Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Experience Facilitator for Junior Achievement of the Triad which means I plan the fundraising events and serve as the brand/marketing manager. Junior Achievement of the Triad is a for impact organization that inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy by teaching them how business works, how to manage money and how to choose their future career.
For what projects/services did your company hire Captivate Media?
Junior Achievement of the Triad partnered with Captivate Media on our annual event - Business Leaders Hall of Fame. This prestigious event was established in 1980 and up until 2021 was held in person with about 600 in attendance. Due to the pandemic and safety precautions, we made the difficult choice to hold the event virtually.
Like many other event planners, this was the first time we have ever attempted to plan a virtual event. However, Captivate Media made this planning process a breeze! From start to finish, they helped put together the vision for the event, created and implemented a timeline and provided creative feedback throughout the process.
We had decided early on that it would be easiest for all involved to do a pre-recorded event but launch it like the event was live. And this went off without a hitch! It took a lot of planning in the beginning but was well worth the finished product.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goals were broad and quite simple.
- Create a mission based entertaining virtual event.
- Ensure the event lasted less than one hour.
- Provide multiple platforms for guests to join.
- Provide a way for guests to interact during the event.
Based upon the feedback we received from guests, we accomplished all of these goals. This event really allowed us to gain visibility we did not have before.
How did you select Captivate Media?
A member of the Hall of Fame Planning Committee recommended that I reach out to Justin to see if he would be willing to partner with us on the Hall of Fame. I met with Justin prior to the pandemic happening and we discussed a mutually beneficial partnership for the event. Best decision we ever made!
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
As I stated before, we had decided early on that it would be easiest for all involved to do a pre-recorded event but launch it like the event was live. It took a lot of planning in the beginning but was well worth the finished product.
We met several times to discuss the vision for the event as well as to set up production days and locations. We created a script early on and made adjustments as we went along. Part of the plan was to have two students host the event rather than have an emcee or speaker. We felt showcasing the students and their talents would be a great way to begin the event and then bring in the guest speakers.
We were able to interview and work with some incredible people in the Triad such as our laureates - Don Flow and Bobby Long. Captivate Media was able to incorporate a lot of our own marketing / media tools so it kept the video on brand for JA.
As I stated above, Captivate Media made this planning process a breeze! From start to finish, they helped put together the vision for the event, created and implemented a timeline, produced the video content and provided creative feedback throughout the process.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Captivate Media provided assistance and guidance throughout the entire process. From creating a script, to production / filming days, editing and testing the live features - they were there and made themselves available!
The entire Captivate Media team was involved in some way whether it was production days, editing the videos, creating the 30 second social media marketing teasers or editing the script. We created a timeline that worked for both Junior Achievement and Captivate Media.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Because of this virtual event, we were able to surpass our fundraising goals by raising a total of $101,250! This is the greatest outcome we could of asked for because of this event, we are able to serve 2,350 students in the Triad area getting us closer to meeting our goal of impacting 21,000 students in this community.
Not only that but our traffic to our website increased by 150%. We have received a ton of positive feedback about the quality of the virtual event. Captivate Media has been invited to present to our board of directors and we have heard several other organizations were incredibly impressed with the event as well.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Working with Justin and his team was easy and so much fun! They were always available to answer any questions I had or to set up quick meetings to discuss edits.
I can't say enough great things about the Captivate Media team! Very professional and timely. I am grateful for their hard work on this project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I will say everything that was produced blew me away! I was incredibly happy and impressed with every step in this process. The team was collaborative, professional and incredibly creative.
We went into this project with just a vision of what we wanted and Captivate made that vision come to life. I couldn't be happier with the finished product! I 1000% believe that this team can handle any project a business or organization needs done.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Honestly, I can't think of one thing that needs to be improved. I am incredibly grateful for their collaboration and production of our event! I highly HIGHLY recommend Captivate Media for any of your production needs!

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and manager of Simon Jewelers. We’re a full-service jewelry store that does on-site repair and custom work.
What challenge were you trying to address with Captivate Media?
I wanted to create some brand awareness videos. The objectives were to visually present what our store looks like as well as give customers an idea of our merchandise and services, such as on-site repairs. In essence, we really wanted the videos to represent who we are as a business as well as locate us by name and location.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Captivate Media produced two live-action, 15-second commercials for us. I gave Justin (President) a general idea of what we wanted, and he handled all the pre-production efforts. This included developing the script. I explained what it should include, and he wrote it. Then, we edited, rewrote, and revised it together.
We worked tirelessly to fully express the emotions of my business in as few words as possible. When filming, Justin provided a teleprompter that allowed me to read the script in a relaxed manner. We shot many takes until we got it right.
Justin doesn’t have a large staff and did most of the production stages himself. He did have access to some talent he hired to be in the commercial, however, he also captured a lot of candid footage.
Justin came into the store several times and filmed natural interactions. He always got the customers’ permission and ensured they signed a release. Sometimes, I’d look up and he’d be there in the store. I expressed that he could come whenever he liked and trusted him to do it how he knew best.
What is the team composition?
I only worked with Justin.
How did you come to work with Captivate Media?
I’ve known Justin for several years, even as he started and built his business. Justin is talented in doing bridal work. I saw his portfolio and viewed some of the wedding videos he’s produced. Wedding videography is all about emotion and in my business, we’re all about the story. We don’t sell emotion, but we sell things that represent someone’s relationship and that encompasses emotion.
Justin joined a bridal association that I’m also a member of. I told him he’d be the perfect person to do traditional broadcast production because the emotions are the same. We discussed the engagement and moved forward from there.
How much have you invested with them?
I invested between $1,000–$2,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement started and finished in March 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
A lot of people said they saw the commercial and recognized my voice. My voice-over really set the tone for the commercial. At the end of the day, we weren’t expecting people to come in running and buying a lot of jewelry because of the video. Overall, Justin was very comfortable to work with.
He was willing to implement any needed changes to make sure I was satisfied with the end result. We didn’t have exactly what we wanted on the first go-around. He and I expected to take a rough look at what he thought I wanted and then tweak it as needed. Justin made the process really easy.
Justin’s talents stem from his extensive work in creating wedding videos. I like him because he understands the emotions that are important to people. He understands vision as it relates to where the video is trying to go. He knows how to provoke a response in a positive way that gets someone to react to what we have to offer.
My jewelry store is a story; we don’t sell commodities. We’re value-added and interact with our customers. Justin did a good job of conveying that without using a lot of words; all we had were pictures, videos, and words. The commercial allows customers to watch and figure it out for themselves.
How did Captivate Media perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated through email, text, and phone calls. Justin was happy to accommodate and communicate on whatever platform I wanted. After the engagement, we stayed in touch. He views my Instagram account and always has a feel for what we’re up to. Often times, I go through long periods of time without talking to him, and then we connect.
Another attribute of Justin’s work is that he never itemized on each individual time he came in and filmed candid footage. He didn’t add his extra visits to the bill, but rather looked at the project as a sole price.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Justin has a unique perspective and knows how to tell a unique story. I was impressed with his wedding videos because it was clear he takes the time to know the couples. He didn’t just show up on the day of the wedding, take some footage, and then slap it all together.
From the get-go, it was obvious he knew how to convey emotion because I could feel the emotion in his pieces. I was seeking someone who could tell an emotional story about me and my business, and he did exactly that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there are no areas for improvement.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the operations manager at the North Carolina African Services Coalition. We are a refugee resettlement agency and we assist victims of human trafficking.
What challenge were you trying to address with Captivate Media?
Our agency video was too long and outdated, so we were looking to create a new one.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Captivate Media produced a video from us. We wanted to revitalize our mission and highlight our programs from the participants’ perspective so they could tell the community about the impact our programs have had on their lives. Additionally, we wanted to feature some community partners we work with to enhance future partnerships and donations.
First, our teams sat down and did preplanning for the video. We decided which programs to feature and who would be best to interview. Their team set up locations and assisted in developing the questions we asked the interviewees. Captivate Media shot and edited all of the footage.
What is the team composition?
We had one main point of contact, our project manager,
How did you come to work with Captivate Media?
I had worked with Captivate Media in another position. At our meeting, they seemed to have a wealth of knowledge on how to sell an organization. After going on their website, I was blown away by the quality of their work and decided to work with them. They seemed like great people to work and collaborate with.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent less than $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Captivate Media ran from November 2018–September 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re still developing our marketing plan for the video and introducing it to the public. However, it brought tears to the eyes of multiple team members. The video is incredibly impactful. Everyone who has viewed the video has given us rave reviews.
How did Captivate Media perform from a project management standpoint?
Captivate Media was very quick to communicate with us via text, phone call, or email. They were always accessible and flexible. If something came up and we needed to reschedule, they were willing to find another time that worked for us both.
When our executive director wanted something reshot, they were incredibly amenable and cooperative. They came back, set up equipment, and reshot it. He was thrilled with the reshoot. I don’t think I’ve ever worked with a company as flexible and professional.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The most noteworthy thing about Captivate Media is their commitment to excellence. Throughout the whole process, there were no shortcuts or rushing. They take their time and pay attention to detail, making sure we receive an excellent product.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we were very satisfied with the project.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be transparent about what you want and communicate your needs clearly. Captivate Media will do everything they can to ensure your mission is communicated to the public.

Please describe your company and your position there.
My name is Jonathan Marquez and I am the CFO for Northwood Animal Hospital in High Point, NC. We are a multi Doctor small animal practice, focused on providing our clients and patients with the latest and most advance options of Veterinary Medicine available along with remarkable customer service.
For what projects/services did your company hire Captivate Media?
We reached out to Captivate Media to help us bring to life our ideas and vision of our very first ever branding video. This video is to help our company show case who we are, what we do, but most importantly why we do it.
What were your goals for this project?
One of the main goals of this project was to bring to life our vision and ideas of what a branding video for our practice would be. Although we had NEVER done anything like this before, Captivate Media was always helpful in so many different aspects, from just listening to our ideas, vision and requests. To suggesting and providing their feedback and expertise and then bringing it all together to make an amazing branding video.
How did you select this vendor?
We had seen some of the work that Captivate Media had done around town. Especially with the High Point Chamber of Commerce. We were BLOWN away with the work, quality and impact felt after seeing some of their videos. Being also a small business was a factor for us on choosing Captivate Media. As a small business ourselves we feel it is very important to show our support for other small businesses in our area.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The video process started by first meeting with myself and my wife Dr. Rebecca Slivka our CEO. Captivate Media and us chatted for a few hours and heard all of our ideas, wants and needs. They took this information and then per our conversation connected in private with some of our Senior Team Members to also get their feedback and ideas.
Once this was all done, the story line was put together, reviewed and then we moved forward to production. The whole process was so amazing, even some of us are not HUGE fans for being on camera, we all had a great time during the interview, B-Roll film and video review.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Captivate Media's team was very helpful from the story line writing process and editing. To the film crew who came over to obtain footage they were all great to work with. Communication was also on point. Questions we had about the project or its components were answered in a timely manner. We were also checked on several times during the project to make sure we did not have any additional questions.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
From the moment we approved the final version of the videos and we released them to the public we have received many compliments about them. Our current clients are very impressed for this type of approach from our practice to show case our Hospital.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was easy and very straight forward. Captivate Media was very mindful of our needs and operations patterns. They work with us after hours and sometimes before business hours to ensure we were able to make it work for everyone with minimum to no interruptions.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We were blown away how prompt, efficient and talented their team is.
Are there any areas for improvement?
At this point I can not think of anything so share on here.
