Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president and CEO of a company that works with leaders in cities around the world to transform the environment, communities, and nations around.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brand Iron?
We wanted to improve our messaging, hoping to penetrate 700 cities over the next decade. To do that, we needed to put a pitch deck together along with some messaging. They were hired to help us on that front.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We spent time engaging with them in our messaging along with storytelling. They often spoke about the importance of telling client stories and sharing in-house experience through our messaging.
When we began putting the pitch deck together, they created a logo and new artwork to assist us in changing our image along with our original messaging. Some of their graphic design work was from scratch, but they also updated a few graphics that we had been using previously. They were also responsible for sourcing photos that added flavor and professionalism to the pitch deck.
What is the team composition?
We work with Michael (CEO) and Bree (Senior Art Director & Videographer).
How did you come to work with Brand Iron?
We found them through a reference. Someone on my staff knew Michael, so we reached out to chat about the project. It looked like he could help us, so we agreed to the collaboration.
How much have you invested with them?
The value of the work we received was around $40,000–$50,000, but Brand Iron did the work pro bono. They're interested in supporting young not-for-profit organizations working for the well-being of communities.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with them from February–September 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve done a fantastic job and have been supportive throughout the process. It was an iterative process, but they worked tirelessly to make sure that we ended up with what we needed. They seemed very interested in the project, desiring to serve us well.
When we started using the logo they provided us, we got very positive feedback about the pleasing, substantive qualities of our new look. People are able to see our story through our logo because Brand Iron incorporated a cornerstone, hands, and city streets into the design. It perfectly describes our mission while performing very well in the professional world.
How did Brand Iron perform from a project management standpoint?
Micheal did well in helping us manage the project. He continually asked me questions about the organization to make the best possible final product. Iterations were always completed in a timely manner, and he would prioritize upcoming deadlines. We communicated through Zoom and phone calls. Prior to going remote, we held a few in-person meetings as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The project required them to understand our company very well, and they did a great job with that. They listened and retained our needs before applying their full-service marketing expertise to our project. I appreciate their ability to take on all aspects of marketing, advertising, branding, and fundraising. We can rely on them across the board, so I don’t have to orchestrate projects with other vendors in the future.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They listen but make sure to clearly articulate your needs and feedback. If I wouldn’t have been assertive and transparent at the beginning of the relationship, the relationship wouldn’t have worked as well.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brand Iron?
We relied on Brand Iron to help us communicate our offering to investors, tenants, and the public.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Brand Iron developed our design elements and messaging. They adhered to this new branding in creating pitch decks, PowerPoint presentations, and collateral for us. Along with developing our new website, they also managed social media marketing campaigns for us.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with around 5 people. My main point of contact has been Michael (Brand Champion & CEO).
How did you come to work with Brand Iron?
They were a referral from my business network in Colorado. Michael was frequently referred to me by several business owners that I know. He has an excellent reputation in the community.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with Brand Iron for two and a half years. We kicked off the engagement around January 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work has received excellent feedback from investor groups, tenants, and board members. They particularly excel at dissecting the language that’s being used for PR purposes. They’re insightful, provide great advice, and do a stellar job of listening to your concerns.
How did Brand Iron perform from a project management standpoint?
Brand Iron does a phenomenal job of following up and keeping you focused. They’re a hands-on team that’s quick to address any issues that come up. They’ve never missed a deadline; usually, they deliver early. We use email, weekly Zoom calls, and in-person visits to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They make a concerted effort to align themselves with your needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It’s a difficult question because they’re such experts in what they do. I’d just encourage them to take heed of our desire to be truly unique and distinct from the business strategies that are typically or usually employed by other companies.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be transparent, because they truly want to help you in every way that they can. They’ll do an excellent job of listening to your needs and producing the content that you need.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO and Founder of a health and wellness company. We take really complex medical and scientific information and distill it down into something practical that folks can utilize to improve their health and help answer their questions.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brand Iron?
Our biggest goal with the project was exposure. We wanted to get our information out there and start to build an overall brand that was respected and identifiable.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their team really helped us to develop a cohesive brand message from top to bottom and then put our information out into the world where folks could potentially use it. We started by designing a logo and color scheme to get the basic elements in place. They advised me on how to structure the website that I was building and did market research on my potential competitors and presented their findings to me as well.
Now, they’re designing PowerPoint templates and newsletter templates, and everything else I could use to incorporate into the day-to-day operation of my business. We’re also doing some SEO and social media marketing including both strategy and content creation. Those efforts, we are ramping up a little more slowly because we are taking the time to really do it organically and build a genuinely respected brand.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with Michael (CEO), and they have devoted anywhere from 1–5 people to my account for various meetings and tasks to make sure that I am getting the level of service I need to be consistently making progress.
How did you come to work with Brand Iron?
My search started with a bunch of different local branding companies in Colorado, which I filtered down based on my general impression of how they would represent my brand. I narrowed it down to a few and interviewed them, including Brand Iron, and they really held up well under the grilling I put them through, so I gained a lot of confidence in them right from the start. After that, it was a relatively easy decision to bring them on.
How much have you invested with them?
The total cost has been about a little under $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around May 2017, and the partnership is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve helped me to establish a presence on social media platforms that I wasn’t leveraging before, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as to grow what I did have. My Instagram following has gained at least 250 followers since I started working with them.
I came in with ideas and that was pretty much it, so they were able to condense all of the information that I was throwing at them and basically condense that down into a really effective action plan that we could move forward on.
They also helped me narrow down my offerings so that rather than being a catch-all company, we were marketed as more of a specialist for a specific set of areas, which helped us to be a lot more impactful as a brand.
How did Brand Iron perform from a project management standpoint?
Their performance on project management is truly exceptional. The whole team is very accessible, including the CEO, and if I ever need anything, I am able to email any of them and get a response, sometimes within an hour but certainly within the business day.
Anytime I ask for something that isn’t clear to them, they immediately reach out and make sure they get enough clarification. They’re very meticulous in listening to the client and making sure they get the whole idea, and they are willing to rework something when you have any other requests during the process.
They’ve also been very accommodating in terms of their pricing structure, understanding that I was building the company from scratch and allowing me to pay as I go or pay for the whole package at once depending on what I wanted.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What really sets this group apart for me is the level of attention that they pay to every client. When you have the CEO of the company concerned enough that they will jump on a call with you or reach out to make sure you’re satisfied with the latest deliverables, it really goes a long in making you feel like a valued customer to their team. They do everything they can to make sure that I’m satisfied at every stage before we move forward.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I honestly haven’t run into anything that gave me pause about working with them. They have been totally transparent and delivered on everything I asked, so I don’t have any complaints.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very open to listening to their experts as they try to draw out from you what the most important piece of your company or your project is. The more open-minded about that you can be about that process, the better they will be able to represent your company in a way you could never have imagined.
If you are someone who wants a very specific product down to a T, make sure that you ten go in with all of those requirements and specifications laid out as clearly as possible so that they can deliver exactly what you’re looking for as well.

Web Development for Temp Staffing Agency
“They customized their process for our company size and type, quickly learning our target demographics.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I handle accounts receivable and marketing tasks for a temp staffing agency that provides staff for general labor markets.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brand Iron?
We initially hired them to help us brand and build a new website for us.
What was the scope of their involvement?
To start the process, they visited our offices and took an in-depth look at our business. There, they asked questions that helped define our mission and focus as a company. That created a sense of clarity and understanding of our company. From there, we were better able to articulate our brand across our website, which they built from scratch. The final site is updatable and has a job board integration, application portal, and payment portal.
The process essentially provided us with a much-needed clarification on our true vision for the company. We were able to share our findings with different branches of the company to align our company message. They delivered the final website as well as presentation templates and other marketing assets. We’ve subsequently reached out to them for marketing help for third-party companies. They’ve guided us through pros and cons of various marketing decisions too.
What is the team composition?
We had 2–3 different point people that represented different parts of the process, like programming and marketing.
How did you come to work with Brand Iron?
We heard about them through other companies in our region. After reaching out to them and four other companies about the work, they were selected. They had great reviews.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $15,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We collaborated from April–October 2017. There were about four months of delay on our end, though.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We tracked activity on our website, which was much better after working with them than it was previously. When we changed some of the content they implemented, hits went down as well. We’ve had them revamp those pieces to regain our activity, and that’s been successful.
How did Brand Iron perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication was great across the board, and they always met deadlines and timelines. The products we received were of great value for our money.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They customized their process for our company size and type, quickly learning our target demographics. That helped them tailor their work to our company.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything. They did a great job.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
We’re a small company without a big marketing budget, and they always kept that in mind. At each point, they were clear about what they could provide while meeting our budget.
Thanks to Brand Iron's development and design prowess, the client secured an exquisite website. The team demonstrated a smooth workflow through timeliness and flexibility. Their dedication and commitment to helping their customers succeed were impressive in the partnership.
