I’m a project engineer for a company that leases trailers and containers. We also fabricate different modular units in the industry and sell them to our customers. I handle the day-to-day and long-term projects to enhance the infrastructure at my company.

We had managed services provider (MSP) before, but they couldn’t keep up with our growth and multiple acquisitions. We decided to source a new MSP.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants provides us with managed IT services. Our previous MSP handed over the documents and onboarding process. We’re still uploading Bit by Bit Computer Consultants' documentation to their document management platform. They’ve streamlined our infrastructure, network, usernames, passwords, and ISP documents.

They’ve installed SentinelOne on our machines and have CASE on their machines for remote help. They’ve also taken over our Veeam for our server backup. We’re looking to spin up another project where we decommission some of our servers and go full cloud.

We’ve recently touched base with their cybersecurity team, especially regarding email security and phishing tracking. They’ll deploy a phishing campaign in the near future and provide training through their platform.

We primarily receive off-site services from them. So far, our engagement has expanded, and it will continue to expand. We have a third-party vendor that handles our ERP, and Bit by Bit Computer Consultants will start interfacing with them more and supporting our users with installs and other processes related to the ERP solution.

Additionally,  Bit by Bit Computer Consultants is working on a VoIP project. We have a new phone routing system in Microsoft Teams, and we're using their VoIP team to implement it.

We work with seven teammates from  Bit by Bit Computer Consultants, including a customer success manager, project engineers, help desk staff, a help desk manager, a VP of the help desk, and a sales team for licensing.

I had worked with Bit by Bit Computer Consultants in a previous role a few years back and had a good experience. At that company, the team reached out to my manager. We decided to see if they were still taking on clients. They were, so we onboarded them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen faster ticket resolution, and more tickets are getting resolved for sure. Previously, our users didn’t have to submit tickets, but now it’s required. They’re actually calling or emailing the help desk, and someone picks up the tickets. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants has also done a fantastic job documenting our network and providing access to it. Overall, the team meets my expectations.

How did Bit by Bit Computer Consultants perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet our deadlines and stay on budget. They’re very accommodating and work with us. Initially, we had weekly meetings, which we now do biweekly. We also still have weekly meetings for about 30 minutes to an hour. We have a Microsoft Teams chat for urgent inquiries and open email communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants’ communication is impressive. They’re always willing to do better. They take their CSAT and customer satisfaction very seriously. It’s always nice to have someone who actually cares and sees you as a partner.

No, they’ve been on par with accommodating our requests.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants has done a complete overhaul and assessment of our entire network. We’ve taken on a bunch of new projects to modernize all of our IT infrastructure, hardware, and software. They’ve guided us through every step of the way.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants also provides us with a 24/7 help desk, which has been a phenomenal resource for all of our employees to have one place to contact for any IT issues.

We’re a hybrid firm, meaning we’re not fully remote, but we’re also not fully on-site. We knew we had to upgrade all of our hardware. We had a lot of old computers, random desktops, and laptops that weren’t really tied to anything. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants came in, assessed everything, and rolled out brand-new laptops to every employee in the firm. They’re all 100% secure and tied back to Microsoft Intune and fully managed.

We’ve done a full cybersecurity assessment, and we’re rolling out zero trust and all sorts of app protections and locking down the ability to access any corporate data and email.

I generally deal with a core group of around six teammates from Bit by Bit Computer Consultants. However, I’ve dealt with 20–30 different people, including all the help desk technicians. I’m generally in contact with Dara. Underneath her is Eileen, who is my secondary go-to person if I have any issues with tickets or need things escalated.

Any time we undertake a major IT project or overhaul, there’s a project manager, a team leader, and the technicians doing the work. All of those teammates are very much in touch with us.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants came highly recommended. They were also connected to a friend of a partner in our law firm. When we interviewed them, we were very impressed with the depth of their IT knowledge and the number of services they could provide to support us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve definitely seen a major increase in ticket resolution. Things are resolved very quickly. Having the ticketing system has been a vast improvement in our productivity. We have biweekly calls with Bit by Bit Computer Consultants to go over all prior tickets and figure out strategies on how to mitigate those tickets going forward.

They’re not just about seeing the tickets and getting the initial IT issue resolved. They also come up with solutions to avoid having that problem in the future, which is very proactive and has been a huge help for us. Overall, I'm extremely happy with them. I've also gotten reviews from top-level executives and mid-level associates. They constantly come to me to say that Bit by Bit Computer Consultants is great.

Coordinating between my staff and their team, it is often difficult to be responsive to challenges in a timely manner while also coordinating the various schedules of staff members.  I would recomend implementing a meeting scheduling system to allow Bit by BIt to schedule time with staff members for efficient resolution of open tickets.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants provides IT and cloud consulting services. They take care of things that are a little over my head, such as ensuring that we have backups every night and helping me deal with network-related issues. The team has also helped me with our network printers and other various tasks to ensure that the college runs smoothly from an IT perspective.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants has recommended configurations for a couple of servers we’ve purchased. They’ve also helped us switch to a more effective Wi-Fi system and install fiber connections throughout the campus. Currently, they’re working on a project to better secure some of our equipment so that it’s not easily accessible and is less affected by the Texas temperatures.

Additionally, they’re in charge of our cybersecurity solutions. They help with our annual IT audit. The team provides penetration testing and follow-up training as needed. They mostly provide remote services, but they can come on-site if I need them to.
They've added software called Casaa to access our machines and used Portnet, a firewall they've installed for us.

I work with four teammates from Bit by Bit Computer Consultants. Robert, their president, is in charge of the Arlington office. Their director of operations is the coordinator. He points me to the right person when I need help. The senior systems engineer helps me with Microsoft-specific things. The IT support specialist responds when I have a problem.

How did you come to work with Bit by Bit Computer Consultants?

I met Robert at a Chamber of Commerce event. I introduced Bit by Bit Computer Consultants to the school before the COVID-19 pandemic. At that point, I was the dean of business, and we knew we needed more help than I could provide because I was busy being the dean of business. We hired them. We've reviewed their contract every couple of years, and they're very competitive as far as pricing goes. 

Then, I left the school because they couldn’t afford to pay me. I was gone for 3–5 years and came back a little over a year ago. I came back as the director of IT, and I’m no longer going to teach any classes because our IT needs have become a little more than they were a long time ago.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants’ ticket resolution is very rapid. They’ve helped us increase the effectiveness of our Wi-Fi. As a result of COVID-19, we received an influx of money, and they put fiber connections throughout the campus, which has made a great difference.

Regarding how they handle technical issues, they can point me in the right direction, and I can help a whole lot. If I can't, there's somebody here within their offices, which are only 20 minutes away at the most.

It’s my job to ensure they stay within the budget. Occasionally, Robert proposes something and puts other stuff in the proposal that we don’t want or care about. He has services that we don’t use, and he encourages us to use them. Sometimes I have to say no more than once, but that’s okay.

We have a ticket system that we use. I put a ticket in, and if it’s critical, I get a call within 10 minutes after putting the ticket in if they need any explanation. We communicate via that ticket system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants meets our performance and service quality expectations. They’re doing fine.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid to get into the nitty-gritty because they know how to handle that. Also, don’t be afraid to say no if there’s something you don’t want. They don’t get upset; they just say okay.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants provides managed IT services and cybersecurity support. The team helps us with annual screenings, tests, and various webinars that our staff has to do regarding cybersecurity. The team also manages important accounts in our business, especially with respect to Microsoft.

Initially, we worked with them for months to get switched over to their service. Our previous IT provider wasn't letting us exit our contract. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants helped guide us out of that process to take over our IT services. We organized a hardware ship-out to Bit by Bit Computer Consultants for them to ensure our computers were wiped clean, that their programming was online, and that we didn't have our old provider's hardware still on our computers. 

From there, we started from scratch with the team. Once we were onboarded, Bit by Bit Computer Consultants assigned us a team, including an account manager.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants provides a combination of on-site and remote support. We're a fully remote company, so we don't require on-site support, but the team offers it. If anybody has a problem with their hardware, they head to the team's office, drop the computer off, and pick it up later.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I measure Bit by Bit Computer Consultants' success compared to other IT providers who weren't quick at addressing issues and tickets submitted. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants has a good system for sending forward any issues to their ticketing system. The team has a much faster response time than any company I've worked with previously by days. 

The team is generally very helpful, whether the task is directly in their purview or not. They're more than happy to help me with an app I'm managing on my side. They're very wide-ranging in terms of their support. Overall, they've met my expectations. With any new partner, it's important to learn the growing pains of working with each other, and Bit by Bit Computer Consultants is very smart, capable, and willing to work with us.

How did Bit by Bit Computer Consultants perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very accessible during the process of taking over our IT. We're both based in New York, and the process took a long time, but they met with us weekly or sometimes more often to iron out the next steps and figure out how to jump through various hurdles together. The onboarding team was always available and extremely nice. It was easy to get set up with them; the only challenge was the other provider we were trying to escape.

The team delivers the work on time and within budget, and communicates well with us. We have a ticket system based on email. We email them to let them know what's going on, and the ticket will automatically be generated. The Bit by Bit Computer Consultants calls us, and we email back and forth. The team ensures they do monthly check-ins on Microsoft Teams to meet with me and the director of finance and ensure there's nothing lingering.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is lovely to work with. They're understanding and willing to "choose your own adventure" with us. They're not rigid; they're flexible, which makes working with them much easier than with a large-scale corporate company, which tends to have less flexibility. Although Bit by Bit Computer Consultants does have protocols, they're willing to look at each customer differently based on what they do, which has been a big plus for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish Bit by Bit Computer Consultants had a better phone system. Sometimes calling in can be a little bit difficult.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You're in pretty good hands with the onboarding team. Make sure to collect all of their onboarding documents as early as possible so you have the most time to fill them out and give them as much information as possible from the get-go.

I'm the data center manager for a bank. I manage the data center and liaise with our London and Saudi Arabia offices. Our London office supports our infrastructure, and I work with them on any issues.

We work with a federal system, and our London office transfers money into their account. We did the transfers via phone, but the federal system wanted us to do them online. They gave us a deadline of December 2024, so we needed help with the migration project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants has helped us with a migration project. The federal system told us the hardware we needed to buy, and we initially had a call with Bit by Bit Computer Consultants' operations teammates and our infrastructure team in London. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants ordered the switches we needed. 

Once we had the VPNs in place, we also had to configure the firewalls. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants worked with our London office to configure everything. The senior network manager configured the firewalls, and if anything went wrong, I would call them. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants provides us with maintenance.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants is very professional and qualified. My London infrastructure has had no issues with them, and they work closely with my team there. Our team uses Bit by Bit Computer Consultants for any new project that deals with firewalls.

How did Bit by Bit Computer Consultants perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very professional and good at project management. If I have any questions, I can email them, and they'll get back to me very quickly. When we set up meetings, we try to work around our staff to have minimal downtime.

During this project, we met every Monday via Microsoft Teams. There were 1–4 people from Bit by Bit Computer Consultants and several people from my bank. We did this every Monday until about a month or a month and a half ago, when the network was working. 

Currently, we're in the testing mode with our bank. Bit by Bit Computer Consultants is available if we have any issues. For example, last week, we couldn't connect to the portal. Our London office looked at it, and then the senior network manager dialed in and looked at it.

I want to give a shout-out to the senior network manager. He's been very helpful in this and past projects. I also want to give kudos to Robert, who's our account representative. I go to him with any project, and he lets us know if the team can undertake it and whether they're available. I've been working with him for years, and he's very good.

We had a different IT manager before but weren’t satisfied with the previous vendor due to their lack of response. We wanted to improve performance, so we needed a vendor to enhance our IT support and manage all kinds of technological services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants focuses on IT management services and consultation; we have a different cybersecurity vendor.

Initially, we just wanted to try them, but then the COVID-19 pandemic occurred. For a couple of years, all the IT support became remote because everybody was at home. After the pandemic, Bit by Bit Computer Consultants came to our office whenever we requested it.

We recently underwent a moving project. We moved from our old location to a new office, and they handled all the layout for the new space. They outlined how we’d run the wires and set up the technology infrastructure. Then, they came almost daily to help us during the three-month project.

How did you come to work with Bit by Bit Computer Consultants?

I searched on Google and found them. They served small-sized companies and were in New York City, so I made a cold call to the owner in 2019. The owner introduced us to their team, and we liked each other. Then, we got on board right before the COVID-19 pandemic.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay them a $14,000 monthly fee, so we spend about $150,000 annually. In total, we’ve spent north of $500,000.

We began working with them in November 2019, and they’re still our current vendor.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our prior vendor wasn’t great, so every employee was satisfied with Bit by Bit Computer Consultants’ service after the switch. Their response is fast, and they try to catch issues preemptively to minimize our downtime.

They also provided excellent service during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we were very happy with the transition. Overall, we’re very satisfied.

How did Bit by Bit Computer Consultants perform from a project management standpoint?

They always deliver within budget. Their talent is securing a better quote than a typical vendor without sacrificing productivity; it’s very impressive.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants has a general support email. Whenever we email or call their support number, their ticketing system logs a ticket. Then, an email is sent to an employee. We don’t use the ticketing system; we can make requests, and someone enters the ticket for us. The system checks all the cases, and then we wait for someone to be available to serve us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve improved over the years. For example, they’ve dedicated more resources to our firm since we onboarded. Initially, we had an IT person, but now there are at least 5–6 people on the team. This is not only because we pay them more but because the relationship has been growing.

Bit by Bit Computer Consultants is integrated with our business. For example, we used to house an on-premise server. As we’ve built our trust, we’ve decided to move our server to their data center, so now they host all of our infrastructure.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everybody’s doing a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We highly recommend them to any client looking for IT management services. I’d give them my referral without a doubt.
