Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Information Systems Manager at a concrete cutting company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. I handle data integration and business intelligence.
For what projects/services did your company hire Blue Orange Digital?
Our company needed to migrate an on-premise data solution to the cloud and kickstart the implementation of Power BI. In addition, training and support on cloud computing was needed.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to see our data moved to the cloud making it more widely accessible. We also wanted to make sure local resources were up-to-speed on cloud computing and development.
How did you select Blue Orange Digital?
Our first meeting with Blue Orange Digital was at a trade show. From there we requested an SOP on the solutions we needed implemented. After careful review, we chose to work with them based quality, willingness to train on system resources, and price point, which we felt was fair.
Describe the project in detail.
We had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. Within the first few weeks, we received detail plans for the data and systems migration. After a few iterations and discussions, we finalized the overall approach and design. We met on a regular basis to ensure expectations were being met and that we were satisfied with the progress and results.
What was the team composition?
We were assigned a project manager to support us and serve as the main point of contact throughout the project. We also had 2 developers working with us to implement the solution.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
In the end, our data and systems were successfully migrated to the cloud and training on maintaining the solution was provided.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project manager that we were assigned was easy to communicate with and provided us frequent updates. We connected over the phone at least once a week and used Slack for all other communications. Overall, I was impressed by the timelines of the team. We were never caught off guard if a deadline was in jeapardy of not being met, which never happened.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their knowledge, capability and experience in the areas in which we needed support was top notch. We learned so much more than we thought was possible, and we appreciated that they were patient and thoughtful while we came up to speed. We will certainly engage with this company again in the future.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Everything can alwasy be done faster, but we were very satisfied with their work every step of the way. In the end, quality is more important than speed and we ended up with a solution that works and is scalable.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO of a company called Arthur AI. We provide monitoring for AI models to make sure they perform well, can explain what they’re doing, and are not being biased.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blue Orange Digital?
We are a product company and were onboarding some new customers who required new functionality in our offering. We didn’t have enough people on staff to meet their deadlines, so we brought in Blue Orange to augment our work here to deliver those features.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The process started by talking through our needs and then bringing on a couple of people from their staff who had the right skill set and expertise to tackle our project. Our application is used by enterprises and technology companies to look at the way their models are operating, so there’s a lot of different ways to display, view, and interact with that data.
They integrated into our team and worked on the back and frontend of the platform in order to help create some of the features our customers were asking us for in order to get the information that they need.
What is the team composition?
We had two developers who were working directly on the product and then we also coordinated with their CEO and CTO to get everything set up properly for the engagement.
How did you come to work with Blue Orange Digital?
Our initial consideration process looked at a few different companies, including their team whom I knew from a previous employer. The caliber of their work really stood out as exceptional from the rest, so we knew we wanted to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent around $40,000–$50,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in December 2019 and is currently ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The biggest success metric for us was that we were able to deliver on the commitments we made to our customers, and they were incredibly helpful in that process. I was extremely happy with the quality of the work the provided to us, which was all very high-quality.
How did Blue Orange Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
We had really good communication with their CEO and CTO throughout the project via phone and email. They were both very personally committed to making sure that we were successful and made sure that we were constantly staffed with the most qualified resources that we possibly could be to stay on top of all of our milestones for the development.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are truly committed to technical excellence and, beyond simply providing what is required of them, doing everything they can to make your project successful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we were very happy with them overall.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Treat them as a part of your team and they will be very open to collaborating with you.
Blue Orange Digital was easy to communicate with. They adhered to a set timeline and provided frequent updates, which led to all deadlines being met. The concrete cutting company appreciated their patience and thoughtfulness whenever the company had to be brought up to speed.
