Captivating Digital Experiences Baked Daily
We are a boutique development agency that helps start-ups and mid-sized businesses bring remarkable digital experiences to life.
As Codified, we've worked with quickly growing startups as well as small & mid-sized businesses in both B2B & B2C spaces.
We've helped brands build compelling digital experiences that encourage users to take action.
The reason we are able to succeed is simple. We select projects we believe we can make an impact on.
This means working on projects where our clients truly believe in what they are doing, are ready to grow, and align with our interests.
After all, life is too short not to love what you're doing and who you're doing it with.
That means saying "no" more often than we'd like.
At the same time, when we do find a mutual fit, you'll find us to function much more akin to a partner, rather a vendor.
And when there is passion on both sides of the table, the results follow... as does the fun.
See you out there.

The first online marketplace for mature trees
The Challenge
RE-TREE had a grand vision; to build a digital marketplace that made it easy for property owners to save and repurprose unique mature trees by buying, selling or relocating them.
Kind of like eBay, but for specimen trees.
As a result, property owners would benefit from having the means to quickly improve the aesthetics of their property while also saving trees that would otherwise be destroyed.
RE-TREE needed a partner to help make their vision a reality -- with the goal of timing the launch of an MVP to coincide with tree removal season.
The Solution
Together with the RE-TREE team, we helped them define, refine and build their MVP in time for tree removal season.
We kicked things off with a deep discovery phase. Part of this process included scoping the MVP and identifying which features would be necessary based on stakeholder interviews and early customer feedback.
Then, we went to work.
We built a custom backend to support all the internal processes required for RE-TREE to function as a true marketplace. This included functionality around uploading trees, admin, CRM integration, message automation and a whole lot more.
Layered on top of the backend application, we designed and developed the face of RE-TREE; the website itself as well as several avatar-centric landing pages.

1-on-1 virtual appointment scheduling for advisors
The Challenge
White Glove helps financial advisors get quality clients through marketing automation and done-for-you campaigns.
As part of their product & feature expansion, they needed to allow users to register and schedule a consulation with a financial advisor that would occur over a video conference call in a one-on-one format.
In order to power this experience, White Glove asked us to build an API to enable registrants to be able to schedule their consultation.
The Solution
We built a robust API to connect BigMarker, a webinar & video conferencing platform with Nylas, a 3rd party scheduling tool.
This enabeld registrants to select a meeting time convenient for them, and then meeting with an advisor via BigMarker at that time. Automated email & text reminders were also configured to mitigate drop-off.
Additionally, we integrated BigMarker/Nylas with both HubSpot & Salesforce to enable registrant information to populate within the respective CRM platforms.

Web Design for EdTech Company
"I found them to be very reasonable and creative about problem-solving."

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the marketing director of Boom Learning, an EdTech company that serves parents, students, administrators, teachers, specialists, and curriculum publishers. As part of my growth marketing plan, I wanted to explain the platform to each of these audiences clearly.
For what projects/services did your company hire Codified?
The old homepage was designed by developers, and it tried to address all the possible audiences at once—without giving any of them a deep dive into features and benefits for their user-type.
We needed design help to simplify the homepage to the core message: "Turn worksheets into interactive games." Then, we needed different pages for each persona to explain the important selling points, including pricing options, benefits, testimonials, features, and more. In the end, the pages served as a microsite to introduce the product to new customers (distinct from the web app that provides the education platform).
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The actual web development ask was secondary to great design. That said, because our existing site is built in Meteor, we needed a team that would be able to coordinate with our internal development team and speak the same language. We liked Codified because their pricing was in line with the relative simplicity of our development ask—but they also had the skills to solve complicated problems when they popped up.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The project began with discovery and planning. Then we had multiple sprints. The deliverables were very clear on both side, and it was easy to hit most of the deadlines. The mobile version of the site and QA came last.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We mostly worked with Will and Erik, and they both went above and beyond to deliver everything we might need. Will even did some voice overs for the videos on the site! We definitely felt supported by the Codified team.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The original homepage is wow.boomlearning.com. The new homepage is info.boomlearning.com. I think the differences speak for themselves. The new build gives us the ability to do CRO testing through Google Optimize, so we expect to see major improvements as our testing continues over time.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective. I found them to be very reasonable and creative about problem solving.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I liked their commitment to staying on budget and meeting deadlines. Sometimes, perfection is the enemy of the good. I feel like they listened to me when I gave hard boundaries about budgets and deadlines—and not all developers do!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I wish we had an additional session for training. I still find myself confused about how to do certain core functions as the site admin. I think that adding in some extra padding (1-2 hours of troubleshooting/advice giving) would be a good idea for future clients!
