Brooks Image

Brooks

Concept

Protecting high net worth individuals, families and public figures isn't a career choice for the faint-hearted - just think of the box-office smash hit, The Bodyguard, and the trials and tribulations of Kevin Costner's character. With the personal security market skyrocketing, BROOKS came to us with an idea for an App to help handle the increasing amount of enquiries for, and streamline the

booking of, close protection officers (CPOs). Solution

We created an App that's available on both iOS and Android, which allows CPOs to register their services through. BROOKS receive the information and carry out the necessary checks to authorise their skills and experience before setting their profile live on the system. The App is encrypted to military level standards (AES-256), meaning customer and CPO data is completely secure.

Result

The end result is a fantastic App for those in need of personal security. Customers can browse a database of qualified and vetted professionals and the GPS location service can even locate the CPOs nearest to them. The rating system means users can leave reviews based on their experience, all with minimal effort and safe in the knowledge that their information is protected.

CHARIS Image

CHARIS

The GPS-enabled CHARIS app provides instant access to the day's appointments at the leading fitness, beauty and wellness establishments in London. View search results on an interactive map and organise by postcode and treatment type. Once you find an appointment take a virtual tour of our partners' properties which includes Editors notes and recommendations.

CHARIS is invitation only. To join the waiting list,

download the app and enter your details. Alternatively you can request membership from charisit.com

CHARIS started as an offline concierge servicing discerning City professionals working in and visiting London. Over time the client base grew and the team realised they needed a more efficient way to connect their customers and suppliers. Part of the appeal of CHARIS is the luxury branding and personalisation (insider tips and bespoke recommendations) which fostered trust and made the company an authority in the beauty, wellness and fitness space. Whilst keen to embrace digital technology the team wanted to maintain the community feel it had built, and ensure that the luxury experience was not lost. We decided to make the booking process easier for both clients and partners by putting all appointments on the app, creating editorial features for all of our vendors outlining their services and providing our recommendations and integrating in-app payment.

User Experience

Community, Content & Experience

The CHARIS app is a virtual storefront showcasing a curated collection of the top beauty, wellness and fitness establishments in London. All appointments are pre-paid within the app and users can track their booking history in their account settings. Customers have several treatment options and and can search appointments using live GPS technology. CHARIS was designed with a distinct glossy magazine quality; Editors' notes and high resolution photo galleries showcasing the interiors of our partners' properties, giving users the ability to "shop" directly from the CHARIS app.

Project Marketing

CHARIS is affiliated with international luxury brands and professional networks and is currently operating on an invitation only basis via these channels.

TomTom Image

TomTom

Concept

With a mission to get drivers to their destinations faster, safer and greener, TomTom is recognised and trusted around the globe for providing accurate, real time traffic information. They were embarking on a new campaign, #BreakFree, with the aim of reaching a new generation of TomTom users via Twitter and other social media channels.

Solution

To support their campaign TomTom’s agency, C&M, called upon us

to create a custom web application which would populate Google maps each time someone tweeted where they were in a traffic jam and where they wanted to #BreakFree. This would help provide useful, real-time information for other drivers through one of the most popular social forums in the world. Result

#BreakFree was a monumental success across the web. The campaign even included online video sketches of celebrities stuck in traffic jams from the likes of John Cleese, Sky Sports’ Chris Kamara and Radio 1’s DJ Scott Mills. Drivers were encouraged to take part and post their ‘caraoke’ videos on Facebook and Twitter to win big prizes. The overall campaign generated millions of online brand mentions and we were thrilled to be part of its success. David Preece, C&M, said “From start to finish, the quality and speed of Lexel's work was nothing less than excellent, even when dealing with some fairly fluid and unpredictable deadlines. Their enthusiasm for the project never faltered and I will definitely be using Lexel again for future projects”.

WordPress Integration for Costa Image

WordPress Integration for Costa

Concept

The Costa Foundation was created in 2007 to help reduce poverty in communities that produce coffee in countries such as Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Vietnam. The charity has completed more than 40 life-changing projects, including building schools and colleges and improving health and hygiene. They needed a new solution to enable blogging capabilities to shout about the remarkable work the charity

does and to encourage donations. Solution

We worked closely with their agency, Graphite Digital, to integrate Wordpress with the existing Costa Foundation website. It was the perfect solution to bring their work to life. The content management system (CMS) makes it easy for users to update and publish content, it integrated with the existing site with ease and the ecommerce feature makes it simple for visitors to donate safely and securely.

Results

The Costa Foundation now has a vibrant, fully responsive website that captures the spirit of the charity and displays valuable information about their achievements in a creative, interactive way.

Ann's Cottage Image

Ann's Cottage

Concept

Ann’s Cottage is one of the largest retailers of surf wear, casual wear and accessories for men, woman and children. With nine stores throughout Cornwall, they offer big brands, fantastic quality and almost four decades of experience in kitting out the pro’s, the beginners and anyone else that enjoys the relaxed surf style. They needed a new website to better reflect their brand, which would enable

quick and easy online transactions for customers and work across a range of browsers and devices. Solution

We teamed up with Graphite Digital to deliver a fresh new website design which included the widely used e-commerce software, Magento. This was the ideal solution for Ann’s Cottage as it fulfilled all of their requirements; it integrated seamlessly with their Microsoft CRM for stock update purposes and promised to provide a first class mobile shopping experience for their customers.

Result

The result is a fantastic website that not only brilliantly showcases their range of clothing and other products, but is easier to navigate and works in all web browsers and on devices including tablets and smart phones.

Thanks to Calibre’s work, lead generation and site traffic increased by over 30% and led to increased networking for future consulting work. Their team delivered personalized attention and was highly responsive, often replying to inquiries within the hour.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director of a consulting and software solutions firm that provides software development expertise to outside companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Calibre?

We spent the past two years redeveloping a software system and hired Calibre to help us with the digital marketing on that product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us with SEO and PPC using Google AdWords. In conjunction with that, they redesigned our landing page so that it contained better backlinks, links to our blog, and SEO-friendly keywords. They also gave us some more general advice about how to improve our site in terms of displaying the products we offer, which we’re now in the process of revising.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with the owner of the company.

How did you come to work with Calibre?

I knew their owner through my own previous work as a consultant. When I learned that he’d created an SEO services company, I reached out to him to work with us.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about £2,500 (approximately $3,400).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January 2017–January 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our site traffic and lead generation improved 30–40% based on Calibre’s work, which was our primary goal and connected us to a lot of new potential customers. In terms of the specific product we were trying to advertise, their intervention helped us but we ultimately realized that the market was already saturated and decided to change course.

How did Calibre perform from a project management standpoint?

They’d often get back to us within the hour, and always within the day, anytime we had inquiries.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like that they’re a smaller company. They can dedicate more time to you as a customer and provide the same kind of quality service as a larger firm. They care about you and your company’s needs rather than treating you like a sales number.

Are there any areas they could improve?

My only concern is scalability in the future since they have so few people, but then there’s a question of whether or not they can maintain the same level of customer service as they grow.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have good developers so you can implement the site changes they recommend. If your internal team can’t respond quickly or effectively, you won’t see the best results.

Feedback summary:

The conversion rate and the qualified traffic have increased markedly since Calibre's initial engagement. Communication can be occasionally slow, but efficiency and quality of work generally win the day. Their technical expertise makes them a valuable partner.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing director of Peter Christian, and e-commerce menswear company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Calibre?

We wanted a consultant to help us with keywords and technical SEO.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They do in-page analytics for our product pages and edit those pages as needed. They also do content creation, which is keyword specific.

What is the team composition?

I work with Jason (Managing Director, Calibre) and part of his content team, as well.

How did you come to work with Calibre?

I found them through a referral. I originally used them for Magento e-commerce support.

How much have you invested with them?

I do other business with Jason as well, and I probably spend £30,000 (approximately $39,500 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around September 2015, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since the engagement began, Calibre has tripled the visibility of our business in search results. Our conversions are increasing, and qualified traffic is accelerating based on their advice.

How did Calibre perform from a project management standpoint?

We have regular communication, mostly via phone and email. They also use Atlassian for project management, which works quite well. Their response isn’t always rapid, but they get back to us pretty quickly about our key points.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provide excellent technical analysis.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We always want more in-person time with them, but we do speak pretty regularly.

Any advice for potential customers?

Get to know your product. The more you know the product and understand your customer, the better you can apply their technical knowledge to your business.
