Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the regional managing director for the Middle East at Jigsaw Global. We provide professional services in terms of consulting and financial solutions implementation. Our department essentially supports the office of the CFO; we help with everything from finance functions to implementation and analytics. Right now, we have around 60 people across South Africa, the UK, and the UAE. I take care of finance functions and digital strategy.
What challenge were you trying to address with BrandHeart Digital Marketing?
Our company is about four years old, and we’ve grown around 100% a year over the last few years. Simply put, our trajectory is quite good. With that in mind, we’ve hired BrandHeart because our previous agency doesn’t fully understand what we’re doing; they also don’t have an integrated approach to marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We need digital marketing services from BrandHeart, so they’ve worked to understand our business, service offerings, and value proposition. They’ve come up with a digital marketing strategy that we’ve applied to LinkedIn, Google Analytics, and our website. These are the dominant platforms for our business. They come with strategies, but we’ve provided context about our business — it’s a collaborative effort. Their resources also provide some SEO services.
BrandHeart has also run Google Ads campaigns for us. The team writes all the copy and helps us redesign our website; they’ve essentially rebuilt our entire website from scratch because we need it to speak about our service offerings in a coherent manner. It also needs to be slick and professional. They’ve given us 3–4 design options, and they’ve brought something new in every design iteration.

I went on LinkedIn and searched digital marketing companies based in South Africa. Our team interviewed a number of companies. Among them, BrandHeart was the best team that understood what we were doing — we decided to hire them from there.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with BrandHeart in March 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our website traffic has increased substantially since the start of our engagement with BrandHeart. We always track website engagement, traffic, clicks, and time spent on-page, and their team has done all the reporting and brand analytics for us. The whole idea behind our campaign is to raise awareness for our brand, so we don’t track CTRs so much. Nonetheless, all of our metrics have doubled or quadrupled on a monthly basis.
How did BrandHeart Digital Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management has been great. They’ve hit all deadlines, and most of the time, they’re the ones waiting for our team.
To communicate, we use Teams, where we have a chat board to help us share content and follow up on questions and topics. They also use Planable as a platform for approving copy and designs before going out on social media.
What did you find most impressive about them?
BrandHeart fundamentally understands our business and business model. This differentiates them from other service providers that create meaningless social media posts and unsubstantiated promotions.
Moreover, they’re fantastic in terms of copywriting. They understand what we’re doing, and if they have a question, they’ll discuss it with us. We guide them from there. Overall, they have no strong financial management background, but they work hard to understand our business. They produce fantastic content with our guidance.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Give BrandHeart some time to properly understand your business and objectives. They don’t know your business as well as you do, and without giving them time to gain that understanding, they can’t help you with your clients.
