A mouth-watering fixture in Montreal’s Little Italy, Chez Tousignant delivers chef-driven fast food with classic Québécois flare. Their suppliers, CWB Beverages, were helping them launch a line of artisan sodas that reflected the heritage styling of the Chez Tousignant brand. Partnering with a talented illustrator, Brandlucent developed a visual brand strategy influenced by pattern, hand-drawn design,

art nouveau, clean typography and Wes Anderson colour palettes. The label design, a mix of rustic and refined, vintage and modern, expressed a sense of surprise, joy and anticipation. The centrepiece featured tantalising pencil sketches of each primary ingredient. With a unified visual strategy for their new product line, Chez Tousignant is able to provide an immersive brand experience for patrons.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We feel confident about our new branding and visual identity. We've started to use all the tools they've given us in our marketing, sales and with our human resources and we can already feel that people adhere to this new positionning and relate to it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. Productive meetings ( Karen is very focus and showed a great and precise comprehension of our business and where we want to bing it). Very effective during the meetings, emails exchange, fast delivery of the work and updates.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by how quickly Karen understowad a business that is very different from hers. Very effective and professionnal. I also liked the confidence when we were challenging some of her proposition.

I’m the CEO of RIBA Retail. We provide technical services in terms of data integration for the retail industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brandlucent?

We needed support building brand identity and strategy. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, Brandlucent delivered a package that identified all of the key elements for our brand strategy including mission and value statements. They framed the wording around who we are, what we do, and what we represent.

Then, Brandlucent formulated our brand identity. Their team created a logo, specified brand colors, and designed all of our graphics. They developed our display for any materials we share publicly.

We eventually expanded their scope into a full redesign of our website. From scratch, they built a static Wordpress site including the layout.

Since then, their team has worked on everything from email campaigns to infographics. Brandlucent provides ongoing site maintenance and produces content, such as blogs.

What is the team composition?

We worked mainly with Karen (CEO, Brandlucent). I’m not sure how many teammates built our website.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $10,000–$50,000 throughout our collaboration.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2015, and continue to do so.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After many years of just winging it, Brandlucent focused messaging around our strengths and abilities— this was a big step. Their team helped our marketing capabilities; we’re now able to explain what we do, and the value our work adds to prospective customers as well as members of the industry. They’ve enabled us to be consistent with all of our brand materials and email campaigns. I don’t have quantitative data.

How did Brandlucent perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had no issues. Their team connects through email and phone calls. Brandlucent has been ahead of deadlines on all the projects they’ve worked on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were able to quickly understand our culture and business model. Their team was able to frame what we do in a clear message. Brandlucent delivered in spades.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, no. They’ve never been late or delivered something that wasn’t what we were imagining. I have nothing to offer in terms of constructive feedback.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be available to do the work and spend the time to accomplish goals, especially during the early stages.

How did you select this vendor?

I spent nearly 2 years meeting with a wide range of branding and content providers. Each meeting left me with the same sense that it was their processes rather than my unique values that would set me apart. Until I met Brandlucent. The chemistry was instant. The only thing that mattered was me. The openness to my story was so authentic that it was clear Brandlucent was the best possible choice

My work with Brandlucent started with a massive review of all my processes and marketing strategies. This evolved over time into an accurate distillation of what my brand really was and then how to communicate it to my clients and prospective clients. We also clearly defined my ideal target market and the completely overhauled my product shelf. The Branding spawned a new website and incorporated the latest is marketing technology to target certain market sectors. My work with Brandlucent will continue as my business is constantly evolving thanks to the team at Brandlucent. I am now positioned to be more effective than my competitors in the new age of business.

I worked directly with the founder of Brandlucent a brilliant, creative and dynamic individual. We met weekly for two years. I have also worked with the senior management on the more technical aspects of my business. At all levels not only was the experience amazing and provided me with tremendous growth, but it was a tonne of fun.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since the majority of the branding is now complete, the results have been remarkably instant and measurable. Incredibly positive feedback from all clients and prospects and a significant uptick in revenues.

The back and forth betBrandlucent and Levee Future Planning has been impeccable in every sense. Never once have I felt that a question, request or inquiry of any kind was too much for them to handle. I felt like I was the part of their team throughout the entire process.

In a word. Authenticity. Their ability to capture my specific brand and style has been one of the most empowering experiences of my career.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It is said that “It takes 10 years to become and overnight success”. Given the background and depth of experience that the team at Brandlucent brings to the table, I can say with complete accuracy that the company may be young but the team is well beyond the 10 years in experience and insights and the ability to put that all together.

I’m the CEO of Ayuda Media Systems, a software company that sells a complete suite of applications for out-of-home advertisers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brandlucent?

We’d arrived at our 15th anniversary and wanted to revamp our brand and website. We needed a partner who could update our market positioning.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially just wanted to do a small refresh, but Brandlucent helped us realized that we had a lot of brand components that we needed to update. They helped us change the entire personality of our company, which is something we were excited about. At first, we’d branded our company as a young and rebellious brand, but we’d grown to have over 100 professional clients and realized we needed something that fit our customer base better.

Brandlucent came up with a few ideas and some language we could use to better define the values of our company. From there, they put together a brand guideline, including colors and fonts that would match the new personality. We had them redo the logo, but it wasn’t extensive. They also created business cards, letterhead, digital signage, and other collateral that made us look more professional and gave us a consistent look.

Someone referred them. They asked lots of good questions and understood our technology, so we hired them.
