I am the CEO of a startup fintech company, PixMettle.

For what projects/services did your company hire byPeople Technologies, and what were your goals?

We needed to develop a mobile app on both Android and iOS, including mobile phones and tablets. We had some basic requirements and screen flows outlined.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We evaluated several different providers that we found in our search. byPeople had the most experience and a fair price. They also had project leaders that understood what needed to be done and how they would accomplish this.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We shared our requirements and they began by building a screens only prototype. We modified these and they began the development process. We would have weekly check-ins for any questions and to understand progress. We began with the iOS platforms first and then moved to Android.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There was a project manager and two developers assigned to our project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The iOS platform was completed within 5 months. This is a complex platform as it supports the expense management functions for small and mid-sized businesses. The Android platform was then completed in a few months afterwards. Testing and enhancements continued on an ongoing basis for 6-9 months after this.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The team communicated often and well. We used Slack and video conference calls on a regular basis. They raised issues as they occurred and shared their recommended course of action.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They understood what we had set out to do from the beginning. Their team was all committed to a successful outcome and they communicated often and accurately.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, not at this time.

I’m the director of a luxury ride-sharing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with byPeople Technologies?

We were looking for a service provider to develop our app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided wireframes, requirements and the booking process. From there, they built the entire app, both front- and backend. They developed the code and the app is compatible with Android and iOS, serving essentially as two apps – one for drivers and one for passengers. They also helped with the logo design. 

What is the team composition?

Jaydeep (Solutions Architect) was the project manager and main point of contact. There were 4–5 others working on the project for backend elements for Android and iOS, including Vishal (Head of PHP) and Sandeep (Head of Android).

How did you come to work with byPeople Technologies?

We found them on Upwork. I liked the idea of working with a team rather than an individual to get a more well-rounded service.

We’ve spent $19,700.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in July 2015 and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We now have a live model and we’ve done a lot of testing to make necessary changes and fix mistakes. 

How did byPeople Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been pretty good at meeting milestones. We use Asana for project tracking and communicate mainly via Skype. To track hours worked, they use Upwork. We do occasionally use AppFocus. We’ve also had daily conversations after making the live model. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re always available and provide everything I need in one place.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their coding quality could be better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re a one-stop-shop so work together; be involved throughout the process.

I'm the founder of Pocket Rehab, a web and mobile app that provides a peer-to-peer community of people struggling with addiction or mental illness.

What challenge were you trying to address with byPeople Technologies?

We reached out to byPeople Technologies to develop our mobile app from scratch. Although our internal team had already developed a smaller version of the app, it wasn't capable of supporting a lot of users. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

byPeople Technologies designed and developed a native app for iOS and Android. They also built a web-based admin portal to manage the backend. Features include group chatting; voice, text, and video chat; a recovery tracker to monitor progress; and 24/7 real-time support. 

What is the team composition? 

About five different people have worked on the project, but I mostly work with Jaydeep (Solution Architect, byPeople Technologies) and Sandeep (Head–Android, byPeople Technologies). 

How did you come to work with byPeople Technologies?

They came highly recommended by the person who helped to write our business plan. After I reached out to byPeople Technologies and spoke to their team via Skype, I thought they'd be a great fit for the job. 

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested $75,000–$90,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working together since around December 2017, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app they've designed is very user-friendly, functional, modern, and simplistic. They've improved on our original layout and incorporated a lot of different functionalities to meet our unique needs. They've also been very helpful with launching the platform in app stores, maintaining it, and assisting with user retention and scalability. 

How did byPeople Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I don't have to worry about anything because they're always on top of it. Despite their offshore location, they've been extremely professional, timely, and communicative throughout the engagement. We mostly communicate through Skype, but also use tools like Asana and Slack. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work ethic and the number of hours that they put in every day is incredible. They also take a lot of pride in their work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd definitely recommend working with them. They're willing and able to learn new things quickly at no additional charge to the client, so don't be afraid to ask questions or test out some smaller projects with their team before committing to a larger engagement.

I’m the co-founder of a development company. We offer web and mobile app development and consultation services.

We needed help with multiple mobile and web applications.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve worked on three to four projects, focusing on UI/UX design and development. They develop iOS, Android, and web applications according to our clients’ needs. The projects use Swift, Java, Angular.js, and PHP.  

One project was a delivery application, while the other application was for car rental companies to monitor their cars.

They also developed a website alongside each application, to operate the services for the admins and employees, as well as a promotional version aimed at the users.

What is the team composition?

We worked with their project manager, a solution architect, a designer, a Java developer, and an iOS developer.

How did you come to work with byPeople Technologies?

We found them by coincidence when working on a personal project, so we contacted them about our needs.

We started working together in 2016 and the work is ongoing.

They deliver what we expect, so we keep the relationship going. We’re happy, as are our clients. Their work is of high quality and produced in the agreed timeframe for a reasonable price. Our success is because of the success of their deliverables.

How did byPeople Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m satisfied with their project management and we’ve had no major issues. Each project had its difficulties, but we managed to solve them. We communicate over email and Trello and work in an agile methodology.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They try to work with the client to find the solution together.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could do better with their documentation as in some cases, there were minor issues.

It’s useful if you are a little bit technical so that you have a common language with them.

I initially hired byPeople Technologies to develop a mobile social networking application for scuba divers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team developed the app for iOS and Android. Features included instant live chat, GPS-based logbooks, and image uploaded and sharing. The team added these components as I accrued more capital. We later added a web interface.  

What is the team composition?

I usually work with one main point of contact but have interacted with the team. There have been up to five people working on my projects.

How did you come to work with byPeople Technologies?

I found them on Freelancer after searching for a vendor with more affordable prices than local agencies.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent around 50,000 AUD ($35,175 USD).  

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project lasted from 2012 – 2017. Since then, byPeople Technologies has provided other services, such as digital marketing, for my businesses.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t need to go anywhere else because the team is a great full-service provider. Lead generation improved dramatically and sales have increased due to byPeople Technologies’ ancillary services, which include telemarketing. We’re performing well compared to the competition.

How did byPeople Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

byPeople Technologies is excited about their work and enjoys sharing their success with clients. Communication is also a notable strength. Although the team prefers Skype and WhatsApp, we use email because that tool works best with my busy schedule. They also make insightful suggestions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The end product fulfilled my aspirations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. The team hasn’t let me down because they do their best to grow with their clients.

Clients should think about how the development scope and budget support their objectives and keep that end goal in mind during the build.
