Introduce your business and what you do there.
We're a medical advantage plan that services long-term residents in nursing homes. I'm the director of partner development for Maryland and Pennsylvania and I oversee our sales and marketing team for that region.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brand3 Inc.?
We wanted to rebrand. We're a fairly new company and we outsourced to a separate company for our branding and marketing. We decided we wanted a fresh look, which is why we brought Brand3 on.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They collaborated with us. They spoke with our CEO and our senior directors and we told them what our vision was. Then, they presented us with a couple of different options. It included full collateral, with a logo, branding, and web presence.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two people from their team, including a project manager and a creative director.
How did you come to work with Brand3 Inc.?
They had a relationship with our previous vendor. They were already in-talks and onboard with my president before I came on 3-4 years ago.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested $30,000 – $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in January 2017, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It was a very successful rebrand. It was a new, colorful logo and website. The population we serve is a much older generation so we don't get a lot of website traffic. In fact, the website was a requirement but it's not our main sales tool. We were ecstatic about it. We took it to trade shows and the reaction from the customers was very positive and fresh compared to our old logo. We're really satisfied with it.
How did Brand3 Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
We've had a couple of project managers and they've been very responsive. Being a startup, we don't have a lot of resources. Also because of our regulations, we had to change things on a dime and had a quick turnaround. They're very flexible to that. They're always willing to do what it takes to get it done and are very accommodating.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're always willing to do whatever it takes, and I feel like we're their only customer. I love that feeling because they work really well with my marketing coordinator. Every other week we have calls set up just to make sure everything's unpacked. We actually have a tracker with our project manager that helps us keep everything on task. They've really grown with us, too. We started as this small insurance plan and we've grown into five plans and we're opening two more for 2021. They've been with us the entire way.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Sometimes the communication between their project manager and our marketing manager gets a little murky since we're working on so many things, but that's on both sides. Together, they've taken steps to alleviate those issues.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would definitely set expectations from the beginning, with deadlines and tasks that you need to be done. Monthly meetings to make sure everyone's on the same page would be useful, too. We weren't doing those things at first because everyone was so busy, but we realized the importance of being aligned later down the line.
