A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the program manager at VodafoneZiggo, a telecommunications company. We provide both mobile and fixed services to consumer and enterprise customers.
What challenge were you trying to address with CloudSense?
We needed help producing a good “configure, price, and quote” (CPQ) solution in our Salesforce platform for telecom purposes.
What was the scope of their involvement?
CloudSense built us the CPQ solution that we needed. We had engaged with them for door-to-door, direct, and indirect solutions to provide an omnichannel solution for our CPQ.
What is the team composition?
Over the years, I’ve worked with over 20 people.
How did you come to work with CloudSense?
We asked for quotes from various vendors, and we did reference checks with several companies as well. Ultimately, we chose CloudSense because of their expertise and solutions for telecom.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent €1.5 million (approximately $1.8 million USD) for CloudSense’s professional services.
What is the status of this engagement?
For this project, we worked together from January 2018-January 2019. I still work with CloudSense on other projects.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We managed to automate our sales process for small and medium businesses for both our direct and indirect channels from a fully manual process. CloudSense met all the goals we set, and the solution they made was a good fit.
How did CloudSense perform from a project management standpoint?
It was a bit hard to meet deadlines, but it was because of changing requirements from our side.
What did you find most impressive about them?
With CloudSense, anything is possible. However, you have to find the balance between thinking out of the box and fulfilling your requirements.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could be more explicit in what their capabilities are and transparent when they deviate from standard implementation.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Having your requirements and expectations set speeds up the process. You might run into difficulties if you change a lot along the way. You have to organize yourself from the business side before you engage with them. It’s not that there’s any fault in their project management, but it’s more you have to get your act together before engaging with them to start the implementation.
CloudSense’s tool resulted in the automation of sales processes, meeting stakeholders’ expectations. They achieved all their targets, and they displayed expertise and out-of-the-box thinking throughout the project. They were flexible enough to adjust to the client’s changing requirements.
