We wanted a partner who can help us in expanding our development team and work with us on a regular basis. Bizmia was our best choice as they have been providing best development services and the best part is they can scale up and scale down teams based on our requirements and needs.

I am the Director of IT for Fin Fun Mermaid. We are a retail company that specializes in swimmable mermaid tails, swimwear, and pool toys, and other items that help children and adults to live their dreams.

We sell across a wide variety of channels, from our website to retail locations. We also have an ERP that is crucial to helping us make decisions based on data. Bizmia was hired to provide both quality developers that can implement our vision, and consulting resources that can guide us towards current best practices while alerting us of future possibilities.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for a vendor for over 6 months, because we were more concerned with finding the right fit than getting someone working with us immediately. In the process of selection, we spoke with vendors from many different countries and many different business types. The criteria for our selection was:

1. Expertise in the technology stack that we have in production
2. Availability of resources
3. Ability to communicate effectively with our teams 4. Service pricing In each of these criteria, Bizmia was by far the best choice for us.

Our first work orders that we gave to Bizmia were to fix many miscellaneous bugs in our Magento 2 storefront. We submitted many different tasks to the team, but we prioritized them according to business needs.

The very first task that they fixed for us was to correctly display attribute inventory for a complex product detail page on our website.

We have a project manager and a dedicated developer at Bizmia, and they were very thorough and professional in identifying the requirements, estimating the time per task, and communicating progress and issues along the way to completion.

They gave us a high-level overview of how they would proceed, and the deliverables were working code that could be immediately demonstrated, tested, and deployed by our own internal team.

The icing on the cake for us was discovering how truly optimized their processes were for getting things done efficiently.

I directly work with three people at Bizmia: a sales representative, a project manager that facilitates the work and provides consultation, and a lead developer that gives updates and status about the tasks. Each of them is respectful, engaged, competent, and fun. They are the type of people that you can rely on.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As the IT representative for Fin Fun, I provide the requirements for the entire company, but many of those come from other departments (such as marketing or operations).

In each task that I have passed to Bizmia, the originating department has been blown away by how fast Bizmia was able to execute to completion. In particular, marketing has been ecstatic to know that there is now a resource available to help them dream big and be creative.

The very first task that Bizmia completed got me multiple happy emails from the Web Director and Customer Care reps at Fin Fun, and more importantly it eliminated a costly over-allocation rate on a popular bundled product that we sell.

Bizmia uses well-known tools and methodologies, such as GitHub for versioning, JIRA for task management, Microsoft Teams for Remote communications and meetings, and Amazon AWS for fast spin-up of server architecture.

Bizmia’s style of project management is focused effort and streamlined communication, borrowing concepts from Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methods to best suit our needs.

The flexibility that they have, as well as the speed in determining what we really want, is clearly a result of constantly improving their processes after every task that they complete, regardless of the customer.

We have weekly meetings, and they are succinct but sufficient. One thing that has been fantastic is their mechanism for branching code in such a way that multiple tasks can be worked on simultaneously while maintaining functional independence. It makes it a cakewalk if we need to ramp up testing and development.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In my 20+ years as an IT professional, I have worked with many types of developers and vendors.

There is a large skillset spectrum, but one thing that can be frustrating for departments outside of IT is a lack of patience or empathy.

That can (and has) given the IT industry a bad reputation - but Bizmia has done an outstanding job of demonstrating technical excellence without sacrificing emotional intelligence.

They truly seem to enjoy their work- and interacting with them as a customer doesn’t feel like they are grinding through a necessary but annoying burden.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Thus far, the only thing I think they could improve or do different is to market themselves better! If I would have found them in the first week of our search, I could have saved 5 months of effort.

Our original site, built on the Magento platform was looking rather dated and did not enable an exceptional B2B experience. The new site needed to integrate fully with our Salesforce CRM to enable unique user experiences based on our multiple user groups, from content visibility to ordering capability to onboarding and training new team members.

We evaluated several developer partners for the project and felt that Bizmia was the right fit for us - the right skill-set, the right team with the right attitude.

• Upgrade of existing RTI Magento Open Source to Magento Commerce
• Existing Theme will be followed and upgraded per 2.4.0 compatibility
• Upgrade Technology Stack (PHP 7.4.x, Mysql8.0, ES 7.6.x)
• Upgrade Magento 2.3.0 to 2.4.0 - Replace BrainTree with new Magento Core Module
• Install and Configure compatible versions of currently used 9 Third-Party Modules
• Upgrade existing 36 Custom Modules for 2.4.0 compatibility

DELIVERY METHODOLOGY

• 3-Week Sprints were executed to develop and test a set of tasks.
• Development was completed by dedicated Bizmia offshore resources
• Iterative QA planning and testing cycles were performed in parallel to development for completed tasks and fix issues.
• RTI shared feedback on the incremental deployed sprints.
• During the fourth Sprint, RTI started the SIT for the upgraded site and report issues.
• 2 weeks UAT will be performed by RTI business users for the wholesale site backed up with Bizmia standby UAT support.
• After successful UAT, the upgraded site was deployed on live server in go-live process.

The Bizmia leadership team was directly involved. We had regular contact with the two team leads below them, representing the work of several other team members.

The response to the new website has been outstanding. Our customers appreciate the enhanced usability and the enhanced Salesforce integration is enabling a more personalized experience.

We held weekly project meetings and used Jira for reporting and managing specific items. The Bizmia team was excellent at communicating progress, challenges and decisions, input, the content they needed from us to keep the project on track.

Apart from the Bizmia team's output, their positive and polite can-do attitude was a constant breath of fresh air. They were excellent instructors for the client-supplied items - mostly copy and graphics - that needed to format into the Magento platform.

I cannot recommend anything they could have done better.

The new website looks and performs great! the traffic increased which resulted in more revenue generation and ROI. Our management was extremely satisfied with their work and we continued working with them.

Project management was terrific and were engaged with our internal team through every step of the way throughout the entire project. Communication was generally through emails, Slack and Jira.

Their knowledge, experience and their passion to do things in a right methodological manner was impressive. They also provided much needed thought leadership and presented many innovative ideas along the way which we benefited from.

Possibility with more visibility on real-time updates when tasks are completed ahead of schedule.

In our Kickoff meeting we defined the strategy of what the e-store would look like i.e. UI/UX draft and wire frames. We had two iterations of the UI/UX and Bizmia's team were cognizant of our need for customer engagement and keeping the look and feel simple yet classy.

we had a remarkable shift in our online traffic and with the single page checkout and Mobile friendly interface we were able to increase our sales by 10% compared to our previous website.

Our current development team came with a hefty price tag being all domestic development. We were looking for a more cost effective team that could do ongoing maintenance and development for our Shopify websites.

Bizmia reached out and we had a discussion around process and pricing. They completed a test project for us and their work and communication was excellent.

The traffic on the site has dramatically increased since the sites were developed.
