I’m the marketing director of a fashion company that’s exclusively available online.

What challenge were you trying to address with BSR Digital?

We wanted to increase our online sales. In addition, we wanted the team to manage our Facebook and Google accounts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BSR Digital is currently managing all of our ad placements for Google and Facebook. They serve as our ad buyer and manager: they systematically place ads, and they curate the images that we give them. We move so fast all the time so it’s easier for us to provide them with the creative assets they need for our project.

What is the team composition?

I only work with two people from BSR Digital including Brian (Founder), but there’s a bigger team involved who are finishing our project. 

How did you come to work with BSR Digital?

We found BSR Digital on Upwork. They seemed to have a strong grasp of the social media channels we were targeting. I was also impressed with Brian because he was very personable and he cared about our problems even though we were a small business.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with BSR Digital in January 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve done a really good job, and they’ve matched the goals that we’ve set together. I haven’t had too many disappointments, and I don’t think they’re responsible for normal market fluctuations. BSR Digital gives us hard numbers each week, and they show us analytics to make sure we have a clear picture of where we’ve been and where we’re going. 

How did BSR Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They can be completely independent and hands-off at the same time. They’re also very communicative, and they find the right balance between speaking and listening. We mainly communicate through Slack, and we also meet a couple of times in person weekly. Additionally, Brian is one of the most reachable people I’ve ever worked with in Argentina.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of personal service they’re able to provide has been pretty surprising. I trust what they’re doing is 100% the best that anybody can give us right now. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. I don’t have a bad thing to say about them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be patient and know that they’re constantly working on your project. You can also talk to them daily if you’re a partner who wants to closely collaborate with them.

I’m the head of the mentor operations team at Springboard. We are an online school offering technology boot camps. I led the user acquisition team for three years.

What challenge were you trying to address with BSR Digital?

BSR Digital helped us with our paid efforts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BSR Digital managed our paid platforms, including Google Ads, LinkedIn, and Facebook, and our budget. We worked together to come up with tactics and strategies.

We met on a weekly basis and discussed acquisition costs, not only per platform but also per course. They managed 8–10 of our courses. The team optimized the campaigns by doing A/B tests and providing feedback on what changes we needed to make to the creative and copy. Then, they thought about ways we could do things omnichannel and cross-platform.

We worked with Brian (Founder) and two other members of the BSR Digital team. 

How did you come to work with BSR Digital?

I met Brian in Argentina, where I’m from. We did some work together, and it was good. When I moved to the US, I remembered that Brian and BSR Digital delivered well and had good work quality. I trusted them to work with my American clients because their English and communication skills are very good.

How much have you invested with them?

We were spending between $4,000–$5,000 monthly.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January 2019–January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had pretty clear KPIs per month; we agreed to have a certain number of applications per month per platform. This came down to the number of applicants per course per platform. Also, we looked at the cost per acquisition (CPA). On average, they delivered that each quarter, which was good.

I have highly recommended BSR Digital to other companies that I work with because, as I said, they go above and beyond. They not only do the basics, but they deliver more; it’s in their DNA.

How did BSR Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

They worked on lots of projects and deliverables with us, and they prioritized them correctly. They also asked questions when they had to. If they weren’t going to meet a deadline, they discussed it with us. We communicated through email and Slack. 

We met at least once a week and shared the goals for the week and month. Every other week, they provided a report on all of the metrics, like CPA. Once a month, they strategized for the following month.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to go above and beyond was impressive. I owned an agency before, but what set BSR Digital apart from others was that they go above and beyond; they don’t just do what is expected. Brian brought more opportunities to work on and proposed changes. That was one of the main things I liked about working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were really happy with them. There were some problems with the time difference and lagging communication, but they fixed the issue right away and communicated faster. That wasn’t anything important.

Any advice for potential customers?

The more specific goals, KPIs, and deliverables that you have, the better. This is a  bit of general agency advice, but specifically with BSR Digital, if they have clear objectives, they will deliver.

They provide media buying services. They also give suggestions on the creative side, but their work is centered around providing copywriting services. Overall, BSR Digital’s scope of work focuses on Facebook ads.

I came across BSR Digital when I first got into the digital marketing space. I knew Brian for a while because I started working with them two years ago. I also collaborated with other marketers but ended up working with Brian again.

Our partnership started in February 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

When I started working with BSR Digital, we’ve gotten better results. The most important thing for us has been to at least achieve or go beyond our ROAS. In that regard, the team has enabled us to achieve solid ROAS.

How did BSR Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

BSR Digital has good reporting skills — they’re transparent about how their work impacts us. Above all, they know what they’re talking about.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills and media buying abilities are impressive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We want them to quickly make changes. However, for Facebook Ads, there’s a certain amount of data that are needed before we can make a decision —  so it’s hard to say if they can do this.

Try working with different media buyers and see who goes up on top.

I am the founder/CEO of a consumer products brand, focusing on boxing sporting goods and sportswear for women. We distribute predominantly online direct to consumer, with some gym retail distribution and strategic retail.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire BSR Digital?

We hired BSR Digital to help us diagnose wins and missed opportunities on our ad performance last year on both Facebook/Instagram and Google AdWords. We needed an expert to perform a preliminary audit on both platforms, and then implement a strategy to scale spend based on performance. We also needed this expert to manage our ad budgets and spend accordingly based on performance, as well as provide weekly reporting.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We interviewed at least 8 vendors before settling on BSR Digital. What sold us was specifically their attention to detail, strong communication style and collaboration style. It didn't feel like they were just spending our ad budget for spending's sake - we felt like they actually analyzed what the numbers, audiences, and demographics were telling them.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

They performed a preliminary audit of both Google AdWords and our Facebook/Instagram ads manager to identify opportunities and the things that are working. From there, we regularly collaborate on promotions, ad creative and copy. BSR Digital deploys and manages the ad budgets and ad creative deployments entirely.

They then provide weekly reports, and month end reports. As the client, we adjust budgets based on these reports and they execute accordingly. They also regularly provide recommendations all throughout the month to ensure that we're truly thinking through all the things we can to optimize for ROAS.

What was the team composition?

I worked closely with BSR Digital on ad creative, promos and copy; our Director of Finance and Operations oversees our budget, analytics and data performance.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've seen consistent ROAS month over month that we've worked with BSR Digital, and we've also been able to diagnose issues with our analytics and data capture (i.e. broken pixels, meta tags, etc) that impacted our ability to report accurately as a result of their attention to detail.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We have regular slack and email communications, and schedule meetings on an as needed basis very easily and flexibly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their attention to detail and ability to manage active communications are excellent. They are just genuinely very nice people to work with - at the end of the day, performance is great, in BSR Digital, you can get great results with very nice people to work with and that's a plus.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

Generally speaking, any issues we do have with how requests come in (needs to be via email vs. slack, which is for reactive emergencies or fixes, or scheduling a mtg) or how we communicate, or issues with budgeting, performance, etc. gets addressed very expediently.
