I’m the CTO of a laboratory equipment creation and web technologies company.

What challenge were you trying to address with CODE B?

We developed a physical system prototype for a piece of new laboratory equipment, and we wanted to expand this technology into a cloud and web-based service.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The initial phase was looking at prototypes that we had along with the wireframes we discussed, iterating on those to come to a complete project. As far as the design goes, the first task was to create the initial design architecture for the physical product and the cloud interface with AWS. The final phase was making a fully functional deliverable with all the characteristics we created.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 3–4 people, but I was only in communication with two of them.

How did you come to work with CODE B?

We interviewed several companies, but we found that CODE B understood the direction that we wanted to go and the type of products that we wanted to create.

We invested $25,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–May 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s hard to measure their work quantitatively, but they completed the project within the timeline we gave them, and they did it within budget. They also helped us reduce the initial AWS building costs after we saw that it was higher than what we anticipated, which involved changing the architecture midway through — they were OK with that, and it saved money on our end.

How did CODE B perform from a project management standpoint?

It was great. They were organized, and I could check in with the status of the project through GitHub to see how everything was going. We also had daily video conference meetings to check how everything was going through updates and feedback.

They were also flexible with their timelines; we knew that we wanted to move slow to make sure we were doing things properly and that we were collecting feedback from our users along the way.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to meet often and to adjust the initial plans based on user feedback or unanticipated issues were what distinguished them from their competitors. They were flexible when we had problems with over-billing or with changing the architecture midway through the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on. They were great in accommodating the needs of the process.

Engage users early and often for feedback.

I am a Project Manager working for an organisation which enables companies to interact with their customers in conversational commerce on messaging apps including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and WeChat.

How did you select CODE B?

One of my team member had previously worked along with CODE B in his past organisation and recommended the same to me. We then had couple of discussions with CODE B founder to understand more about the organisation, its team members and past experience, offerings, etc. After evaluating the various parameters we found CODE B to be a good match.

Describe the project in detail.

Project objective was to integrate with customer systems and fetch and display the data based on end user's requirement on WhatsApp CODE B was engaged to build this integration. I being the Project Manager had an overall responsibility to deliver the project as per set goals. CODE B team member through his technical expertise enabled us to deliver tasks at a faster rate at the same time we were able to take up tasks where we were internally lacking few expertise.

We had 1 backend developer from CODE B supporting us full time for this project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to deliver the project on time and within 1 week from the launch the number of users utilising the communication channel has increased by 10%

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had setup a daily scrum of 15 mins with the Vendor team member to track the work and understand any challenges / risks Communication over email /chat / mobile ensured there was no gaps while communicating data files or information

What did you find most impressive about this company?

All the members of CODE B including the founders are software developers who have IT experience. This gives confidence that in case there is any issue which comes up we have a good team to support us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Had a great experience working with the team and in times of crisis, CODE B team was always there to support us. Can't think of any area which they need to improve.

We are fintech startup and i am the Founder and CEO. We are building a digital bank.

For what projects/services did your company hire CODE B, and what were your goals?

We lacked the capacity to do all the work required inhouse as we only had one backend engineer. Therefore I reached out to Code B to come in and support our team.

They were very helpful and embedded into our team ensuring timely delivery of the project. We hired the team to refactor our backend so that we can have additional endpoints focused on specific features. Our call was to build a microservices driven platform which the team at CodeB helped us with.

SOLUTION

How did you select CODE B and what were the deciding factors?

They did not only have the right skill set up they were also very professional and supportive during the engagement period. We were looking for a team that can function independently while working on the project and this is something that they displayed early on.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a meeting to set out the objectives and target to be achieved for the project. The deliverable was to build additional endpoints for our microservices platform.

The team not only planned each endpoint but also wrote unit tests and working with our team to do the final testing and connecting those endpoints to our app. Google cloud platform was the main technology used with NodeJS being our programming language.

We worked with a single person from their team who was embedded in to our team. His role was a technical architect.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We had new endpoint in our platform which means that our app was running a lot faster as we moved to a microservice instead of having everything on a single endpoint. this mean that our payment speed increased significantly by 100% following the development.

Overall the work has help improve user experience as our users can do everything on our app faster and it showed in out NPS.

we used slack for all text-based communication we used google hangout for call we used asana for user stories and agile project management their communication was great and always joined the call on time and delivered on time and on budget.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The way that they have supported us by giving us one of their developers to work directly with our development team. He adapted well into our team that we forgot he was a contractor. we look forwards to working with them in the future.

All code is well commented and we have provided postman collection which can be used as frontend and backend developers

I’m the co-founder of a cryptocurrency startup. We create automated trading systems for cryptocurrency.

We were looking for coders with extensive knowledge in creating real-time databases.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

CODE B built a system that collects cryptocurrency prices from market streams and API, organizes them in a backend database, and then publishes them in the frontend of a website. It involved collecting hundreds of gigabytes of data from lots of different providers. 

The team used a lot of different technologies, including JavaScript, MongoDB, Google Firebase, and Node.js. CODE B also used WebSocket APIs and were able to solve problems that arose during the process to complete the project.

What is the team composition?

Riddesh (Founder) was our point of contact.

How did you come to work with CODE B?

We tendered a spec for our project on Upwork. We discussed the project with a few companies that responded. Riddesh had worked for a large Indian brokerage before, giving him the knowledge of how the backend of trading systems work, which appealed to us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–August 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We worked in close collaboration, fine-tuning and making changes as we went along. We are very happy with the final product they presented.

How did CODE B perform from a project management standpoint?

They were efficient and responsive. Communication was usually via Skype and Slack chats. We used web-based tools such as Google Docs for the entire collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re excellent at what they do and come up with solutions for various problems. Their backend coding skills are amazing. They really know what they’re doing, which is important in the crypto space where data reliability is not great.

No.

Try to work with them. They have a great skill set and are enjoyable to work with.

We’re working on a new version of our API and were short on skilled labor.

CODE B used Node.js to develop the backend of our microservices architecture. Now they’re working on Angular to build out the frontend of our API.

There are four developers with CODE B who work with our 25 in-house developers.

How did you come to work with CODE B?

I posted the need on LinkedIn and they messaged me that they did these services. I was very skeptical at first but I got it verified with a couple of resources. We had a discussion and personal meeting and we found out they had already done a different level of API for different companies. We decided to give them a chance.

We started working together in May 2019 and the work is ongoing.

CODE B was amazing with the backend work and architecture. For the frontend, they’re good, but their main skills are in backend development

CODE B will work overtime to resolve issues, which is a difficult trait to find.

As a small team, CODE B needs to work on more large-scale projects to understand the processes of different companies.

We needed additional help to develop a reliable solution for our customer quickly.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team developed a Google Firebase application for workflow and project management services. After a discussion with our team, Code B started the development process. We asked them to integrate two critical functions and modules. While they’re building two more modules, their team released two for clients to use. Code B also created their own algorithms and ideas.

During one stage of the project, we worked with 10 people from Code B. Right now, there are six people supporting the platform.

Code B was referred to us. We went through a normal evaluation process that included a successful proof of concept.

We started working together in November 2019 and the engagement’s ongoing.

Our customer’s happy with the solution and code quality. The feedback has been good.

How did Code B perform from a project management standpoint?

We use JIRA to track the project and Code B's management’s good. Their team's proactive in sharing the project’s status as well as their work. They don’t wait for our escalation or inputs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Code B’s communicative. If there are any issues, their team alerts us. They also tell us what can and can’t be done.

They could improve where there are a lot of integration steps.

Rather than giving them bits and pieces of the project, give them the big picture to enable them to come up with a holistic approach.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with a MEAN stack development team from CODE B. They used Angular for frontend development and Node.js for backend development. They developed a reporting dashboard that was shared with the client.

I found them online. Initially, a senior consultant that I’ve worked with for a long time did a technical interview. I then explained the product requirements, which they understood quite well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They deliver quality code. It’s been a year or so, and the products they’ve built haven’t needed any maintenance. The dashboard functions quite well. They have fulfilled all the requirements we’ve given to them.

How did CODE B perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve had a great experience working with CODE B. Their response time and proactiveness are excellent. We communicate via phone, WhatsApp, Skype, or Zoom.

They deliver everything on time and understand our requirements. Plus, they’ve been accommodating and willing to work even on weekends or nights if needed. If we need additional resources, they make sure they can find somebody who can work for us.

 What did you find most impressive about them?

They make time for us and deliver as promised. Our internal team has also given them strong reviews.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had issues with the junior developer’s work, but they fixed it and delivered it on time. They didn’t charge for the work that they did, which was very kind of them. I don’t have any problems with the senior members, who always deliver flawless work.

Give clear requirement details from the beginning. If the planning is good enough, they can deliver a good product. We changed the requirements very frequently, and that caused delays in the work.

We have a complex project related to Health and Fitness in which a user can create Goals, Activities and Challenges. All the data was getting fetched from Apple Watch and Fitbit devices and need to sync in real time. Also need to handle the calendar requests and sync multiple entries according to the events created.

The team was having 7 guys including 2 mobile devs, 2 backend guys, a designer, QA guy and a project co-ordinator. There were some additional resources for the time being depending upon the requirement of the tasks

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Due to complex features, we were looking for some team with great dedication and enthusiasm as we were having very strict deadlines. Along with this quality of the product was non-negotiable. With the assistance of Code B team, we have delivered with the project before the designated timeline covering up all the quality aspects.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Manager was in sync with both the dev teams and the vendor and made sure the requirement was clear on both ends and also helps to resolve the blocks if any during the development cycle.

The main positive point of working with CODE B team is their analyzing skills. Before start working on any task they deeply analyze the task and check it's impact on the running system.
