Our goal was to optimize their day-to-day business operations by developing a comprehensive CRM software suite. This suite included hybrid iOS and Android mobile applications that enabled field surveyors to create new customer profiles, conduct property surveys, and submit insurance claims data. 

Additionally, we built an administrative web application that provided a detailed view of all customer applications for field surveyors, as well as allowed company managers to access various data points, visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) through analytics, manage user accounts, and monitor progress on insurance claims. Furthermore, we developed a user-facing website to attract more customers to the company.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As with all custom software development projects, we began by offering our Discovery phase package to our Company. This package provided project management and scoping services, enabling us to collaboratively plan and design different features while obtaining the customer’s approval at each stage before proceeding with development. 

To address the requirements, we opted for the Flutter framework to develop a hybrid mobile app that functioned seamlessly on both iOS and Android platforms. For the backend APIs, we used Node.js and Express.js, with Postgres serving as the database. The administrative panel was developed using React.js, providing an intuitive and user-friendly interface for managing the system efficiently. Lastly, we leveraged WordPress to create an attractive and effective customer-facing website. 

To ensure optimal performance and scalability, we hosted all the services on AWS, providing a reliable and robust infrastructure for our Company’s software suite. By successfully implementing these solutions, our Company was equipped with a streamlined and optimized business process, enabling them to provide enhanced services to their clients, manage data efficiently, and attract more customers through their user-friendly website.

The initial challenges we encountered revolved around understanding our Company’s day-to-day business processes concerning property valuation, loss surveying, and insurance claims submission. This step was crucial as it helped us design various features, create user interfaces for different user levels, and offer valuable recommendations to our client. 

Fortunately, our experienced technical project manager demonstrated exceptional skill in comprehending their business model, gathering requirements, and meticulously planning and documenting agreed-upon features before the development phase commenced. Another significant challenge arose when designing the hybrid mobile app to ensure it functioned efficiently offline without any data loss. 

Our Company anticipated that their surveyor employees in the field might face limited internet coverage or even no connectivity at all. Therefore, it was critical for us to design a solution that allowed surveyors to enter survey data, save it in the local database on their phones when offline, and automatically synchronize the data with the cloud server once an internet connection was restored. This seamless synchronization ensured that there was no data loss and minimal impact on their business processes.
