I am the national manager for innovation and technical services at Flick Anticimex, one of Australia’s leading pest control and hygiene companies with over 95 years of reliable, safe, and professional service. We have a presence in 17 countries and, with our 4,000 employees, we serve about 2.5 million customers. We offer tailor-made pest management and hygiene solutions for all major market sectors, including: food manufacturing, retail, commercial property management, warehouse & industrial, logistics, hospitals, aged care, education, government, defense establishments, the mining industry, telecommunications, financial institutions, and the aviation and maritime sectors.

We hired Binaryfolks to develop highly customized ERP, CRM, and mobile app modules for our field support staff. 

What were your goals for this project?

A large group of licensed field inspectors manages the massive number of indoor and outdoor inspections we conduct for retail and enterprise customers. The inspection process is manually intensive and generally takes several days due to the substantial amount of information required for collection, reporting, and analysis. The goal of this project was to design and implement a field inspection app that would help our inspectors solve and automate field inspections, minimize manual errors, and reduce the delivery timeline without compromising quality or reliability.

I first heard about Binaryfolks through a colleague of mine who had worked with them to develop an online e-commerce store. He was pleasantly surprised by the performance and quality of the work, so it was his recommendation that directed me to Binaryfolks. We were so impressed with them that we never even considered other vendors.

Following considerable research and brainstorming sessions, then an intense development phase, Binaryfolks built a mobile solution with an elaborate backend infrastructure. The solution addressed the extensive time required to execute inspections and formulate reports. The mobile apps now allow our inspectors to input data directly; draw electronic diagrams in a bespoke specialized drawing tool; capture digital photos; take digital signatures; and more, all online. This data is then automatically transmitted to the backend infrastructure, which has all the automated built-in logic necessary to analyze and process the data and format attractive PDF reports and certificates.

They also developed a SaaS-based command and control center that allows us to monitor the in-depth health of our mobile fleet, manage the process at any level, generate proactive notifications about problems, execute commands, and manage software and application upgrades, all remotely. In addition, they built a real estate auxiliary services management portal and automated our purchase order management and invoicing systems.

We had a single point of contact throughout the project. In addition to the three frontend developers, backend developers, and solution architect, the team itself was often augmented with supplementary developers in the event of a tight schedule or if domain-specific expertise was required.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The mobile apps reduced the inspection process time from four days to two hours and have virtually eliminated manual errors.

More broadly, the fact that we've been working with Binaryfolks consistently for such a long period of time on many of our largest and most business-critical projects speaks volumes. Not only do they write top-quality code, but they also dedicate an extraordinary amount of time to understanding the project and our needs in detail before we ever begin. They then offer impressive questions, suggestions, and ideas regarding the most ideal way to approach the problem. Moreover, they never balk at a challenge, which is largely why they have become our primary service provider for technology platform development. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Along with their technical capabilities, their project management and communication methods are well ahead of many of the other big vendors we have worked with, which is a rare and surprising combination. They keep us informed and current on project progress at every stage with regular video updates and periodic Google Hangout or Skype sessions.

They are already available via e-mail nearly 24/7, but they proactively arrange around-the-clock developers and support staff for production issues or serious bugs that could be potential problems, working nights and weekends until the issue is resolved. They put forth the effort necessary in terms of both quality and time to make sure all deadlines are met, and their deeply vested interest in our success makes them feel more like an extended part of our engineering team than just a paid outside vendor.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Binaryfolks has been outstanding at managing multiple projects at once, providing unmatched flexibility, agility, and scalability. They are responsible for our mobile app and our property search system, as well as five different applications, all of which need to adapt and improve with our ever-evolving product portfolio and business expansion.

They are also fluent in English with the willingness to go the extra mile in order to understand exactly what the customer wants. They grasp the project requirements quickly through interactive discussions and by explaining the up- and downsides to every idea and potential structure we want to build.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Though their team is very qualified and technically sound, the project pipeline can be somewhat lengthy; our projects must be planned well in advance. Other than this, I am quite satisfied with everything Binaryfolks has done for us, and I have no immediate suggestions.

They’re developing our online review management platform that features ad campaign management, review monitoring, sentiment analysis, and response management. Unfortunately, those are all the details I can divulge at this moment.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business? 

Though we haven’t gone live yet, Binaryfolks has cracked many tough problems we weren’t aware of when the project began. We’re preparing to launch the platform, and they’ve delivered everything they agreed to. Our overall experience has been good so far.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It’s been excellent. Initially, they held long calls to flesh out our project requirements. Then, they prepared a business requirement document. Nothing was assumed or left open to interpretation. We communicate regularly through email and video calls, and they’re flexible in making minor adjustments.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Instead of simply asking us for instructions, they step up and work with us to build requirements and milestones and deliver them on time and budget. This extends to tasks we bring to them. If they think they have a better idea, they’ll let us know, and we’ll work on it together. Their competitors don’t have their dedication.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not really. Whenever we have an issue, they do whatever possible to fix it immediately.

I’m the president of a leading web-based wine merchant. We have a 43,000-square-foot retail center in California that offers premium and collectible wines and professional storage services to our global customer base.

We wanted to automate our marketing process, sending targeted offers to our premium customers to increase conversions rates and capture more customer wallet share. We were also looking to reduce the internal resources dedicated to these efforts.

What were your goals for this project?

Before this project, we manually sent tons of email marketing messages each week. Our salespeople were responsible for selecting wines to offer, authoring the email, mining the customer list, scheduling and sending the offer, and handling the responses. It was very time consuming, so we really needed to automate the process to improve our internal operations.

We posted our chatbot project on some job exchange websites and requested that vendors submit their proposals. We received several responses and set up a meeting with each candidate. After a few conversations with BinaryFolks, we were confident that they understood our project requirements and were capable of delivering. They finished that specific application, and we were so impressed with the work that we decided to expand the engagement to include additional projects.

First, BinaryFolks developed a chatbot to improve our outreach efforts. Our clients can use the function to create their own customized interactive chatbot that meets their requirements without having any coding background.

Then, they used data mining techniques to help us determine the ideal profile of a premium customer. We send targeted email batches to those customer groups. BinaryFolks helped us formulate a highly intricate strategy that optimizes our sales volume while making sure we don’t over-communicate with our clients. They continue to support us in these efforts.

We have a single point of contact. There are also front- and backed developers involved at all times. Whenever we’re on a tight schedule or the work requires specific expertise, they’ll bring in additional staff. On occasion, I speak with the CEO who is a phenomenal and customer-focused resource.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They wrote high-quality code that translated into a great product. We started working with the BinaryFolks team in 2016, but we still go back to them anytime we need assistance with development. Our commitment to their team speaks to the quality of their work and services. They’re an eager and enthusiastic team with great client rapport. Their flexible and collaborative approach to the partnership enhanced our business quickly and cost-effectively, and we didn’t have to invest in an in-house team.

They knew exactly what they were doing. Their team challenged us to think about our vision and our end goals for the collaboration. Using our provided framework, BinaryFolks prepared a project flow document that identified any gaps in our idea. They were active communicators, sharing their progress and asking questions regularly. At each milestone, they provided a detailed video that recapped their work.

Now in the support phase, the team remains responsive and available. They put in extra time and effort to make sure their work is correct and meets all of our needs. The BinaryFolks team is robust and technically sound. They’re always looking for ways to improve their processes. So far, their work has proved the success of their committed, adaptable, and dynamic approach to each project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

BinaryFolks takes full responsibility for their work. They are personally invested in the success of our project. When it comes to working with SaaS-based software, their expertise is unparalleled. Their entire team is excellent.

I most appreciate their willingness to adapt to our processes rather than having us adapt to theirs. This speaks to their flexibility and professionalism. Once we successfully completed one project with them, they became our automatic choice for anything related to software development. Commitment, communication, and trust are three of their biggest strengths.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We never had problems with project management, but a process-oriented company may need to set formal tools in place to track the workflow.

I am the CEO of Nordic Mobility AS. Our company focuses on helping businesses with enterprise mobility, MDM [mobile device management] and wireless networks. We provide cloud services, management services, consulting services, project management and app development.

We hired BinaryFolks to build an OS manager for specialized mobile devices used by our enterprise clients across the country.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to develop an OS manager application that enables enterprise users of specialized android devices to update their OS with a reasonable degree of checks and automation. These devices are a variant of Android OS and don’t have Google Mobile Services to update their OS like normal Android public users have.

How did you select this vendor?

We faced a huge challenge when most of the previous companies we went to couldn’t even make the prototype work for us. We posted a project spec on some job exchange sites and I vetted a few companies for this project. BinaryFolks conducted the requirement gathering phase so well, and enriched the process with their valuable suggestions, that after the initial few meetings, it was clear that they had the best vision for our project. Their reliability and technical knowledge stood out amongst others. BinaryFolks communicated very well and responded quickly when we had questions, which ultimately helped us make the decision to go with them.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

BinaryFolks built an application on top of EMDK [enterprise mobility development kit] that runs in the background to identify if there is an update available for the OS. Once the file is detected, the OS manager automatically checks the battery percentage and the device sends a notification to the user stating that there is an update available. Depending on user feedback, it either initiates the update or schedules the update for later. Aside from upgrades, the application also helps downgrade the OS if the user wishes to do so.

We had a dedicated project manager and then worked with front– and back–end developers, and a solution architect. Depending on specific need or domain specific knowledge, they brought in additional experts.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Previous vendors were struggling to get a prototype up and running, so I think BinaryFolks helped remove a major roadblock for our business expansion.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

They provided all deliverables on time, accommodated small scope changes, and were responsive to issues over the course of the development process. Customer service is especially noteworthy. They communicate effectively and provide more than mere development; they offer proactive suggestions for improvement.

There were never any communication issues. The team sent out video updates after completion of every milestone, and they used screen sharing and emails to collaborate effectively.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

EMDK was a relatively new platform for BinaryFolks. Not only did they pick it up very quickly, but they also achieved good command over the platform and were able to build advanced functionality on top of it. They are highly competent individuals who are experts in their field and can share their knowledge. They’re an extension of my team. They go out of their way to help improve the application and create the best solutions for my business.

BinaryFolks is very flexible and easy to work with. If I had an idea in mind, they would carefully think through the upsides and downsides, from my business point of view, and suggest any improvements in the flow. They met our needs, appreciated our vision, and brought our goals to life. They've taken our inputs and incorporated them in a way which made sense, but also pushed back when it was necessary. Also, they are constantly upgrading their technical skills. This empowers them to stand out from their competition.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

I didn’t feel like we were lagging at any point. BinaryFolks exceeded our expectations.
