Codup has migrated our website from Magento to Shopify. The team has also scoped and implemented a CRM system using HubSpot. In addition, Codup has scoped and implemented multiple platform integrations, including HubSpot-Shopify, Microsoft Business Central-Shopify, and Microsoft Business Central to HubSpot. Moreover, the team has scoped and implemented PatchWorks iPaaS solutions.
Currently, we’re planning for the future state of our data lake, data warehouse, and iPaaS solutions.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Codup’s migration to Shopify and implementation of HubSpot across our sales team have been big wins. User adoption has been high for HubSpot because the team has done a good job keeping the scope narrowed down for optimal sales team adoption.Moreover, Shopify has increased sales and ease of use/management, making us more efficient. The Shopify third-party app marketplace also opens a lot of options for customization. Overall, we’re seeing double-digit percentage growth.

How did Codup perform from a project management standpoint?

Codup’s project management is very good. We have a singular point of contact in the program director, but we also have a project-specific project manager. Everything has been completed on time despite some challenges. We communicate through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Codup’s ability to listen to us and reframe our ideas into tangible, bite-sized pieces that make sense is impressive. We have a strong understanding of our project roadmap and timeline, which allows us to zoom out, follow the plan, communicate milestones, and manage budget/resources.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could avoid staying so focused on the deadlines so that we can make adjustments or ask more questions along the way. There have been some instances of timeline box-checking, but it’s all with good intentions. We would have been delaying a bit to get a few more kinks worked out along the way.

This work included UX consulting, feature updates PDP, PLP and homepage optimizations and multiple custom buildouts within our Shopify theme. They also were able to complete multiple bug fixes on our original site that were left by our previous developer.

Usman has been a great project manager throughout this progress, with timely updates, fantastic communication and a great vision that has aligned with our goals at Lysse. Having worked with other developers in the past I can confidently say the Codup team has been the best partner our company has had. 

Wasi has also been great at advising and overseeing many of the feature updates on the site, and has a great eye for UX design that is bearing great results in our current buildout. Every memeber of the Codup team has met the challenges we have raised with confidence and our weekly calls are always friendly and productive. All deadlines have been hit within the time frames needed if not sooner, and they have even filled in gaps with remaining hours alloted to optimize and smooth out any loose ends on our webpage. I cannot recommend them enough.

Moreover, Codup has documented the agreed-upon approach and methodologies to be employed throughout the project. This ensures alignment with the previously established top-level approach and technology stack.

Codup has developed wireframes to provide a visual representation of the user interface and interactions. User stories have been detailed to capture the specific functional requirements and user experiences. The team has also created proposed architectural diagrams to define the system structure and components. Data flow diagrams have been considered to depict the movement and processing of data within the system.

Codup has set up the project and prepared the environment for development. The team has created a site structure for the gift registry, organizing the various sections and pages of the website to ensure a user-friendly and coherent experience.

Codup was hired to support the design and development of key sections of our eCommerce website for our event furniture brand. The main focus of the project was building a fully functional Product Listing Page (PLP) and four Product Detail Pages (PDPs), based on our visual references and product content. Codup handled the entire setup in a staging environment, configured essential plugins like advanced filtering, and developed both the frontend and backend functionalities.

The PLP includes a custom grid layout with filtering by category, type, color, and material, as well as call-to-action elements directing users to product-specific pages. The PDPs were built using a shared template that displays product variations, specifications, swatches, usage imagery, and quote request forms. Codup ensured all content areas were easily manageable from the backend and integrated key CTAs and navigation flows throughout the user journey.

On the backend, they implemented logic for dynamic filtering, swatch selection, and product linking, ensuring consistency with the design and UX expectations. The team followed a structured development and QA process, supported User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and managed deployment to our production environment. The project was delivered under a fixed scope and budget with strong alignment on communication and timelines.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was delivered on time and within budget, with all core functionalities working as expected. We now have a fully functional and visually consistent Product Listing Page and Product Detail Pages that reflect our brand and enhance the customer experience. The filtering system works smoothly, and the product navigation flows are intuitive and user-friendly.

Since launch, we’ve seen improved engagement on our product pages, with users spending more time exploring product options and submitting quote requests. The backend setup also makes it easy for our team to manage and update content without needing developer support, which has been a big efficiency gain. Overall, the collaboration led to a noticeable upgrade in both design and functionality for our site.

Codup’s project management was solid throughout the engagement. They were organized, communicative, and kept us updated at each stage of the project. Deliverables were broken into clear milestones, and everything was delivered on time according to the agreed timeline.

They were responsive to our feedback, quick to clarify any questions, and flexible when we needed to make small adjustments along the way. Their ability to stay aligned with our goals while keeping the project moving forward made the process smooth and efficient. We felt supported from kickoff through final deployment.

What stood out most about Codup was their ability to take our vision and translate it into a clean, functional UX with minimal back-and-forth. They quickly understood our product and brand, and executed with a strong attention to detail — both in design and development.

Their team was also highly dependable. We never had to chase them for updates, and they consistently delivered exactly what was promised. That level of reliability, paired with their technical expertise, made them feel like a true partner rather than just a vendor.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Codup could have done differently?

Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience, but if we had to point out one area for improvement, it would be around providing more proactive suggestions during the early design phase. At times, we had to lead the creative direction a bit more than expected.

That said, once the direction was clear, they executed really well and were very responsive throughout. A bit more guidance upfront would have made the process even smoother, but it didn’t impact the quality of the final result.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codup?

We hired Codup to create a new website for us. Our website was outdated, so we needed a new one. That website had been created in the early 2000s, and it hadn't been updated as much since then.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we provided Codup with our requirements for the new website, and they provided us with a list of WordPress templates from the templates brand Astra. From there, we set up a meeting with several people in our organization to pick one of those templates.

Once we selected a template, Codup took a look at our old website and saw how it would work on the new template we chose. After that, they began working on building the new website using the template we chose. After Codup designed and developed the new website, they submitted it to us for approval. We were able to make the changes we wanted to make.

What is the team composition?

We had regular contact with 3–4 teammates from Codup, including Zaheer (Project Manager), Ahsan (Business Analyst), and Raheel (Business Development Manager).

How did you come to work with Codup?

We looked into several different companies and decided to contact Codup.

The proposal estimate was $14,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around September 2023, and the project was completed last March 2024. Although Codup is still making some changes, the project is done. Nonetheless, we're still in contact with them because there are some other changes outside of the project scope that we want to implement in the future.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don't have any results yet because, although the website is complete, it hasn't been launched. We're still waiting for the website to be on the correct server. Moreover, we didn't want to launch the website on a Friday, so we'll wait for a Monday or Tuesday to launch it.

As for the quality of Codup's work, it was great. We didn't have issues with the changes, and overall, there weren't a lot of changes. Their work was very consistent, and they've been very quick at making quick tweaks here and there.

How did Codup perform from a project management standpoint?

Codup met the deadlines and stayed on budget. We communicated via Google Meet.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Zaheer did a great job at getting back to us, specially after we were given access to the website to make changes. He got back to us very quickly and was able to follow up on everything pretty fast as well. Ahsan was also great at setting up all the meetings and getting everything rolling from an organizational standpoint.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Codup was very helpful. For example, when we started this project, we were having a couple of issues with our old website. The provider who was in charge of that website retired, so we weren't able to contact them. However, Codup was very willing to help us keep the old website working until the new one was built, which stood out to us. They showed great support.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Codup did very well, so I don't have any particular areas of improvement. At the beginning of the project, we had a very large project involving the entire hospital. Codup was very understanding during that period because we spent about a month without having contact; they didn't hear from us, and we didn't hear from them either.

If I had been more focused on this project only, Codup would have been quicker to get back to me, and we would also have finished the project faster. Still, we had a lot going on, and I wasn't pushing as much as I should have. I'm not sure how we could have improved upon that. Overall, they did a great job.

I’m the lead web developer at Canyon Creative, a digital agency in Las Vegas. We’ve been in business for 25 years. We started as a graphic design agency and then branched out into web development. We’re further branching off into more heavy-duty web development.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codup?

We were in a jam. We were in the middle of a niche project with an insane deadline and had to get some help on web development and some components for the application we were building. We tried to do everything internally, but I was the only developer, so we ran out of time.

We needed someone to jump in and help us. Since we were doing a headless WordPress, it was more of a heavy-duty web development focus than many regular WordPress developers know about.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially engaged Codup to get to a particular milestone when we were only about three weeks away from a deadline. They helped us create specific components in the project; we worked on a few while they also worked on critical elements of the site: a blog, a media gallery, a library, and an audio podcast module. 

Those components were in a particular section of the site; they were utterly siloed in that section. Codup also had to create the APIs to talk to the WordPress backend. Overall, setting up the web was the main scope of work.

Codup created their development environment and developed all the components. Once they tested everything, they sent us the code. We already had the design layouts for them, so they didn’t have to worry about it. However, we didn’t have a mobile layout, so Codup worked on that themselves and adapted it to the rest of the site.

Now, we’re on a phased approach, so we’ll engage Codup again in the next phase. The main phase was getting the project with a few stopgap measures. For the next phase, we’ll be working on another piece.

What is the team composition?

They have a team of developers, including a senior developer and a junior developer, to meet the deadline. Our main points of contact are business managers, a senior business analyst, and a few other developers.

How did you come to work with Codup?

We used Codeable, a service that connects you with WordPress-centric developers. We submitted a bid and had a few people engaged. Codup was right on the ball; it was a tough time, and they were quick to respond.

Initially, we tried to hire locally in Vegas because we were worried about hiring overseas. However, Codup had really high marks across the board.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $9,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first phase was signed in February 2024. We first talked to them in the first week of February, and we engaged them the following week. We’ll also engage them for the next phase.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Given the time and constraints, Codup was able to do something in two weeks that probably should’ve taken 4–5 weeks while doing QA testing. Although we had to clean up some things, it wasn’t a big deal because we knew our code would look the same given the time.

Moreover, Codup worked and tested the code; they merged into our project just within the nick of time and delivered 4–5 days before they had to. We really got under the wire, and they came in clutch.

For the next phase, we have a lot more breathing room, so we think it’ll be much easier.

How did Codup perform from a project management standpoint?

We set the deadline a day before the launch, and they got to us 4–5 days ahead of time.

During the first phase, we just had an email thread to communicate. In the first week, we just got things going; the second week, we had check-in meetings via Google Meet every other day to demo the project. If we had an issue, they jumped on it and fixed it.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Our first point of contact is Said (Full Stack Web Developer). We started with someone locally, but the burn rate was too high, and we just couldn’t do it. Said, to his credit, has engaged with us and checked in. We thought it’d be too tight, so he’s pulled a senior developer and done whatever it takes to help us. Overall, they’ve saved us. We can’t believe they’ve done that.

Additionally, Hassan (Associate Project Manager) talked to the CEO and convinced them to make it work, so they were pivotal to getting the project done. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Codup is willing to go the extra mile to help us out. A project like this could end in catastrophe, but they’ve decided to go for it and pull the additional resources. Although the amount of money wasn’t worth it, they saw value and a possible future partnership.

Moreover, their continued communication is excellent. They’re persistent to get things done as quickly as they can. They’re great people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing that needed improvement was when we were merging the code at the end. It was difficult, but we chalk a lot of it to the time constraint. Other than that, the communication was good. If we had a long-term project, we wouldn’t do the email thread; we’d use a project management tool.

Overall, everything’s been good. Codup is organized, and the proposal spelled it all out.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d try not to be in our situation. Engage Codup when you’re thinking about starting a project because their main focus is to be your partner. If you start at the beginning, you’ll save yourself a lot of trouble.

Additionally, I recommend having someone technical on your side. If your agency doesn’t have anybody technical, it’ll be much more difficult. The only reason we were able to do the project in a few weeks was because we were able to talk the language and see eye to eye. Codup said that if the team had been just designers, it wouldn’t have been possible.

Section A:
The project involved configuring various aspects of the website and its plugins. Codup set up and configured the B2B Woo Suite, including custom roles, discount rules, quick order functionality, NET payment options, and PDF downloads on product pages. The first-year license fee for the B2BWoo Suite was covered in the project's cost. Codup also configured the Wholesale Product Page Customizer plugin. Other configurations included using existing WooCommerce settings, the Paya Payment gateway, and default shipping options. In the Fire Truck Parts section, Codup kept the existing form, updated it, and ensured it matched the new theme. For the 2D Parts Guide, Codup maintained the existing page and aligned it with the new theme using the Draw Attention-Pro WordPress plugin. The Virtual Catalog and Model Number Guide sections were also retained and adjusted to match the new theme.

Section B:
Custom code-level customizations were implemented for the Model Number Search Box, allowing users to easily search for van body parts. Codup created flexible search functionality that accounted for various rules, ensuring a user-friendly experience. The results of the search led users directly to the relevant shop page. Codup also took measures to remove plugin bloat from the website and eliminated the "call us" and "email us" widgets.

Section C:
Codup built the entire site using the prebuilt "WoodMart" theme provided by the client. The theme was configured according to the client's corporate colors. The homepage, navigational menu, and footer were structured to align with the new theme, with a "MegaMarket" demo imported. Two custom pages, the Product Listing Page and Product Detail Page, were recreated based on the Astra-Electronic Store 4 Theme design. These custom pages maintained the same header and footer as the rest of the website, ensuring a consistent look and feel. Additionally, Codup implemented a popup for first-time site visitors to accept cookies and the terms of service, and all pages adhered to the new theme's design language.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The predetermined scope of work was completed, bugs were fixed, and UAT was completed to our satisfaction.

Codup provided a dedicated project manager, Nazim. Nazim was excellent. Items were delivered on time. He also gave us access to their project management software, so I could see all open tickets and see the fixes being performed live. Nazim responded to our needs usually over the Codeable app, and we scheduled virtual meetings weekly to discuss progress and issues. On all communication platforms, the response time was usually below an hour.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

This company was very professional in their interactions with us from scoping to implementation. As mentioned, Nazim’s response time was excellent. Communication typically consisted of a message to Codup listing some issues, and Nazim would return a promise of resolution. Within a few days, the list would be returned, with each item listed and the suffix "-Done" after each one.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Codup could have done differently?

We had a few items we wanted to add to the scope of work. When we went through their management team to get a revised scope (three items) their quote nearly doubled the project budget and literally doubled the anticipated project length. We opted instead to make the changes ourselves, which we were able to do in a few days. 

We feel Codup could have offered an alternative solution or analyzed the problem to find a solution that was not as costly or time-consuming, especially as one of the things they pride themselves in is their willingness and ability to use the simple solution.
