work, so I suggest having a conversation with them.

Please give a brief description of your company.
Happy Diamond Music Studios is a multimedia company specializing in creating educational stories for young children. We use music and lyrics to bring meaningful stories to life, Happy Diamond Music Studios seeks to educate children through engaging stories about nature and our threatened environment.
What is your role at the company?
I am the founder of Happy Diamond Music Studio Limited.
What was the business challenge and goal that you were trying to address when you approached ComboApp?
As an independent app developer, Happy Diamond has very limited resources to promote and market our apps. Our primary business focus is music production and creating educational stories for children. Everything outside of that scope we must subcontract to other entities.
Can you talk about the scope of the project?
Kakamega the Rainforest Musical app is our first e-book and can be found on IOS. At the moment, we are developing our second app, which will be released across all platforms: Androids, IOS, and Windows. The scope of our project was developing a marketing plan for these apps because we needed to increase visibility, traffic flow and, ultimately, the amount of downloads our app received.
What was your process for selecting ComboApp with which to work?
Our selection process for a mobile app marketing partner was fairly informal. We conducted our due Internet research. Read any available reviews of the services provided. Lastly, we compared prices with what those companies promised to deliver. ComboApp fit best with our business goals and price range.
Can you give us a sense of the size of the project in dollar terms or personnel work hours?
We spent about $70,000 on the project in total. The $70,000 is for app development, app graphics, and our mobile app marketing campaign.
When was the project completed?
Our app was launched on IOS in March of 2014 and we have continued to partner with ComboApp since then for our app marketing needs.
When working with them, was there anything unique or special about them compared to other companies with which you may have worked? It’s always refreshing when a company delivers what they promise. We saw an increase in traffic, downloads, and reviews. This made ComboApp special to me.
Looking back on the project, is there any area that they could improve upon or that you would do differently?
The only constructive suggestion I have would be for them to include more data analysis in their marketing efforts.

Please describe your company.
We work in the educational field and began offering educational products in 2012 for children in the age range of two to six years.
What is your role and responsibilities?
My title is business development manager.
What was your goal for working with ComboApp?
Our main goal for working with ComboApp was to have a better overall brand rather than just quick initial app downloads. I wanted them to focus their mobile app marketing efforts in a way where it would have a much more lasting impact in terms of brand value.
Please describe the scope of their work.
In terms of the product they were marketing for us, it was an educational game for young children. At this point, this product is our most sought-after and most downloaded product.
There were three main services they provided to us. They marketed five podcasts for us that they had reviewed and featured by eight to ten different education mobile application blogging sites. In addition to our podcasts, they ran a month long Facebook campaign. Lastly, they modified the game description to have better keywords and ensured that it was optimized for the Google index.
What was your process for selecting ComboApp with which to work?
We partnered with ComboApp via Intel because we had previously collaborated with Intel. Intel was working to promote their Android tablets. They hired ComboApp to support us in order to increase visibility for our application.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
The whole campaign was in between $10,000 and $20,000.
When was the project completed?
The project started in December of 2013 and completed in February of 2014.
Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
I found them thoroughly professional. If we demanded something from them that was going to disturb the whole ecosystem of our campaign, they politely informed us that they were fine with the demand, but always offered how it could negatively impact the brand. They made sure we understood the full scope of the marketing campaign.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?
I would re-orient the focus of the campaign a bit more around SEO [search engine optimization] activities and less around social media marketing. I just see SEO increasing visibility more for the long term.
Members are pleased with the look and feel of the app. The client plans to add more functionalities within the new year. The team at ComboApp is flexible, efficient, and skilled. Their availability makes them stand out from other providers.
