I’m the CEO of Caddy Time, an app that connects golfers to caddies on golf courses around the world.

What challenge were you trying to address with BuildFire?

I needed someone to help me build a mobile app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BuildFire helped develop a mobile app that enables golfers and caddies to connect as part of its two-sided marketplace functionality.

It’s an Android and iOS-based app, and we’ve contracted them to do maintenance support on a monthly basis going forward. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with Maxwell (Technical Project Manager), Nic (VP of Sales), a developer, and a sales lead.

How did you come to work with BuildFire?

We were looking for someone who’d done a little bit of work in this space, and found that BuildFire had developed an app for someone who was loosely connected to what we were trying to do.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in March 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our measure of success is we now have a POC (Proof of Concept) that’s executing our process properly.

How did BuildFire perform from a project management standpoint?

They perform well from a project management perspective, as they were able to deliver a solid product.

We typically communicate through email and weekly Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have limited experience working with other developers, so what impressed me the most is their relatability. — their team is all business, highly capable, and they have a full approach to the development process.

They’re also very flexible in trying to deliver what we’re trying to accomplish.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If I have to be critical, I would say they could improve on how they deliver bad news and communicate issues with me clearly without dancing around them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise you to be conscious of your time when you’re working with BuildFire, because your time is a valuable asset.

We were looking to create an app that would allow specific groups to communicate and plan together. The chat functionality we had did not meet the needs of our customer. We asked for a chat platform that would allow communication with specific people or groups, that could be encrypted end to end.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The functionality we desired was completed in a timely manner. This has been our experience with all special requests we have made to Buildfire.

Project management was extremely communicative. The expectations were laid out up front and they delivered the functionality earlier than planned.

Buildfire has always been very responsive and helpful. The platform is robust and easy to use and we have had great experiences with their support and professional services.

There is not any areas of improvement that I can come up with.

I’m the marketing manager at Aux Home Services, a plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical service company.

For what projects/services did your company hire BuildFire?

We needed to develop and host a mobile app.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted an attractive, easy-to-use app that would address our clients’ scheduling needs.

How did you select this vendor?

They were the only company I found that was suited to our needs.

BuildFire worked closely with our company to plan how the app would look and operate. Once we agreed on a plan, they developed it and all the features we needed. It took about six weeks to complete.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager and a designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They delivered the app on time, with everything working exactly as we expected it would. It’s easy to use and has an attractive design. We were blown away by the results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Taylor (Account Executive, BuildFire) and Devin (Former Head of Design, BuildFire) were fantastic to work with. We were able to convey our vision through a couple of calls and emails, and there were no snags in the process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have amazing intuition and were able to understand our vision and bring it to life.

No, not that I can think of.
