BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and the director of a healthcare company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Bozka Design?

We wanted someone to build a UX/UI design for the health software we were making.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bozka Design went through the lifecycle of our software and user stories with us. They collected requirements and used those to create UX/UI prototypes. They came up with different user personas, which were used to create a sitemap.

I believe they used Adobe Dreamweaver to create all the sitemaps, after which they created UX/UI prototypes using Figma and InVision. It was an iterative process with regular conversations and feedback.

They identified what we were trying to achieve and who our customers were, and built prototypes based on that. We asked them to make a clickable prototype first, and they created the UI design after that.

What is the team composition?

We mainly worked with Nina (Founder & Lead UX Designer) and Maksym (UI/UX Designer).

How did you come to work with Bozka Design?

We found them on Upwork, which we use regularly. We contacted multiple agencies and freelancers, but Bozka Design stood out. We’re software engineers that worked in the field for more than a decade, so we could see that they knew what they were doing.

Nina explained the process involved, and they had experience working with different SaaS companies. We looked at their previous work, and we had a series of interviews with their team.

How much have you invested with them?

The total investment was around $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Bozka Design in February 2020, and we completed everything by April or May.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Bozka Design delivered what we expected, and we’ve received good feedback from people in our domain.

How did Bozka Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They exceeded our expectations. Nina and Maksym did a great job. They came up with very creative solutions based on their experience. We challenged them, and they went over and beyond most of the time.

The team was easy to work with, and at the same time, they challenged our ideas, making us think and visualize more. They also helped with getting feedback from customers.

The process has been very productive, and we’re really satisfied with what they’ve helped us achieve. After the MVP stage, we’ll definitely be using them for the next round of development.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve been engaged with lots of people over the last five years, and we found that Maksym and Nina’s professionalism was very good. They delivered what they said they would, and the project was on time and on budget. Everything was discussed well, and they produced quality work.

The team often went over and beyond what we’d asked for. They gave us reasoning based on their experience. That really stood out.

Bozka Design came up with some clever ideas on how we could create different user permissions, account types, and views. They came up with UX elements that allowed users to switch between different accounts easily.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It was a challenging job, but they did really well. We plan to use them for future iterations. If there’s ever an issue, we can always shout out to Maksym.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Depending on how much experience the customer has, they should go through different phases of the process. Maksym and Nina are well-versed with the different lifecycles of a product, so customers should listen to their advice and go through requirement gathering, story, and validation phases.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

East Coast Product is a software development services company that builds different applications for different companies. I was the CEO there.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BozkaDesign?

We hired BozkaDesign for their design services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Since I don’t specialize in UX and design, their team takes care of all of those needs. Their team handles all of that, directly communicating with clients and ensuring that we have everything we need to deliver the best design.

One of the projects involved designing the entire brand and logo for a blockchain company. They handled everything from choosing colors, designing the logo, and crafting web pages as well. Their team has also designed mobile applications for us. One of them was a crypto wallet for another blockchain company.

What is the team composition?

I believe we’ve worked with 2-4 different people during different projects.

How did you come to work with BozkaDesign?

We chose BozkaDesign after receiving a referral from a friend.

How much have you invested with them?

Throughout the engagement, we’ve invested between $20,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with BozkaDesign started around 2015.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Over time, I’ve worked with BozkaDesign at three different companies. They’re skilled in design and usability. I’ve never received a complaint about their team and work. All my clients are always happy with them.

How did BozkaDesign perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve used several different project management tools, and they’ve been able to adapt to everything we’ve used. The team at BozkaDesign is willing to take on anything that makes the client comfortable.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate their focus on good products rather than just making something that looks nice. They make sure that their work is usable and that’s important in product development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their reach and expansion. Over time, they have grown. When I first started working with them, there were only two or three people, but they now have offices in multiple countries.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Feel free to be open with feedback. They’re receptive to thoughts and opinions, making sure everybody’s happy.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of DevBrother, an IT consultancy, QA, and engineering company. I’m also the founder of CoWorkingClub, a network of coworking spaces in Ukraine.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BozkaDesign?

We often need UI/UX design services for client development projects because we don’t have in-house designers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

One of our projects with BozkaDesign was connected to the art gallery business. We made several websites for a client in Toronto as well as a web application. We collaborated with BozkaDesign for the design of one of those websites.

We’ve also created an analytics platform for cryptocurrency companies, and BozkaDesign built the main layout for it. I’ve worked with them on my personal website as well.

These were our three biggest projects with them, and we’ve had lots of other smaller tasks. Clients have asked us to design specific features of their websites, and we’ve involved BozkaDesign on tasks like these.

What is the team composition?

I’m in contact with Nina (CEO & Lead UX Designer, BozkaDesign), Maksym (UI/UX Designer, BozkaDesign), and Lana (UI/UX Designer, BozkaDesign).

How did you come to work with BozkaDesign?

BozkaDesign’s approach and way of thinking were close to mine, so we started a collaboration. We stopped working with other design agencies after that and work only with them now.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent more than $10,000 on their services so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with BozkaDesign in 2017, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our main success is happy clients. Hearing clients say that they enjoyed working with us and BozkaDesign is the main reason that we continue the collaboration. They helped me with my personal project as well, and I was happy as a client.

How did BozkaDesign perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicate over Skype and email. They usually answer quickly, and we haven’t had any issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nina is very passionate and responsible in her job and always strives to understand the client’s way of thinking. BozkaDesign is a professional team with high-quality services—we don’t want to go to another vendor. They also have a good user testing team, which isn’t a typical service provided by design agencies. They performed user testing for one of my clients, and he was very happy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be better if they gave us a lower price. I don’t have any criticisms about their service, though.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I always recommend them to my clients.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and lead programmer for Edutapps GmbH, a math game.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BozkaDesign?

We’re a team of two and neither of us is experienced with UX design. We created the app and built a good UI but felt that we could take the platform to the next level with additional gamification elements and a better UI. We wanted to improve the retention of users and make the platform a more immersive experience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BozkaDesign redesigned our app and provided us with a wireframe. We started with an onboarding discussion when we went through our list of requirements such as implementing a more visible scoring system. We evaluated the list together and added new ideas. Their team helped plan and think through the process. Basically, we told them to start from scratch and reinvent the platform including the look, image, color scheme, and logo.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Nina (CEO and Lead UX Designer, BozkaDesign) almost exclusively. She managed the UX design with other individuals from her company.

How did you come to work with BozkaDesign?

I’m a member of a big coworking space. We posted our job on the Slack channel with a description of our goals and our product. We talked to Nina and liked her because she studied physics, then went into design, and was interested in the game. She told us her plan and it seemed perfect.

How much have you invested with them?

Up to now, we’ve spent between €4,000–€5,000 (approximately $4,400–$5,600 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in June 2019 and the work’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Basically, the goals we set out to achieve with them have been achieved. We haven’t released the design yet and are in the beta phase right now. We’re getting positive feedback and all the mechanics are working more or less as expected. Of course, we find new problems that we’re resolving with BozkaDesign.

How did BozkaDesign perform from a project management standpoint?

We invited her to our Slack channel where she speaks with the team. My co-founder and I communicate with her regularly. We’re designing the process together. When there’s a problem, we’ve worked to find a solution together. There has been a lot of communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

BozkaDesign’s capable of executing tasks that we’ve set for them to do. Nina doesn’t need any supervision. She’s good at identifying problems and solving the problems we give her. Our communication’s direct and she understand us well. She’s an analytical thinker and doesn’t need much input from us to give us what we want.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s been a pleasure working with her. We haven’t had any issues and the project has turned out as expected.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You’ll get the best benefits by integrating her into your workflow. Be completely open and get her involved with the team. Treat her like your other assets and development members.

The work provided by BozkaDesign has helped their client satisfy countless customers with their products. Their team consistently delivers high-quality designs extremely rapidly, demonstrating depth of understanding in project goals and rigorous methodology in accomplishing them.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director of Digital Dilemma. We are a 10-year-old software development company with five developers and two designers in Australia. We do everything from large enterprise CRP systems to little startup apps and everything in between.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BozkaDesign?

We were looking for bespoke web design skills, and when we first met with BozkaDesign it became quite apparent that they had a lot of skillset in UX/UI. I decided I wanted to be able to tap into that skillset for my own business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When I come to them with an idea, we generally have a half-hour meeting discussing the idea. From there, they’ll go back and start to workshop it a bit, map out the flows and sort of get the structure in place. Then I’ll get a map from them that lays out some of the requirements and initial goals, and once I approve that, they get to work.

Almost all of their work is focused around UI/UX, so they’ll handle the wireframing and all of the user-focused considerations that we need to take into account before we get started. Having that process in the beginning ensures that our work looks professional and clean further down the road.

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Nina (CEO, BozkaDesign), and I work with two of their engineers in particular, but I interface with all levels of their business depending on what stage of the projects we’re at.

How did you come to work with BozkaDesign?

I was looking for some designers at the time, and Nina had done some portfolio work and custom illustrations for games that caught my eye. I reached out to her for animations on a particular project and we hit it off straight away. She really knocked that job out of the park, and that’s how the relationship started.

How much have you invested with them?

We generally pay hourly, but we do a cost estimate at the start of every project, and they are very good at staying within budget. Our total spend with them so far would probably be a little over $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We first started working together around February 2017 and are continuing to work together today.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have any direct metrics because their work is so directly wrapped up in what we’re doing, but I can definitely point to all of my customers who are very satisfied with the work that I deliver through BozkaDesign. Customer satisfaction is fantastic.

Users are always impressed with the design, and that has a lot to do with the flow and thinking that they provide in the planning stages.

How did BozkaDesign perform from a project management standpoint?

We have regular skype meetings, and they will do screen recording on Loom. One of the really nice things about working with them is they knock out work so fast that we only need to have a few management meetings before the whole process is over.

Beyond that, we use a few types of communication software to track our work and kind of have direct feedback to one another while we’re actually working, which has been extremely efficient.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think it’s their clarity of understanding. With a lot of outsourcing work, things tend to get lost in translation at various points in the process. They have absolutely world-class designs. I never feel like they missed something I wanted them to include in the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I really don’t think there’s anything they could improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Prepare as much information as you can about the project. Give them as much context as possible, and they’ll be able to deliver you the best work.

BozkaDesign developed an aesthetically and functionally pleasing design, generating positive feedback for the app’s intuitive UX/UI. The team has exceeded expectations of communication and delivered results with impressive speed. They have a diverse skill set, which ensures continued collaboration.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

HealthWizz’s a platform. One part’s a mobile application and the other part’s a backend. We’re focused on health care, providing tools and the means for consumers to monetize their health data.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BozkaDesign?

We didn’t know where to begin. We had this concept in our mind but communicating that to developers was a task that we had tried in the past to disastrous results. This time, we wanted to have someone visualize the concept with a storyboard and wireframes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Essentially, we articulated our challenge to BozkaDesign who visualized our platform in a wireframe. Their team worked on the UX/UI, design, and the flow, meaning how users would go from one screen to the other. Since this was a consumer-facing mobile application, they needed to make a product that was attractive and easy to use for a wide age range. We created different personas and articulated those to BozkaDesign. Their team came back with interesting, pleasing, and easy to use workflows in the application. After the product was developed, they performed user studies for us.

What is the team composition?

Primarily, we interacted with Nina (CEO, BozkaDesign). She had other people jump in from time to time depending on where we were in the project. We’ve interacted with three or four other people who reported to Nina.

How did you come to work with BozkaDesign?

We wanted to make this application fun and more game-like, unlike other health care applications. BozkaDesign had a background in game design.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since early 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

BozkaDesign had the skills to create a platform with a pleasing look, feel, and flow, which was intuitive. The screen understands a user’s next actions. Everyone who has used the app has walked away saying the platform’s well-designed and easy to use. The product has a professional look and feel as opposed to something a couple of guys designed in their garage. We’re happy with what their team has done for us. Even our head of engineering has said that it was a good idea to partner with them and get the whole design in place before writing the first line of code.

How did BozkaDesign perform from a project management standpoint?

We have nothing but great things to say about how BozkaDesign has managed the project. We’ve communicated over Skype and e-mail. Nina has used InVision, giving me access to work in progress. Our team can leave a comment and BozkaDesign will respond to it. Even without telecommunicating, we’re collaborating constantly. Their responsiveness has been outstanding. In fact, sometimes they wanted to communicate more than we’ve asked them to. The collaboration has worked out really well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have nothing but good things to say about what they have handled the project. BozkaDesign brings many qualities to the table that are different from other companies. They have a good understanding of user preferences. Even though their team has a background in game development, they’re also familiar with health care, which is unique and added value. They’re also good about not just taking what we wanted and running with it. Their team provided suggestions for features we might not have otherwise considered.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Engage with them. Even if you think it might not be something they do for a living, talk to them. BozkaDesign has a lot of different faculties that they can bring to the table.

The client submitted this review online.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder and CEO of an B2B SaaS startup in the Human Resources and Talent Development space.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire BozkaDesign?

We worked with BozkaDesign team on the UI and UX components of our MVP development.

What were your goals for this project?

Leverage BozkaDesign's UI/UX expertise to build a very simple and intuitive MVP that can be completed rapidly and deployed at pilot clients in the US.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Me and my co-founder did an extensive global search online to find very high quality UI/UX designer with a strong track record, significant experience, very high reviews and topic expertise in the B2B enterprise web applications. Through our research we came across Nina and BozkaDesign along with three other vendors from different parts of the world. Our initial conversations and interviews showed that BozkaDesign team had the relevant experience but most importantly the communication skills, the ability to understand the US market and its specific needs and the willingness to go the extra mile and collaborate with us in this effort as a thought partner not just a vendor.

Describe the project in detail.

We started a series of conversations with BozkaDesign team which were around sharing our understanding of the user pain points, unmet needs and potential solutions we were thinking of and that kicked off a brainstorming and thought partnership phase where Nina and team gave us valuable insights in UX to best define what type of solutions we should be building and what the best practices are. The next step was deciding on the brand / look and feel and the visual aspects of the product; for that Nina and team shared a series of inspirational mood boards that helped us decide on the look and feel of the product. The next stage was us sharing our simple sketch version of a prototype and Nina and team taking that and combine with all the UX discussions and moodboard inputs and turning that into a screen by screen high resolution UI prototype that we could comment on and change as we went along. Through a series of rapid iterations a very high definition UI website prototype was ready for our Front End team to start developing.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a senior project manager and design lead along with a junior associate who helped where needed. The Senior person was Nina and she was the one leading the discussions, the design, the thought leadership so we really got to leverage the expertise she brought to the table.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Nina and team was extremely responsive and flexible in terms of just jumping on a video call to go through sketches, ideas and brainstorm which helped speed up the process significantly. They were also very fast in turning around comments and inputs into work output. They always went the extra mile and added their creativity and expertise so even if we didnt discuss a specific point they would come back to us and say "hey as we were working on this we realized this might be a much better solution so here are some options..." that level of commitment and creativity combined with their accessibility and thought partnership really helped put together a superb UI output in no time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely effective, we leveraged Slack and video conferences very frequently and BozkaDesign team were always available, very responsive. Even though there is a significant time zone difference it never felt that way; they made it work and it felt like we were working with a team that were with us in the room the whole time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

1) The commitment to client's need and level of ownership is superb. They were a part of our team and they solved problems with us; it was more than a vendor / client relationship - they were our thought partners along the way and even today we ask questions toss ideas around and they still continue that relationship and level of ownership 2) The speed to output is impressive. Very quick turns on the materials and ability to comment and see it turn into action is amazing. 3) Quality and expertise in the space; bringing new solutions / creative solutions to problems has been tremendously helpful

Are there any areas for improvement?

At the time when we worked with BozkaDesign beyond the UI/UX design we desperately needed some front end development capabilities as well but they were not able to offer that at the time; which felt like a missing piece. But my understanding is that now it they have addressed that and built very strong development capabilities as well so we haven't used that service personally but the only areas for improvement we observed seems to have been resolved anyways.
