the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a real estate company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Code Harbor?
I needed someone to develop a new website for me.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re developing a new website and system to manage my business. Right now, it’s in the testing stage, but it’s 99% done. I told them what I wanted and they built accordingly.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with 2-3 people.
How did you come to work with Code Harbor?
I was referred to them to correct our old website. When I talked to them, they said the best thing to do is to build the website from scratch.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2020, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I spent a little bit more time and money going with a brand new website, but it’s much more sophisticated. I have more work for them to do as well. I want them to help me build a bigger company. They built a very good product.
How did Code Harbor perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re really fantastic. We usually communicate over the phone, but when we have to meet with several people, we use Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They do very well. They’re very easy going and always on time. They’re very reasonably priced.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Everything is great. Usually, I’m pushing a project forward, but they were pushing me.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give them more information in the beginning. We changed the programming language three times but that’s my mistake, not theirs. I wasn’t giving them the right information about what I wanted. You need to prepare at the beginning in order to save money.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the vice president of an outpatient healthcare company. We have about 64 locations through Maryland, Greater Washington, Virginia, and Delaware.
What challenge were you trying to address with Code Harbor?
We needed someone to develop a customized portal for our customers. We have customized programs that were needed for the website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They do software development for us and developed our custom patient portal. It’s not just a website. There are a lot of programs that help us to work with our customers, including a reporting system and a scheduling system. The website isn’t for us but for a customer. They use .NET.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with someone from upper management and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Code Harbor?
They were recommended to us. One of our friends did a project with them and liked them very much. We chose them after an interview process and trials at the beginning to see how they did.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2019 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I have experience working with other providers. Code Harbor completed this project fairly fast with good quality. We have another provider that checks their code too and I got good feedback.
How did Code Harbor perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is very good. The communication is a little too much but I’d rather have more than less. We communicate via phone calls, Zoom meetings, and emails.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They do a good job. They’re on top of things. If you say something, they don’t reject you. They try to figure out a solution and are pretty flexible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It’s too soon to tell if there’s anything for them to improve. They did a good job, so far. They met my expectations.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Try them out. They’re good. You will be happy with them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Code Harbor?
We needed to build an e-commerce site as well as some needed advice for establishing a marketing strategy.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I gave Code Harbor all our basic company information, including codes, logos, and fonts. They then combined those details with their creativity. Their team created an e-commerce site from scratch, handling all the front- and backend development. They’re currently advising us on marketing strategy.
What is the team composition?
I interact with two people comprising a general manager and designer.
How did you come to work with Code Harbor?
We looked at their portfolio and talked with one of their team members about the project. He convinced us that they were the right team so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested roughly $11,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in March 2020, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

How did Code Harbor perform from a project management standpoint?
They listen to what we want and work hard to present the best option for us. They’re very responsive.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They did an extraordinary job in a short amount of time. Their team worked long hours to get the shop ready to launch. They’re friendly and hard-working.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Their communication could improve because sometimes they make suggestions before hearing what their client wants.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Dive into working with them. You’ll be happy with the results.
The team at Code Harbor provided excellent customer service. They’re communicative, easy-going, and always deliver on time.
