What challenge were you trying to address with Calibre™?

I needed help creating a close protection app for bodyguards and clients because I have no experience in this field. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team started by using the concept that I gave them and then made the app for iOS, which we've since launched. They incorporated a very in-depth vetting and security process for the users, screening all bodyguards for licenses. 

Additionally, the team added a feature that allows users to leave reviews and feedback so that potential clients can have a better understanding of the bodyguards. Now, Calibre™ is redoing the app, adding a chat service and higher security and encryption.

What is the team composition?

I work with Jason (Founder & CEO), along with two other teammates.

How did you come to work with Calibre™?

I found them online after searching for a company to help me with the project. I then met Jason and decided to work with Calibre™.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $37,000 on the app, which is a mid-market price.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started on this project about a year ago and the work is ongoing. We’re hoping to finalize the app by the end of 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The platform they made was really good and even won a design award. The quality of their work isn’t the absolute best, but it’s pretty close to that.

How did Calibre™ perform from a project management standpoint?

Jason is a good project manager, and he and his team have good communication. They are a reliable partner, delivering everything on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They do a good job and make money. Something that distinguishes them from other service providers is that they always deliver. So far, we have a good relationship and I have a lot of confidence in Jason.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing that they can improve on right now. However, having a bigger workforce would really help them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you look over the specifications sheet that Calibre™ gives you so that you know the cost and the time the project will take. Be careful with the costs because they can add up quite quickly.

I’m the managing director of a consulting and software solutions firm that provides software development expertise to outside companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Calibre?

We spent the past two years redeveloping a software system and hired Calibre to help us with the digital marketing on that product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us with SEO and PPC using Google AdWords. In conjunction with that, they redesigned our landing page so that it contained better backlinks, links to our blog, and SEO-friendly keywords. They also gave us some more general advice about how to improve our site in terms of displaying the products we offer, which we’re now in the process of revising.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with the owner of the company.

How did you come to work with Calibre?

I knew their owner through my own previous work as a consultant. When I learned that he’d created an SEO services company, I reached out to him to work with us.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about £2,500 (approximately $3,400).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January 2017–January 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our site traffic and lead generation improved 30–40% based on Calibre’s work, which was our primary goal and connected us to a lot of new potential customers. In terms of the specific product we were trying to advertise, their intervention helped us but we ultimately realized that the market was already saturated and decided to change course.

How did Calibre perform from a project management standpoint?

They’d often get back to us within the hour, and always within the day, anytime we had inquiries.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like that they’re a smaller company. They can dedicate more time to you as a customer and provide the same kind of quality service as a larger firm. They care about you and your company’s needs rather than treating you like a sales number.

Are there any areas they could improve?

My only concern is scalability in the future since they have so few people, but then there’s a question of whether or not they can maintain the same level of customer service as they grow.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have good developers so you can implement the site changes they recommend. If your internal team can’t respond quickly or effectively, you won’t see the best results.

We wanted a consultant to help us with keywords and technical SEO.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They do in-page analytics for our product pages and edit those pages as needed. They also do content creation, which is keyword specific.

What is the team composition?

I work with Jason (Managing Director, Calibre) and part of his content team, as well.

How did you come to work with Calibre?

I found them through a referral. I originally used them for Magento e-commerce support.

How much have you invested with them?

I do other business with Jason as well, and I probably spend £30,000 (approximately $39,500 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around September 2015, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since the engagement began, Calibre has tripled the visibility of our business in search results. Our conversions are increasing, and qualified traffic is accelerating based on their advice.

How did Calibre perform from a project management standpoint?

We have regular communication, mostly via phone and email. They also use Atlassian for project management, which works quite well. Their response isn’t always rapid, but they get back to us pretty quickly about our key points.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provide excellent technical analysis.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We always want more in-person time with them, but we do speak pretty regularly.

Any advice for potential customers?

Get to know your product. The more you know the product and understand your customer, the better you can apply their technical knowledge to your business.
