Portfolio

Key clients:

We've created content for United Airlines, Kenmore, Digitas, Glidden, Dyson, American Girl, Chase, MetLife, McDonalds, WeWork, Starbucks, PayPal, Hilton, Tempus, TD-Ameritrade, Skywalker Ranch, Walgreens, American Marketing Association, Boston Scientific, Aon Hewitt, American Dental Assoc, Discover Card, Nabisco, Morton Salt, ADIDAS, Chicago Cubs, Centro, The Second City, National Restaurant Association, S.O.S Pads, The First Years, Pabst Brewing Co, and Epsilon to name just a few.

Kenmore Elite Grills Experience 30

Working with Kenmore's in-house agency, IMX Studios, Bottle Rocket Media produced, directed, and edited this lifestyle video around their new grill product.

American Girl - Truly Me

Bottle Rocket Media worked with American Girl’s creative team on a series of videos for their new Truly Me custom American Girl Dolls. Our role on this project included casting, producing, choreography, directing, editing and design work.

The Peninsula Hotel - Z Bar Launch video

Z Bar. The new, luxurious bar at the Peninsula Hotel Chicago needed a lifestyle video to introduce it to the scene. Everything in the space is built around the idea of an adventurous traveler… and they wanted a video about Z Bar should feel the same.

Centro - Homepage Video

We love working with Centro, it’s a super fun company with a great product. We were excited to play a hand in explaining their product, Basis. Their office is stunning so in addition to showing the software at work, we were able to capture some incredible broll to blend into the piece. We opted to film a real computer in action rather than having screengrabs take over the whole screen and we love the end result; a technical

explainer video with a very personalized and human centric feel.

Framed: An Improvised Series "The Clown"

This Chicago-set improvised series goes behind the counter of a custom frame shop, where a parade of customers reveal their troubles, aspirations, and drama in the process of framing their precious art.

Infused with the essence of improv—a symphony of ‘Yes, and”, it is truly a collaboration of talents—Framed has been providing laughs since Claire and Sam pitched the idea to us last fall. And were thrilled and honored

when it was selected to play at NYTVF 2018.

Dyson - Airwrap

Excited is an understatement when we filmed the new Dyson Airwrap. This how-to video instructs the viewer how to use the new tool to straighten and curl their hair. We filmed this model step by step over the course of two days and played around with a creative lighting set up. We were drooling over the end result.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the co-founder of Nicholas Brinley Experiences. We work with large companies to create executive engagement strategies, from high-end dinners for 20, to private concerts for 2,000+ people.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Bottle Rocket Media?

We've worked with Bottle Rocket Media on several video production projects covering some of our larger scale events with Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O'Neal, and Pitbull. We wanted to capture our own content from each of these events and they helped us to do that.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a single promotional video capturing all of our concert-type events to use in support of sales.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We've loved everything Bottle Rocket Media has produced for us in the past. We trust them and know they understand the goals of our brand.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Bottle Rocket Media has gotten to know us over the last year. Before the project began, we met with them to fully debrief the team on what we were looking for. From there, they presented a timeline for the project.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Bottle Rocket Media provided us an initial cut of the video. We provided detailed feedback, both verbally and written. They implemented the edits and presented the final video. If further edits or iterations are ever needed, we will continue this process.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We do not share our footage publicly due to privacy requests from our clients. That being said, we have always received very positive feedback from our clients on the footage. They love having the footage to share.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Bottle Rocket does a great job of communicating with us. They have always stuck to timelines unless we make changes to the project scope, which they've always quickly adapted to.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their entire team is fantastic. They really took their time getting to know us, our company, and our goals. They spend as much time thinking about the emotions we want to evoke through the footage as they do talking through the tactical aspects of the video.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We don't have any complaints. We love working with Bottle Rocket Media on all of our video projects because we know they will more than deliver.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Chief Experience Officer at the American Marketing Association (AMA). The AMA serves 30,000 members, 74 professional chapters, 350+ collegiate chapters. I oversee marketing, innovation and insights, community experience, and live experiences.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Bottle Rocket Media?

We needed a graphics video package for our biggest annual AMA National conference, the Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education. The package would be used for promotions leading up to the conference, as well as in-conference guidance and branding.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a consistent AMA branded experience throughout the conference. It should be clear to attendees where to ask for help and where to find out more information about the conference or about AMA. We also wanted to promote awareness leading up to the conference.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We created an RFP and sent it to several agencies. The final decision was based on quality of work, timing (fast turnaround), and budget. Most important was quality within the budget.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

We created scripts and storyboards together with Bottle Rocket Media. They created a mockup and we went through a few iterations regarding animation timing and design layout. After we approved a final mockup, we sent them content assets (speakers’ names, photos, quotes) for render.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Bottle Rocket Media was flexible in following our production schedule. Unfortunately, the confirmations of speakers were unpredictable. They were able to accommodate a stop-and-go flow of assets and still deliver renders quickly once receiving them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our stakeholders raved about the overall improvement in event experience, of which the video graphics were a part. We had a large lounge area where we played the videos that highlighted upcoming speakers. The lounge was a hit, and we have included a lounge at subsequent events. Our event attendance and Net Promoter Score, which we use to measure event experience value, were higher than the previous year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Bottle Rocket Media was accommodating and flexible. We wouldn't have been able to create the graphics without their flexibility and speed. They were able to take in the big-picture vision, including existing creative designs, and bring our creative vision to life through animation and motion.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Bottle Rocket Media was a perfect partner for high-value and impactful results that fit our budget. They’re a collaborative group that felt like an extension of our creative team. They were able to quickly jump in, understand the vision, and flex with our process and changes to deliver impressive results.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wish we had more budget to hire them again and again. I also wish more agencies had the same approach to their clients. It was a pleasure to work with Bottle Rocket Media.
