Introduce your business and what you do there.
The organization is a division of a ministry organization. I serve as VP.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blackhawk Digital Marketing?
We have a limited capacity as it relates to our website management and development. In addition to that, we were looking for solutions that would integrate our marketing objective and the UX on our site.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They audited our website and our digital capacity, both from a technical and UX standpoint. Then they went over that with us and determined that they could help us with a few pressing items. We clarified what we were trying to do and implement new functionality.
After that, we examined our overall customer value journey. Once we did that, we determined that we could take some steps to redevelop our site.
For a time, we went through developing the parameters for that website, working off that customer value journey. We took that opportunity to update branding as well. When we finally launched the site, we launched it as part of that rebranding campaign.
They worked from our old site, which was WordPress, and moved it to an updated version. They included various plugins to make sure we accomplished all of our objective.
We continue to add to the website and create new functionality. We want to increase engagement.
What is the team composition?
We met with two individuals on a weekly basis—Jonathan (Founder & CEO) and Anna (Director of Digital Marketing Customer Acquisition & Digital Analytics). we were able to interface along the way with some development folks and a designer.
How did you come to work with Blackhawk Digital Marketing?
We found them through word of mouth. Someone from another division within our organization knew the problem we were facing and felt that Blackhawk Digital Marketing would be able to help. We ended up visiting with them, as well as several other companies that had been recommended to us. We were on a tight timeframe as so, because of our familiarity with them and the positive conversations we were having, we decided to start working with them immediately.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2019 and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our work with Blackhawk Digital Marketing has helped us better understand what the objectives of our digital presence are. We’ve been able to go ahead and improve our first impression and increase engagement. We’re still on the optimization phase, and I’m fully confident that when we finish up here, we will move forward confidently in all of our marketing activities.
How did Blackhawk Digital Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been upfront about deadlines. If we haven’t met the timetable that we planned, they’ve presented an alternative and more reasonable schedule.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They take the time to understand the objectives of the organization. They’re able to address current issues and projects in real-time. Instead of holding a meeting to determine what to do, they’re able to dig in and provide immediate feedback. They have a range of expertise that goes from the technical to the strategic. It’s very helpful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We’ve already had this conversation and we’re working on it. Really, we’re just trying to make certain that we’re communicating and organizing the time we have with them as efficiently as possible.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s helpful to have already discussed decisions internally. There have been moments when we haven’t discussed out approach internally, and it slowed them down.

I'm the CMO of a Series A SaaS startup in the SMB auto repair space. We have 35 employees and serve thousands of business owners in auto detailing, dent repair, window tint, paint, wheel repair, and more around the world.
For what projects/services did your company hire Blackhawk Digital Marketing?
I joined the company after the Series A and had to build a marketing program from scratch. I knew I wanted to experiment across multiple channels at once and needed help getting it all up and running in a timely manner. I hired Blackhawk to help us build the first iteration of Mobile Tech RX marketing.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to increase the number of new users signing up for free trials in multiple new verticals.
How did you select Blackhawk Digital Marketing?
I interviewed several agencies I had worked with before and several that I hadn't. I selected Blackhawk after a round of meetings.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
They managed paid search, paid social, elements of campaign creative, SEO, copywriting, and budget planning.
What was the team composition?
I worked closely with the CEO and their paid search lead, Graham.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I'm eternally grateful to Blackhawk for helping us get started. They led the way in experimenting for months to figure out the most efficient mix of channels, ad types, and messaging.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective. I was able to ask questions and get feedback quickly. We rarely had issues with communication and they worked faster than any other agency I've worked with.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They're deep experts and understand their place of strength. They were able to help us build incredibly quickly. They managed everything from "start from scratch" campaigns to a global product launch. I had no playbook to follow and needed a partner that could think strategically while building high-quality campaigns. Blackhawk did both very well.
Are there any areas for improvement?
As with all digital agencies, they were better builders than optimizers.
Blackhawk Digital Marketing helped identify digital marketing objectives and identified how they could help achieve them. As a result, they increased online engagement. The team has a range of skills that contributed to the partnerships’ success.
