Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the manager of TrustMedRx. We provide supplies to diabetic patients.


What challenge were you trying to address with BitersCode?

We needed a Shopify website with custom features and visuals to appeal to our customers. 


What was the scope of their involvement?

Our target market is patients suffering from diabetes and its more serious side effects, like blindness and limb loss. Our website needed a custom grid to display our products that would be easier for customers with visual impairments to read. It needed a payment system set up for subscriptions to specific products.

BitersCode designed and built a Shopify site with these features. It saves users’ addresses and credit card information to facilitate subscriptions and billing. They designed a table of “buy now” buttons and pricing information that they integrated into our product listings in three different sizes. The team also created an FAQ section with accordion-like dropdowns. It answers about 15 of our customers’ most common questions.

How did you come to work with BitersCode?

We initially reached out to Shopify because we weren’t familiar with the process. They recommended a few developers to us, but those providers were out of our price range. We then googled for Shopify developers and reached out to several over a vendor website. BitersCode was the only one who responded to our inquiry with answers to our questions. That showed that they listened to us.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $1,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted six weeks—from August until September 2019.


What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re seeing more sales already and fewer phone calls related to questions that our FAQ answers. That’s allowed us to save time and increase production.

How did BitersCode perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through email and chat. I’ve only had to get on the phone with them once to explain a concept that got lost in translation. Otherwise, we had a great collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Whenever I sent BitersCode a message, I’d hear from them almost immediately.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they really had it together. They gave quick responses and kept us in the loop about their progress, sending screenshots of what they’re doing and asking if they needed to go in another direction. I never had to wait for more than 3–5 business days to hear back from them.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be as clear and detailed as possible when describing what you’re looking for. That made the project really cost-effective for us; we never had to go back and forth, wasting a lot of time and money, to figure out what we needed.
