Introduce your business and what you do there.

My company is called Code and Cross, and we specialize in web design and development for the fashion and retail industries. More recently, we have started to develop 3D VR and AR solutions for the fashion industries as well.

What challenge were you trying to address with Carden IT LLC?

We’re a fairly small company, but as we’ve grown, the size of our clients grew with us, and so we reached a point where it made sense for us to outsource some of our services outside of our sore team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Originally, we were looking for help with cloud-hosting and general security. For example, one of our clients is a pretty big shoe e-commerce company, and they run a lot of pop up private sales when they release limited shoe designs. In order to support that, we needed to be able to scale our cloud hosting services on a dime and just have a level of flexibility that Carden IT LLC was able to set up for us.

Beyond that, obviously security is becoming more and more important, especially dealing with customer information. They’ve helped us implement disaster recovery plans for clients of ours that required one in order to do business with them.

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Jeremy (Director, Carden IT LLC).

How did you come to work with Carden IT LLC?

We received a recommendation through the WeWork community at the time. Another company on our floor know of them and introduced us, and we decided they would be a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend close to $10,000 with them per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the relationship in August 2018 and are continuing to work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re just extremely reliable and informed, which is exactly what we are looking for in this kind of service. They’re very supportive, and they help us to meet our core business goals beyond just completing individual tasks that we set out for them. They’re really helpful with the work that we do and will definitely continue to work with them.

How did Carden IT LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicated through emails and phone calls. The amount of contact we had obviously depending on what services we were running or setting up at the time, but they’re generally very super communicative and very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve been with them for a while now and seen how they are growing their services to be able to support their client base. I think it is a great reflection on how they see the market and where things are going. Carden IT LLC does a really good job of predicting the needs of the companies we work for, so it’s really useful to have a partner who’s always forward-thinking like them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re really happy with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It was a fairly seamless transition for us, because of how knowledgeable and easy to work with they are. But I would just encourage anyone working with them to ask questions and be open to incorporating any feedback that they provide for you.

From there, they handled the installation and getting the deliverables set up securely. Because of their success with this effort, I’ve decided to keep them on to work on some newer projects as well.

It was a smooth transition, which is the primary focus of any IT-related project. They were able to get it set up without causing downtime for anyone involved. The transition was easy, without any problems. 

How did Carden IT LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

The process was simple from our end because their team was always communicating and making themselves available to us. They gave our customers a great impression of our team. We generally communicated through Facebook Messenger but also spoke more formally through email and phone calls. Our calls were done at my convenience, despite our different timezones. He was very responsive, and I always felt comfortable working with them.   

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very knowledgeable about the IT industry and able to answer any questions I have. Having this level of confidence with a partner makes the entire process very easy. I really appreciate having somebody to handle projects like this with me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve upon.

Be clear about your intentions and goals for the project. That helps partners, especially in our field, determine a budget and timeline. Each of those project components is essential to your success in the work and will assist your partner in providing the best service.
