Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a local general family dental practice.
What challenge were you trying to address with ByteTime Computing?
First, I hired ByteTime Computing to configured my office for IT, and then to install all of the IT components, including computers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Along with the general IT services and initial wiring, the team installed all of our hardware, which included computers, televisions, and X-ray software. We purchased the televisions, but the rest of the machines and other equipment we let them purchase.
They worked with a contractor, but members of their team also helped with the wiring.
On an ongoing basis, they help us with virus protection and Cloud backups. If there’s ever an issue with computers or hardware, they come out and fix it for us. Sometimes they’ll remote into the computer to help us out if they don’t need to come in.
What is the team composition?
For the sales portion, we worked with one point of contact. There was an actual technician along with other people that assisted with the wiring and insulation.
How did you come to work with ByteTime Computing?
We referred to them through a friend. Initially, we received a bid from another company, but that company left out minor stuff, like keyboards, cables, and mouses, that would’ve been tagged on the tail end. We didn’t like that, so we got a bid from ByteTime Computing.
The bid was comprehensive from beginning to end.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $50,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in May 2016. Our official contract with them for several ongoing services began in January 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t had any issues. Their work is reasonably priced.
How did ByteTime Computing perform from a project management standpoint?
From a project management standpoint, it’s been great. We’ve had no issues with communication. They’ve been responsive to every call and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s easy to work with them. The team we’ve gotten to know and work with have been friendly and open. Several of them have actually become patients. There’s a mutual trust between us. If we see them at the store, they always say hi.
Even if we need help after hours, we can call them. If we ended up using the other company, it wouldn’t have been the same. We met with that owner, and he wasn’t personable at all.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not anything off the top of my head. If we need something, we send them a ticket, and they either fix it remotely or come before the end of the day to fix it. I’ve had no complaints.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s good to have another bid on the table for comparison. Everyone should have an idea of where everybody stands as far as pricing and everything. They’re very transparent.
For example, they told us not to buy the televisions from them because it would be more expensive. They went line by line saying where they could help us and where we could do better. I appreciated that.
The team at ByteTime Computing continues being a resource for the dental practice. Their personal approach makes them stand out from other providers. They're skilled, communicative, and easy to work with.
