Catch produced a first draft of the script and supported us through to its completion along with ideas for things to shoot on the big day. The production process itself went very smoothly with the team travelling to film in Bedford where we shot several scenes and played around with ideas. There were no issues and the film was completed to the deadline.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked very closely with Catch’s founder Alex. He was available whenever needed and supported me too on going through the crowdfunding process as he had done so himself before and had lots of advice to offer. He also provided me with a free session in which he gave me lots of marketing and comms tips that I could use for the campaign.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video helped us hit our public campaign goal of £100k and we even went on to oversaise and reached £134k.

They were always available, friendly and professional.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Catch clearly knew the process of putting together a crowdfunding film. They really bounced off my ideas and went with what I needed blended in with what worked best for the film. They were supported throughout, made sure I was on track and always had a solution.

I am comms consultant to We Belong, the only UK-wide campaign organisation run by and for young migrants.

We wanted a series of 2 short animations, aimed at young people who migrated to the UK as children, who may have precarious immigration status. The aim of the first film is to alert young migrants to the issue; and the aim of the second is to explain how they (with We Belong's support) may be able to resolve their immigration status and get on with their lives.

The entire process went admirably smoothly. No hiccups or delays. The projects were completely quickly and we are really happy with the final films.

I worked closely with Catch founder Alex. Feedback and communication and turn around was very good.

The people Alex selected to work on this project (animator and recording studio) were both extremely good, and really knew their stuff. Catch understood the brief (which was quite complex); made good suggestions, but were very willing to listen to what we wanted and make changes, accordingly.

We are a registered charity based in the Ashford and Staines area. We work to coordinate social, charitable, religious and educational projects in the local community.  Our name represents an ethos of inclusivity and diversity, building an ark of compassion for the young and old, women and men, the vulnerable and neglected where they may all find solace in the oft rough seas of modernity.

We seek to revive the spirit of the word “community” in an increasingly individualistic world, with the Ark becoming a vibrant hub for positive action and development.

To produce a catchy, vibrant video to assist our fundraising efforts for our centre. Our main goals were to ensure the video represented our centre in all is diversity, spectrum of activities and public service.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Catch Creative were selected after reviewing a number of other production companies. It was their professionalism, clear communication and diligent work ethic that were the deciding factors in our selection.

Started with an initial email proposal, which led into a phone discussion, with some samples sent back and forth. We arranged on site visit amd set a date for when the centre would be most heavily utilised.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with all members of the production team, videographer, soundman, and managing director. Feedback was succinct, polite and pragmatic.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our video was great success and encouraged our and the wider community to donate towards our latest expansion project. We managed to raise over £400k in donations through the video produced.

Alex and his team were available on the phone and online. We preferred traditional and personal communication methods - phone calls and in person discussions. Although we did set up the occasional Zoom sharing call.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their patience and positivity in working with us were outstanding.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wished we had utilised them further to create promotional material of our other activities.

I am the CFO and co-founder of BARE, a new dating app for people who are open-minded and headquartered in the UK. Our company has about 50 staff and I oversee new campaigns and sign off budgets for them.

For what projects/services did your company hire Catch Creative?

Dating apps are a highly competitive market. So as a startup, we needed to devise a campaign that would really cut through to new users. We thought the best way of achieving this was through a video that really made you think about trying something different.

What were your goals for this project?

We hoped to see an uptake in downloads of our app which has recently launched in London. We intended to use the video for social media, as well as for our website and YouTube channel.

SOLUTION

How did you select Catch Creative?

My team searched online for video production companies in London and compiled a list of a few companies. We contacted them and arranged some meetings. Each company, after hearing about our needs, produced a proposal which we then reviewed and made a decision on.

One of the proposals was very generic which made us think they hadn’t listened much. The others were good, but Catch’s was far more competitive and reasonable on costs.

Plus, we also felt good energy after having spoken to them as they just ‘got’ the brand. So, the decision was easy in the end, although rather long-winded but necessary.

Once we selected Catch, they requested a meeting to kick things off and establish deadlines. They worked with us to understand our messaging as well as what we did and didn’t like.

They then produced a visual storyboard of how they would see the film looking, which we signed off pretty much after the first version with just some minor tweaks. They then hired all the models and sorted out the crew and filming date and invited us to the shoot.

Their team provided everything we needed and they then also edited the video quickly afterwards, as well as some other versions for social media.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

They provided us with a five-person filming crew as well as all the models. We worked together throughout the entire planning process and led with the vision of the film to its delivery.

The first cut of the video was even better than we expected and they took on our feedback with a few rounds of editing to iron out some minor changes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within a few months of releasing the video, we ended up with over 6000 downloads of our app while it was in beta testing.

Many of our users also commented that they had decided to get BARE because the video had inspired them. Viewers appreciated the authentic and original approach to meeting people and revealing themselves, just like they do on the app.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The creative director of the company oversaw the entire project with us and also directed the film. Their team welcomed feedback and built on ideas that we also provided them with.

It was a fun experience that also stuck to the timeline they proposed. They communicated with us well and always responded quickly, making us aware of any obstacles that might get in the way and which we always resolved.

Overall, I was impressed with an outstanding team who took every effort to ensure the end result was sound.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I and the entire marketing team felt like we had been on a journey that would help us bring BARE to life, and we did. I haven’t witnessed personally many people with the vision that their director held, that was so remarkable. It felt like he could see it in my head and then some.

We have worked with other companies who have also provided good content with great ideas but not with the efficiency and drive that Catch provided. I highly recommend them and without a doubt will be using them again.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The whole experience from start to finish was a super service and delivery. We honestly can’t think of anything that could have been improved. If anything, we wish we could have provided information quicker to Catch rather than them having to wait on us to get things done quicker!

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a relationship support charity that provides evidence-based relationship support to anyone that needs it. Most of our support is digital and can be accessed throughout the world, though some of it is specific to certain projects and audiences.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Catch Creative?

We needed help on an animation project. The overall goal was to help our user base (couples and parents) learn about conflict and stress and how they affect relationships.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

There was some funding in place to add some video to some of our relationship support. This would expand the scope of our projects. When COVID struck, it became impossible to put together a live video shoot, so we switched to animation, knowing it could be produced remotely. We had to find a way to still get our message across.

They developed several videos for us, including one supporting new parents. They added to an existing online set of resources we have for this audience. The other project was around listening. They produced two animations for this: one that presented the connection between thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and the second provided a simple and safe listening activity for people to use at home. Everything is evidence-based, so we provided the evidence and wrote the script for them to use. They take words on the page and create beautiful animations.

They work through three iterations on each project, which worked well for us. First, they present mockups including the character and location designs. Then, they provide an animatic—a basic version of the animation for us to test and give feedback on. The final animation and tweaks come last.

What is the team composition?

I worked with an account manager and an animator.

How did you come to work with Catch Creative?

I’d worked with them before, actually, when I was with a different company many years ago. I knew they’d worked with charities, and they were based in the same building as I was, at the time. They understood what we were trying to achieve, and, after they did a short animation, I brought them on for a live-action film. Therefore, when this most recent project came up, I had them in mind. I’d been wanting to work with them again because I’ve had such good experiences with them. Other animation companies we’d worked with recently had had a lot of personnel changes, so we asked Catch Creative to pitch alongside another agency. Catch had the most eye-looking pitch, and their processes made us feel very secure.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around £37,000 (approximately $50,100 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between August and October 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Users have told us that the videos have helped them understand couples conflict, as well as the impact a baby can have on their relationship and vice-versa. They also reported listening to each other more, sharing their feelings more, and being more aware of handling stress constructively. The final, biggest one, is that they said they’ve expressed an intention to think about changing their behavior. These are all really positive results.

How did Catch Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They did very well. We had an initial meeting where we chatted with them and spoke with the animator; they were both very on top of things. They estimated how long things would take and listened to what we needed. They weren’t afraid to ask questions, either. Budgets and timelines were adhered to.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Coming from a charity point of view, they understood how they work and are funded. From a general point of view, they have a very good balance of personal and professional. It’s easy to communicate with them, and you feel like you’re in the capable hands of experts.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. They worked really well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Get your plans in order because the more you know about what you want, the better it’s going to go. Having a clear goal is going to make the relationship work well.

Resolution is a memberhsip body for family justice professionals and we campaign on issues that are important to our members. Most recently we succeeded in our long-held ambition to reform divorce laws in England and Wales by abolishing the need to apportion blame for a divorce to be granted. I am the Communications Manager at Resolution.

For what projects/services did your company hire Catch Creative?

We hired Catch Creative to create a short film that highlighted the most pivitol moments in our 30-year campaign to secure no-fault divorce legislation, to be shown at a virtual conference with our members in attendence.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to:

• explain the problems with the current fault based approach to divorce.
• highlight the pivotal moments in Resolution's 30-year campaign to secure the reforms.
• celebrate the contributions of members who were vital to the campaign's success.

SOLUTION

How did you select Catch Creative?

Our firm had worked with Catch Creative in the past. When we needed video content created in a tight timeframe, they were an obvious choice. At the project scoping meeting they demonstrated a great understanding of our firm, history and the type of upbeat inspirational film we wanted to create.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The video had to be filmed remotely as a result of the second UK coronavirus lockdown. Catch provided guidance for participants to secure high-quality self-filmed contributions.

They also provided edits in post-production that improved the look and feel of each self-filmed segment. I provided the initial structure of the video but they storyboarded it from there. They had full ownership of the editing process and came back to me for three rounds of suggested edits.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Two members of the Catch team were involved in the project scopping exercise. They worked on three rounds of edits as outline in our contract however inaddition they provided further last-minute edits to the video. They were very patient and understanding.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video was shown at our virtual summit with members responding positively to and it was shared dozens of times on social media afterwards.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective workflow. Communication was good, they came back promptly to any questions and queries we had. Workflow was managed through email/phone/WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Very innovative in their approach to self-filmed videos. At the start we were worried about potential quality issues but the guidance and post-production they provided ensured the contributions were high quality.

We had a very positive experience working with this company and can't suggest any areas in which they need to improve.
