Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work at Scrum Academy, a Germany-based international platform offering courses for Agile and Scrum certifications.
Our trainers are certified by the Scrum Alliance, which is a global authority for Agile certifications. Around 10 organizations are on our platform, and that number is continually growing.
What challenge were you trying to address with Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG?
We wanted to relaunch our brand and acquire the domain AgileAcademy.com. Buzzmatic helped us with relaunch and redirection planning. Now, they’re doing performance audits to help us be more Google-aligned with regards to Core Web Vitals that Google will launch in May–June 2021.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Buzzmatic initially helped us relaunch our website, where they improved our URLs and overall navigation structure. At present, they mainly do audits and serve as subject matter experts (SMEs) for our development team. Essentially, we work in the Scrum and Agile environment, and they review our work to see if everything is done correctly.
We’re still working on Core Web Vitals, and Buzzmatic has made us aware of many website problems, such as duplicate content. Our information structure is still a bit too broad, and since we’re using an independently developed platform, the solution lies in our backlog.
What is the team composition?
We work with Oguzhan (Co-Founder) and Raoul (CEO).
How did you come to work with Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG?
I personally knew Oguzhan, so I was aware of their work. For this project, I called and asked about their price. I also asked three other organizations, but Buzzmatic had the best package.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve invested around €10,000 (approximately $11,800 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around February 2019, and we’re still working with them on an on-call basis. Currently, if I have problems or questions, I can call them and they’ll help.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve relaunched the site in July 2020, and our visibility has been at an all-time high. We’re also ranking for keywords on the most important URLs and topics.
Before this, we mainly ranked for our knowledge base and blog pages. Now, we’re ranking for more keywords related to the training we offer. In other words, we’re getting more traffic for the most important keywords — the ones that convert to training.
How did Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG perform from a project management standpoint?
In terms of communication, we use a mix of Asana and Wunderlist, a German tool. With the Scrum team, we work with a 502 tracker tool that helps us prioritize our backlogs. Everyone can log in and create tickets, and the Buzzmatic team and I work through and prioritize those tickets.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Buzzmatic is always focused on getting good results. Their approach is less about outputs and more about the outcome of the work. Other agencies focus on output, so they give smaller tasks that we work through. However, Buzzmatic tells us that it’s more important to hit goals than do smaller tasks.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only thing they can improve is their communication with developers in terms of understanding the issues that they face.
Many agencies simply tell their developers what to do and hope that they actually do it, but sometimes it’s necessary for people to understand why they should do something. As a result, it’s better if Buzzmatic can take a step back and explain the reasoning behind the tasks in simpler terms.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
To go in the right direction, stop putting band-aids on small things and start thinking big to get the best results. Do what Buzzmatic tells you, and focus on the results.
That’s because Buzzmatic sees things that you won’t see when you’re too close to your work. No one wants to know that the page they’ve been working on for years has problems, but the best way to start getting better is to understand that you need help.

applepie Berlin is a full-service e-commerce agency. I’m the CEO of the company. We develop web pages and prepare marketing strategies and advertising campaigns for clients.
What challenge were you trying to address with Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG?
They’ve provided us professional SEO strategies, like building website content structures in order to get good SEO positioning.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG provided keyword research, content architecture for clients’ websites, and competitor research based on keywords. They handled both on-site and off-site SEO for us.
They also built backlogs for us, with keyword price listings, which we use to determine which keywords we should start with, based on the product type. If we add new products to the list, they filter directly to the existing keywords of the competitors, with links and recommendations. We've worked with them for some really big companies in Germany.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with Oguzhan (CEO). We’ve had a technical SEO specialist working on internal links, ranking scores, and page speeds. He shared audits with us on how we could improve everything. Another member was focused on content strategies, making sure that the content was relevant for the target groups and fit the client’s methodology. I believe that the third one was tasked with keyword research.
How did you come to work with Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG?
We found them through references.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about €10,000 (approximately $12,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The latest project ran between December 2020–January 2021. Buzzmatic is really fast.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our SEO traffic has gone up. Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG created a lot of content for us in a short time, giving us the option to publish new items every day. The process gave us a lot more insight into SEO than we expected, and that alone has tremendous value.
The documentation they prepared allows us to handle everything from our side, and they’ve built some amazing PowerPoint presentations.
How did Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG perform from a project management standpoint?
Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG worked with us to understand the project scope in the beginning, before they started. Most of the project management was done on our side, and Buzzmatic was just one part of this project. They delivered everything in the correct timeframe, and they took the time to make a presentation of the work.
They had no problems joining our Slack channel. Zoho is their main tool for task management, communication, and invoicing. They gave us the chance to join, but there were many other people involved on our side, so they joined our system. They also used Google Drive on their side. They talked directly to our client to get the information they needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their deep knowledge of SEO impressed us. The rate was also good.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. I’m really happy with them.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I’d refer them to anyone looking for on-page or off-page technical SEO or content creation. Buzzmatic GmbH & CO KG has a really good process for reviewing content, publishing, and everything else.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
For this purpose, we received a well-founded, but nevertheless easily comprehensible catalog of measures from Buzzmatic, which we could use as a guide.

Our engagement began with a discovery phase and we laid out our goals. They helped us with keyword research and performed an analysis of our competitors. From there, they made on-site changes and created new collateral with our updated tactics and keywords.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two colleagues from Buzzmatic worked with us. We had access to both at any time and could easily exchange ideas on topics as well as new ideas.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Measurable output is difficult to meet due to Covid19. Nevertheless, we have been able to successfully complete many measures in the last few months, which have given us a significantly improved presence on the Internet.

They were great at managing our expectations and meeting deadlines. We mostly use email to communicate as well as Slack for the fast lane. They’re always quick to respond and implement changes. To stay aligned we have a monthly roundtable meeting with both as well as spontaneous meetings if needed.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was most enthusiastic about her way of communicating - we always had the feeling that both sides understand each other and that we want to achieve the goal together.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There is certainly always and with everyone potential for improvement. At the moment, however, I can't fix that to anything specific.
