The team is a great mix of talented folks who can help with all your web needs, from building out a new website to managing your SEM strategy, cutting social videos, and handling your email marketing—they do it all. On top of that, they are pleasant, smart, and some of them will have you in stitches. Absolutely fun to work with!

Me and the lead PM have an open line of communication via Slack/email. I am able to communicate with the devs and the CTO at any time and the team is responsive to my needs.

Roy is a unicorn and is pretty special and Mari amazing. It is always a pleasure to have them both on a project. Blueshoon hires smart and unique people.

Not their fault but Jira can be a pain sometimes...

I'm the growth marketing manager of a company that sells an in-home fitness solution geared towards weight training.

What challenge were you trying to address with Blueshoon, inc?

The company needed a development team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They essentially manage frontend and backend development for our website, which operates on WordPress and WooCommerce. We have an in-house design team that designs all of our web assets and pages. Once we have design files, we hand them off to Blueshoon which builds the pages.

Their team also handles all of the maintenance to keep the site running. They assist with site optimization and performance. Their team manages all of the site's backend development. They make sure all of our third-party tools and integrations are connected.

How did you come to work with Blueshoon, inc?

My manager had previous experience working with Blueshoon. They were already a partner when I joined the company. I inherited the relationship and have run with it ever since.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired Blueshoon as our development agency in 2018 and our partnership’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve met all of our expectations and exceeded them in some cases. They run a tight ship. Their team’s prompt and on point with all of our requests. They’re able to meet tight deadlines. Their team’s flexible with everything that we’ve asked of them.

How did Blueshoon, inc perform from a project management standpoint?

We manage all of the projects through JIRA, which gives us a lot of insight into all of the different phases of the project and the steps that are taken along the way. There are deadlines associated with the tickets that we submit in JIRA. We also have a Slack channel to keeps tabs on any projects that are in progress.

From a project management standpoint, I don’t see how I could ask for more. I have weekly calls with their team lead to make sure that our existing projects are handled, and any open questions are resolved. That’s when we discuss new projects coming down the pike so their team’s aware of them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their agility and flexibility are their most impressive traits. They can easily tackle a project in little to no time. They’re able to take a step back and grasp what we’re trying to accomplish with a project. Their team puts themselves in my shoes. That helps streamline the process when it comes to designing, building, and reviewing. Their team’s great at owning a project and trying to understand it end to end. There’s minimal back and forth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There could be more communication around their internal timelines. I don’t have much insight into their internal processes. There could be more transparency with the project tracking for my peace of mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish for big and small projects. The more you understand what you want, the better you’ll be able to articulate your vision to Blueshoon. Establish a process and expectations around timing. As long as there are communication and a process, Blueshoon will stick to them.

Authenticity!! Real people who are able to deliver what they promise and what we asked for. They are amazing!

Maybe a bit more understanding of where we are financially during a bigger project. To make sure our budget stays in tact. But that is not a knock. Everything has been great.
