Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of a logistics company. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Celestials Technologies?

We wanted to create a web app that would make it easier for towing companies to deliver cars to various warehouses. The web app would help those companies make appointments with warehouses, which in turn could send orders to towing companies via the web app. We’d seen the need for such an app in the market, and we hired Celestials to build the technology behind it. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Celestials developed our web app. On the backend, the team also created an admin portal where we could log in and see all appointments made on the frontend. They also built the app’s mobile version that could run on iPhones and Android devices. The developers used React Native on the frontend, while SQL and PHP were used on the backend.  

Moreover, I worked with them on the UI/UX design of the app, and then they took care of the rest. They used some APIs to speed up development. For example, they used React Native API for the frontend and Tailwind for the UI development. 

At present, four large-scale warehouses are using the system. We’ve launched the app’s beta version, and we keep on adding new features and updates. Drivers and warehouses are using it for their appointments and orders. 

What is the team composition?

I’m directly in touch with their CEO, and a team works behind him. He’s our main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with Celestials Technologies?

I worked with their CEO about 3–4 years ago, and I found him on Upwork. At that time, he was working at a different company. Then, he started his own company. When this project came up, I reached out to him. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $8,000–$10,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2019, and the engagement is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I measure success based on how quickly they deliver my requests. When I give them a list of tasks, they give me a timeframe. Then, I gauge their effectiveness based on how accurately they do their job — I check whether they’ve delivered all the features I’ve requested without any bugs or not. I also check if they meet their deadlines. So far, they’ve always met our deadlines. Aside from a couple of minor bugs, their development quality is also great. 

How did Celestials Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Celestials has never gone over our budget. When they provide an estimate or a quote, they build the deliverable within that budget. In fact, even when I ask them to do something that I’ve forgotten to tell them at first, they don’t ask for more money — they do it within the originally quoted budget. I’ve never felt that I’m cheated in terms of costs. Likewise, the team is accurate when it comes to deadlines; they hit our timelines 90% of the time. 

We don’t use Trello or other project management software, although they give me regular updates via email or WhatsApp. To communicate, we mainly use emails. If I want to show them something that I can’t explain in words, we use Zoom calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is clear. Their English is good, and it’s straight to the point. Likewise, the quality of their work is great. They solve difficult problems quickly. It even surprises me how quickly they can implement complex functions into the software. 

On top of that, the code they write is strong; it’s scalable and bug-free, and that’s one of the best parts of their service. Overall, the Celestials team does things well. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m a UI designer so I’m exact when it comes to UI designs. It might be helpful if they also have an eye toward such designs. That way, I wouldn’t have to be so precise about my design requests. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be precise with the design documents that you send to Celestials. They’re great at understanding such a document, and they follow it exactly. As a result, spend a lot of time ensuring that it explains everything in detail. Whatever you put on that document is exactly what you’ll get.
