Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a partner and owner of Haida Gwaii Glamping Co. We’re a glamorous camping business in British Columbia. We have 6.2 acres, 10 tents — six of which are on the beach and four in the rainforest.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Blue Chip Productions Inc.?

We wanted to get our name out there and post some videos on social media. We’re a startup so we wanted to start with a bang and go to market with some video content.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brainstorming was a collaborative effort. They helped us come up with a tagline: roughing it optional. For the video shoot here in British Columbia, our team members and friends were featured in the footage. We also did a shoot in Vancouver where Blue Chip Productions supplied the crew and actors. They made eight videos and handled all the post-production efforts for that.

I found out about them through a friend of a friend.

We invested around $25,000

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement was from July–August 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The videos are great, and we’ll use them for years. It was a good stepping stone and gave a lot of legitimacy to our business. There was a lot of humor in them, and they received excellent social media engagement.

Blue Chip Productions had amazing ideas and really good energy. They were easy-going and the project was no-stress. We had fun with them, which I think is really important. Their team was organized and knew their stuff.

How did Blue Chip Productions Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was excellent. I could text them at any hour of the day, and they were great about getting back to me. There was a lot of hustle, and it’s clear they worked hard.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d work with them again. We loved their energy. It was rainy and cold, and they lived in a tent with us; they were just fabulous. They roll up their sleeves and get it done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we were grateful for their direction and energy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust that they know their stuff because they do. Their combined experience is through the roof. Trust in the process because it was a lot of fun and the reward outweighed any of the work we had to do. The project was fantastic.
