An insurance brokerage hired BreezeMaxWeb to replicate their old website using WordPress and move it to a different host. The team also provides paid search management for Google and Bing.
BreezeMaxWeb has developed a completely new website for the client. Though they have stretched the initial timeline, the team offers a one-stop-shop solution for the client's other needs. Despite needing improvement on project management, they have also delivered well on the paid searches aspect.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our company specializes in insuring lifestyle toys, including RVs, boats, and cottages. I’m the director of marketing, responsible for all the marketing and communication across the board.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BreezeMaxWeb?
We were very frustrated with our existing web developer and hosting provider and wanted to find a new agency to take over managing the website. We looked to BreezeMaxWeb to replicate the site exactly and move it to another host.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our site had been custom developed by our previous provider. We knew that they weren’t going to give up the code or pass on the site to a new agency, so the initial requirement was for BreezeMaxWeb to replicate it. BreezeMaxWeb is providing WordPress development and paid search management for Google and Bing.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with at least 10 people from BreezeMaxWeb.
How did you come to work with BreezeMaxWeb?
We did an RFP and met with 5–6 agencies before narrowing them down to three choices. BreezeMaxWeb was my first choice since another agency was substantially more expensive. Their team had more flash, but their cost seemed too good to be true. The CEO and another person liked their price point and attractive turnaround time, so they won.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost so far is about $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with BreezeMaxWeb in October 2019. The work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We ended up with a brand new site that looked completely different. Their work is okay and not great since BreezeMaxWeb is one of those agencies that focus on volume. They have a lot of clients and pump out websites very quickly. They promised to pump out a website in 25 days, which none of the other agencies even came close to. I’m more used to 4–5 months as a typical timeframe to develop a website.
How did BreezeMaxWeb perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate mainly by email. They do a good job, but they have some things to work on from a project management and communication standpoint.
There’s no nice way to say it. The project management part was lacking. Their proposal stated that they would deliver in 25 business days, but we tripled, if not quadrupled, that time. We didn’t pay a cent more than what we agreed to, but the project definitely added gray hairs to my face.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The speed that they claim to have achieved in past projects is impressive. Most agencies will not be able to build and put up websites as quickly as BreezeMaxWeb, because of capacity and other reasons. They’re a one-stop shop for other things as well, including SEO and PPC. It’s easy for them to branch out from the initial development, and help the client with other things.
Are there any areas they could improve?
If there’s one glaring hole, it’s project management. They didn’t seem to have a good handle on it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If it’s on the paid search side, I’d tell the client to go for it and work with BreezeMaxWeb. They’re spectacular and really know their stuff there. If it’s a web project, I’d advise being mindful of the team’s project management and building in a buffer into the schedule. Otherwise, there’s going to be a lot of frustrations.
