Creative ideas was a big one. If you let them do what they do they'll come up with some stellar ideas that'll separate you from the crowd. They also have a rock solid understand of what cool.... they "get it" Great copy and graphic design work as well.

They're very ambitious. Which I respect. In the spirit doing great work and great things they probably bite off a bit more than they can chew at times. That being said, they've also recently developed some fantastic processes to manage difficult clients like we were. Just be really intentional with scope : )

Bujou was a highly impressive company that exceeded our expectations in terms of their creativity and management capabilities. Their ecosystem could have handled any of our creative needs, from branding to press releases, to models for photoshoots, and even to interior design for a retail space. We were impressed by their ability to integrate all these different aspects of creative work into one cohesive package.

Furthermore, they demonstrated excellent project management skills and had an eye for detail when it came to ensuring that all elements were working together in harmony. In addition, they were very communicative and accommodating throughout the whole process and always responded quickly when we had questions or needed changes to be made. After a few meetings to discuss details on what we want to achieve from this website. We were provided with a rough draft to see the design/color palette. Once we gave our feedback - a website was provided to us. We reviewed and made a few changes and added some pages, changed some pictures and tabs. Once that was done, we had a few other tweaks. All changes were made and we finalized the website.

I, Heather Morris am a Calgary based dancer, choreographer, instructor and entrepreneur. I have performed both internationally and with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet but am most proud of my work in Calgary teaching women how to express femininity, exude confidence and enjoy life through improvised dancing. I have been providing specialized instruction on movement improvisation with RhythmFX Entertainment for the last four years in addition to working as a freelance performer and instructor for over fifteen years.

I hired Bujou Creative to create a promotional video that would promote my dance classes, explain my unique style of dance training and highlight my personal brand as an instructor. Essentially, there is no one else who does what I do and I needed help translating it to the general public. Our goal was to both capture the atmosphere of my classes and clarify my approach to dance theory and training in a concise video. Ultimately I will be using this video to promote my classes to potential customers and employers.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I chose Bujou Creative because of their ability to communicate the feeling of a brand. It is easy to simply show all the components a client asks for, but it is difficult to capture and translate the emotional quality of a brand. I felt as though they truly understood how I want to make people feel and were able to show that through the work.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

The final video is two and half minutes long and includes visuals of my dance class, audio of me explaining my dance theory and the components of my dance classes, and testimonials of my students. The entire video fits a lot of information into a short time frame without feeling cramped. We started with an initial discussion where I was asked to give an overview of what I am looking for including specific shots, video length, price points and goals.

These were then written and formally agreed upon. We had a short call to confirm all the details before Bujou came to a dance class of mine where both the video and audio were shot. A first draft of the video was provided to me within a reasonable time frame and I was asked if I would like any edits or changes. Bujou was able to complete the project within only two drafts and the final video was provided to me through a shared cloud in two formats: mobile and desktop.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked directly with Maggie Bowles. I found the feedback process easy and simple! Maggie was open-minded to any changes I wanted and made great suggestions to areas I was unsure about.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video has only just been completed, but I am already reaping its benefits. The response has been fantastic! I am receiving an influx of interest and new dancers/customers are attending my classes. Many have told me they were curious but hesitant to attend until seeing the video.

I would describe their project management style as highly communicative. I was always aware of what stage we were at on the project and was provided updates along the way. I never felt unsure or uniformed. They worked around my schedule and were timely in their responses as well as the actual production of the video.

I was drawn to this company because of their ability to communicate the feeling and overall essence of a brand. I am impressed by their understanding that marketing is not only about beautiful content, but rather creating a universe/an atmosphere for consumers to experience and ultimately be enticed by. They truly capture the feeling and emotion of brands and then use the right kind of content to translate it to audiences.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I do not have much to say for areas of improvement. Any issues or concerns I had were met by Bujou Creative, and I am extremely happy with the final result. Our only struggle was with the lighting in the studio where the video was shot which led to some of the footage being unusable but they did a great job at working around the issue and ultimately produced a high-quality video.

Fruit Freak Seasonings manufactures and sells all-natural fruit toppings for oatmeal, yogurt, and other breakfast foods. I'm the owner and founder, and we launched just under a year ago.

The main challenge we have is educating our customers on the various ways that they can use our products. We hired Bujou Creative to create a promotional video that could quickly and effectively communicate that information.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had a vision for the video but I didn't know how to execute it since I’m not a creative. I gave Bujou Creative a vague idea of what I wanted and they produced the video accordingly. 

I hired the team again when our company was due for launching at Sobeys. We needed retail floor displays for the event and had Bujou Creative design and produce those for us using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Recently, we’ve also decided to go into a full rebrand and redesign of all of our product labels. Bujou Creative took the time to look into other brands that were also in the health and wellness space. They research which brands popped out of the shelves and tried to incorporate that into their output. We've completed the designs and are now in the production process. 

Bujou Creative is also concurrently helping with our website SEO to increase our conversions. 13 has started managing and creating content for our social media pages.

I work with Maggie (Head of Creative Services) on the design projects. Russell (Videographer) came in during the video production.

They were referred by my girlfriend who knew that Maggie had started this company. I hired them for the video production project and continued working with them thereon.

We’ve invested $5,000 CAD (approximately $4,000 USD).

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I ran the promotional video for a few Facebook and Instagram ads, and these have played into the increase of our sales. Bujou Creative did an amazing job with the redesign of our labels; it conveys a really strong, cohesive brand. The retail displays have been super effective at increasing our sales in all of our retail locations as well, effectively communicating to customers why they need to buy our product. Along the lines of social media, I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback about how engaging our content is. 

Bujou Creative really went above and beyond to get things done quickly and effectively. Working with them has been a great experience overall.

How did Bujou Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Bujou Creative has a good grasp of what I'm asking for. They work quickly to allot time for the revisions that would need to be done. They would present me with different options and make variations of the one that I would choose. The team is really great at taking me, step-by-step, to the final design.

The communication is very clear. We correspond via Instagram, email, text, or call. It varies from time to time depending on what is the most convenient. If I'm driving, I’ll just give them a quick phone call and if I need to review a final design, then we will use email to preserve the high quality of the file. They're very flexible with all forms of communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

It's extremely impressive how they were able to create a spot-on execution of my vision on the first try. The final product didn't really need any revision because I was so happy with it. Even though I only gave them a vague idea, since I'm a big-picture thinker, they were still able to create something that I didn’t even know I wanted.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Off the top of my head, I don't think so. The whole experience has been fantastic .
