I’m the founder and CTO of huddl.ai, a B2B SaaS company. 

What challenge were you trying to address with Coditation Systems?

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the problems we had was decreasing the burn that we had as a company. At the same time, we still needed to do a lot of work. We ended up decreasing our resources in the US, but It was tough to hire high-quality people. Since our focus was mainly on engineering and execution, we needed a partner with a high-quality from a place that wasn’t as expensive as California. As a result, we hired Coditation. 

What was the scope of their involvement?

Coditation has worked on our main product, which is a meeting solution. We’ve built an alternative solution that automatically creates highlights from meetings on Zoom, Teams, and other solutions. 

Moreover, the Coditation team has been mainly involved with us on the frontend. They’re building our app and the integrations we’ve built into our enterprise tools — their resources focus on the frontend work for these projects. The main technology we use is React. 

What is the team composition?

The team composition has changed over time. We started with one resource in the beginning; that resource worked with us for more than two years. He started out as a senior engineer and became a team lead. Since then, we’ve had four resources from them in total. The previous resource has been transferred to a managerial role. Currently, we work with first-level engineers and senior engineers. 

How did you come to work with Coditation Systems?

We found Coditation through a referral. We had an advisor that was also advising for Coditation. We needed some help, and that person made the connection between our teams. 

How much have you invested with them?

Our investment has been close to $200,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in July 2020, and it’s ongoing. 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measure success by checking how timely their contributions are. From a quality perspective, we pay attention to code reviews. 

Overall, Coditation has been one of the best teams we’ve ever worked with; we’ve been impressed by the quality of the people they’ve hired. Our team has never had to get a resource out because they’re underperforming. 

How did Coditation Systems perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve always handled the management of the project. We use Jira as our predominant tool. To communicate, we use our meetings product and Slack. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Coditation’s predictability is their strength. They're honest when they say they’re hiring a junior resource instead of a senior one. The same goes for the senior roles. Our plans are always accurate because of the information they give. 

In other words, they never oversell their services. In fact, they might have been underselling it and overperforming — this has been a pleasant surprise for us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could use some help in terms of their ramp-up speed, hiring of people, and updating us about their resources’ availability. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you have a plan in place on how to use Coditation resources, the team will do a great job. Your planning should be impeccable.

We hired Coditation to create a custom Shopify and Magneto extensions for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Coditation is an important partner for our product development efforts. Their agile sprint processes have helped us deliver important integrations that extend Confection’s reach. I admire the way Coditation Systems is always looking for ways to make our processes better.

Time and time again, they’ve taken the initiative -- on their own time -- to sketch out and present us with high-impact improvements that our team hadn’t considered. I appreciate that they’re willing to think creatively and imaginatively about their customers’ best interests regardless of the project scope. Their kind of initiative-driven partnership is invaluable. It’s exactly the kind of entrepreneurial input early-stage companies need.
