BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder and CTO of models.makewithtech.com, a site where users of 3d printers can find and customize models for production on their 3d printers. I have founded and sold multiple companies in the software industry over the past 40 years.

For what projects/services did your company hire CodeAutomation.ai?

The development of this new online web application is fast-paced, with multiple releases a week. We needed a way to perform end-to-end application testing before each release.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

CodeAutomation suggested the use of Cypress as a framework to test out our single-page application and implement a series of tests which has grown overtime. The tests are designed to run both interactively and headless.

Instead of initially struggling with test automation we should have designed the application from the ground up to enable easier testing. Next time around, E2E testing will be part of the initial design process with the addition of HTML data-cy attributes to facilitate a more robust solution.
