Brilworks Software has been helping us develop a mobile app from scratch; the product is a localization app for transporters.

We've been working with three members of their team.

How did you come to work with  Brilworks Software?

I started working with Brilworks founder as a freelancer about 4 years ago on different projects. When the app project came up, I contacted him to ask about references. He mentioned that he had now founded this company, and they did app development projects as well, and we decided to give it a go. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working on this project in June 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our most important metric has been efficiency and expenses; we used to spend a lot on different developers. The processes for our technical processes were too long, but the app has worked well. Nowadays, I'm saving about $300 per week thanks to their work. In addition to that, we've reached 1,000 downloads for the app.

How did  Brilworks Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate mostly using Skype, and they've been very responsive whenever we’ve had any setbacks to fix them right away. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their responsiveness is outstanding. Another thing is that they have great management of working hours; I’ve never felt like there are any discrepancies between the work delivered and hours billed.

I don't think there's anything they can improve on — everything works well for us.

Some of the work they have done includes the following: 

1. Native Registration/Login:

• Users can enter their email addresses and passwords to register/log in.
• For the first-time user registration, an email will be sent to the user for email authentication.
• The system validates the email for uniqueness before creating the profile.
• The system validates email addresses and passwords against stored credentials.
• Upon successful login, the system redirects the user to the appropriate landing page.
• Error messages should be displayed for invalid login attempts.

2. Item Listing and Management:
   2.1 Item Addition:

• Users can create new item listings with details (title, description, price, etc.).
• The system enforces mandatory fields for item listings.
• Users can upload a minimum of 3 images or 1 video for each item.
• The system validates file types and sizes for uploaded media.

   2.2 Favourites Management:

• Users can add items to their favourites list by swiping right on the item preview.
• Users can view and manage their favourite list.
• Users can remove items from their favourites list.

   2.3 Swipe Functionality:

• Implement the right swipe action to add items to favourites.
• Implement left swipe action to add items to a "Not Interested" list.
• Users can move items to the cart from favourites only.
• Buyer needs to provide shipping details before checkout or he can select
• from the previously ordered shipping address.
• The system updates the user's interaction with the item based on the swipe action.

There were a few more bugs when we are implementing new processes into our development processes. But they were fixed professionally and an improvement is visible.

We worked with Brilworks on several different projects for front-end, back-end, and infra development. We were looking for a provider that we can rely on for end-to-end work and delivery, and we were in bug luck with Brilworks.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We tried a couple of different vendors, and Brilworks we're by far the best. Not just in cost but in their responsibility, reliability, willingness, and of course their uncompromising professionalism.

We had a meeting to kick off the project. For some of the tasks we provided technical characterization and for some, they helped us. We got a close project manager who followed each and every task and made sure to manage not only Brilworks' developers but also us as a client. In a very pleasant and professional way.

We hired Brilworks in order to fix an old application that was developed for us last year and add a few changes and features.

Via reccomendations of people that worked in my company in the past.

After characterization we set up 3 main phases and their goal dates. Brilworks workers were all in to it, very supportive and worked really hard in order to make things happen on time. The main challenge was my knowledge - as an NGO worker, none of my company's employee's had background in managing this kind of a project, including me. Although, Brilworks team handled my lack of knowledge and exprience with plenty of patience and professionalism.

We looked in various freelance platforms for engineers. The processes included interviews and some test tasks. Eventually we chose Brilworks, they seemed professional and communicative.

It is an on going development cycles not a one time project. Brilworks guys are now most of our server and devops team. Our development cycle is a typical kanban process, we get tasks from our product team and process them

The fact that Brilworks is not more than half of our server team and half of our devops team demonstrates the trust that we put in Brilworks
