I’m the co-founder of a service solution company. We operate two brands that work with small businesses to provide marketing solutions and customer engagement tools.

What challenge were you trying to address with Clavis Technologies?

We needed a dedicated team of software engineers to build out our products and help grow the company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Clavis Technologies developed a lead distribution solution that’s integral to our business. They used PHP, JavaScript, and a MySQL database to bring the platform to life. In addition to coding the software from scratch, they also built a native mobile version for iOS and Android. First, homeowners fill out our customizable questionnaire so the software can assess what services they require. By accessing the company profiles built into our backend, the software matches homeowners with service firms that have the skills they need. Each lead is sent to multiple contracting companies via the mobile app, email, and text. The software’s dynamic infrastructure facilitates responsive lead tracking and automatic billing.

During that project, we began to question our approach to lead generation. We’d previously captured leads through forms, but decided to try a new tactic. After building a simple chatbot, we saw our conversions increase by 30%–50%­. Responding to that success, we decided to transform the chatbot into a complex AI solution that supports a sales-oriented conversation flow. Clavis Technologies helped us build the system into a product that we can sell through one of our brands. That process involved adjusting the conversations programmed into the software’s previous iteration. To make the product user-friendly, the chatbot can be customized without requiring clients to perform coding tasks. The platform’s machine learning was built in-house, but it also utilizes multiple APIs. AWS and MySQL servers host the captured information.

What is the team composition?

They assigned a project manager, five engineers, a QA resource, and a frontend designer.

How did you come to work with Clavis Technologies?

One of my company partners has family connected with Clavis Technologies. We started developing our software with them and eventually built up a mutual trust.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent at least $200,000­–$300,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired them in June 2016 and they continually provide development work. Our involvement with them seems to be increasing as time goes on.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The contributions of Clavis Technologies have increased our internal growth and revenue. The lead distribution software and chatbot product continue to improve our conversion rates. Their code is stable and easy to edit. Overall, we’re grateful for their service.

How did Clavis Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Shiju (Project Manager, Clavis Technologies) is a pleasure to work with. We communicate daily and have calls 3-4 times a week to make sure each team is on the same page. We use Orangescrum to tack development sprints as they’re in progress. They always respect our deadlines and deliver on time. Maintenance and miscellaneous tasks occur, but minor delays are readily communicated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their approach to project management is outstanding. Despite being overseas, they’re better communicators than most firms working from within our time zone.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’d like to see their UI/UX designs continue to evolve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Take advantage of their responsive communication. They bring in new resources at a reasonable price, so I’d recommend that future clients hire them as development partners.

For ZyraTalk, the team reconfigured an existing custom chat system into a customizable tool that utilizes the same distribution technology to generate leads. Clavis Technologies also built AI tools, created backend databases, completed multiple integrations, and solved every problem we’ve encountered.

We first worked with two full-stack developers on this project. Their team has grown to five full stack developers, a project manager, and a quality assurance resource. They can allocate additional resources as needed.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Clavis Technologies has delivered excellent results so far on the software product suite. They now provide support and integrate changes in response to feedback from our sales team, marketing team, and leadership.

We looked into 20 different companies for this project. We reviewed their past work and spoke with some of their previous clients. In the end, we chose Clavis Technologies because, based on our research, we were confident in their ability to deliver.

They created the e-commerce site from scratch. The team designed and developed the platform according to our specifications and integrated it with our shipping providers and a tracking analytics system to help us manage our supply chain. They also provided any maintenance we requested.

We worked with a project manager, a business analyst, a designer, two software developers and a QA tester. Most of our communication was through the business analyst and project manager.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They completed the project about a week before their estimate and we were able to go to market earlier than anticipated. We received great feedback from users during our beta testing phase. The team quickly made any adjustments to assure the site ran smoothly.

Our project manager was excellent. He was always available and showed a keen interest in our business goals and objectives. Their team used Jira to neatly and transparently organize the project and they consistently provided progress updates. We hit every milestone as planned. With their knowledge, they were a valuable resource for insight and suggestions related to client engagement.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their approach to communication and project planning was amazing. They were professional in terms of delivery and quality. With them handling the site, we were able to dedicate more time to the business side or our company. After the first couple weeks, we felt confident enough in their services to stop micro-managing. It was a pretty carefree engagement.
