Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the Co-founder and UX Strategy Head at a fintech company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Bluechip Technologies Asia, and what were your goals?

We had to build a solution that enables companies to do sustainability reporting without the need of having the technicalities. It was to be a simple, user friendly product that meets the complex needs of businesses in the ever evolving field of sustainability. We need to collect the right data for Green Financing and utilise Machine Learning with Artificial Intelligence to identify Sustainability Goals for our clients.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found Blue Chips Technologies through our network and after a meeting with them, they were the one able to deliver the solution timely and within the budget.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Initially they designed the dashboard and provided us a base in which to improve the product further. We did the UI/UX portion and have it reviewed by Uditha and his team to determine its feasibility. We had weekly sprints as well as UATs after each sprint to determine if the work completed passed the acceptance criteria. We had constant communication with Uditha and he provided us with the necessary solutions.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Based on the requirements, Uditha and his team were adaptive enough to provide us with the right amount of support that meets our budget. Uditha works closely with us throughout the project and we have weekly sprint meetings to ensure that the project is moving smoothly.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our MVP was launched and that improved our user sign ups by 400%. Although there are more work to be done, we are limited by the state of our budget. Nonetheless, Uditha and his team helped us to create a strong foundation in which to further build our product upon.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

As mentioned, we had weekly sprint meetings and Uditha will bring in the Senior developer in-charge when dealing with a new feature or major issue to be resolved. When there were unforeseen delays, Uditha communicates it to us immediately and we discuss the best solution forward.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were able to scale the support required by our product whenever we need it. That is something I appreciate most from Uditha and his team as no matter how difficult or complex the product was, they found a way to get it done within the budget.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some solutions we require were scrapped when in the process of building them as we hit a major obstacle that ultimately could not be done within the stipulated timeline. I feel that both parties should have better communication to determine if the needs and requirements are communicated accurately across. This prevents misunderstanding on what is expected.
