Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a digital agency. We work in the creative and strategic space and are an end-to-end digital provider. As president and CTO, I manage operations and our technical team.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Buink Web Development?

The main problem we hoped to solve was our production and development capacity. We reach out to them when we need more developers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We use them for web development contracting work. They help with our strategies and designs and do front- and backend development. As an example, they helped us with one of our client's Shopify websites. They took care of web edits and page template development.

Typically, our project managers carve off pieces of a project, which we send to them to process. They work on design and development and send work back for our approval. Their work varies, depending on the project. They've also worked with us on WordPress projects.

What is the team composition?

We usually provide the project managers, and they provide the developers. All of the projects have one main developer, though some of the larger projects may have involved a few resources that we didn't interact with.

How did you come to work with Buink Web Development?

Our main contact there was previously our employee. We knew he was an honest and reliable source and that his work was of good quality. We had a good working relationship already, and we knew what we were going to get.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent $10,000-$50,000 on their work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on and off with them between June 2013-May 2015. We reach out whenever we have a need, and we refer a lot of business to them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They pay close attention to detail. When we send projects to them, we’re confident that they will come back looking and functioning the way we intend them to. They are careful about checking the work and making sure everything is ready for delivery before they send it back. They’re open with us about timelines and shares information with us. We have a lot of insight into how things are progressing.

How did Buink Web Development perform from a project management standpoint?

During the project, the developers report directly to our project manager. We use tools like Jira to track the project status. As the developers work, our manager sees how things are progressing. They’re an effective extension of our internal team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re honest, they know what they're doing, and they deliver work that meets our requirements. They’re very transparent about timelines and where they are in their process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything they should improve. As long as we give them projects within their wheelhouse, they do a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let them show you their value. They're really trustworthy, and they'll make sure you have a good experience. You can put them on any project you want.
