BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the lead designer of the wood and resin jewelry line Eastwood . All of our pieces are handmade in Austin, where I am an established artist in business since 2002. Eastwood was launched in 2016.

For what projects/services did your company hire Black Apple Marketing?

We worked with Black Apple for two years. They ran our social media marketing and consulted in general on marketing and development.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I met them thru a referral, interviewed them and was impressed with their knowledge of online marketing and sales.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Greg of black Apple initially helped us establish our Shopify store and get that set up and from that point we continued to refine things designing multiple ad campaigns that we ran, grew and developed over two years.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Greg had a team of people though we did not work directly with them but it was clear he had additional staff doing work in the background which was great.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We sold $149,000 worth of jewelry online in 2021. Please note we are a very small operation of 3 to 4 people with most of them working part time except myself . Black Apple helped us grow our customer base to a point where we now have a very successful email marketing program. Thanks to Black Apple we had lots of cash flow, growth and sales

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was good Greg was always attentive to any communications and we had a biweekly zoom call for two years running.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The thing that I really loved about working with Greg was that he really became a part of our team and was very into our growth and very excited about our product and believed in us. Again we are a very small company that is fairly scrappy and Greg was excited about the growth that he helped develop and really felt like a team member rather than just an outside agency that we worked with..

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I honestly don’t have too many critiques. Again we are such a small firm that we did not have a huge marketing budget and Greg was able to work with this even though it was limiting. I’d say in general they are very organized, forward-thinking, and thoughtfully critical of many aspects of our business.
