Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the owner of a digital marketing agency.
For what projects/services did your company hire Big Gorilla Design?
We engaged Big Gorilla Design to design a website and logo on behalf of a third-party client—a startup tech company.Â
What were your goals for this project?
We needed a modern-looking website and a fresh logo that stood out from competitive firms.
How did you select this vendor?
We interviewed 5–6 companies for this project, including Big Gorilla Design, which came to us via referral. We chose their team based on their innovative approach, energy, and knowledgeable team.
Describe the project in detail.
We first talked with Big Gorilla Design about the client’s goals. Their team hosted a creative session to explore ideas together. After working on the initial branding, they developed and finalized a logo. At the same time, Big Gorilla Design mapped out the site and created wireframes. Once we have our feedback, those wireframes turned into webpage designs that influenced the site’s development. We provided comments at every stage.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a few developers and a frontend designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The client was so satisfied with the logo and website that they brought on Big Gorilla Design to lead a video and advertising campaign. Both projects delivered a clear ROI and received compliments from stakeholders.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project ran smoothly without issue. Big Gorilla Design was highly responsive from start to finish. They were highly personable, professional, and easy to work with.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The team demonstrated talent, creativity, and knowledge of best practices. They researched the client’s industry thoroughly, helping ensure the project’s success.Â
Are there any areas for improvement?
At one point, a developer’s leave of absence caused a slight delay. However, Big Gorilla Design told us right away and assigned a temporary developer who caught up quickly. We’re overall pleased with the collaboration.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the owner of a restaurant and nightclub.
For what projects/services did your company hire Big Gorilla Design?
I brought them on to handle web design and maintenance, graphic design, marketing, advertisement, and SEO. They’ve redesigned my website twice and been with me through various incarnations of my company.
What were your goals for this project?
On the latest web design, we wanted to rebrand ourselves with a fresh look, simplify the site, and develop direct communication with customers.
How did you select this vendor?
A business acquaintance referred them to us. I immediately liked them and we developed a good rapport. They've been a great team to work with, and we will continue to do so. Their prices are fair and reasonable.
Describe the project in detail.
We began by discussing ideas and laying out our goals. Moving quickly, we devised a list of pages and determined a flow for how they would work. Then, they delivered sketches of the site and designed it.
What was the team composition?
I worked with 5–6 people from their side. I mainly deal with their principles because of our history, but I’ve also worked with a project manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I've worked with Big Gorilla Design for six years, and I can't imagine working with another company. I receive constant compliments on the event posters they produce, and my profits keep growing. It’s been a big success.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They were responsive and organized and used a specific management tool.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They were excited about taking my business and site in a new direction. They're also more knowledgeable, talented, and honest than other firms I’ve worked with.
Positive and creative, working with them is an all-around good experience. Their knowledge and experience allow them to suggest unique ideas without being overbearing. I don’t have to hold their hand, but they also don’t force me to go in their chosen direction.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, not that I’ve seen. I’ve requested changes and they’ve made them. We’re very happy with our relationship.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner of a veterinary practice. We are new, just getting started.
For what projects/services did your company hire Big Gorilla Design?
We hired Big Gorilla Design to work with us on our branding and our website design. They are doing our branding, including our logo, our web design, photography, they wrote a lot of our website content, and once our website launches, we are planning to continue to use them for our marketing.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We wanted a company that was creative, able to think out of the box and that could give us a unique look and feel - and really could help build our veterinary brand into something that was a little funky, fun and compassionate at the same time. We had seen the work they did with another veterinary company in Austin and we loved their website and branding, so we went with them. The price was right too.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We met with them, the initial meetings were via Zoom, and we spoke a lot about our company, our goals, who we were, how we were different. They also had us fill out a brand questionnaire. There was a bit of initial get to know you. They then began creating mood boards, putting together color palettes, picking out fonts & typography. From there, they came up with logo designs.
For the website, they did a sitemap initially. We went back and forth on this a bit. They then did wireframes and prototypes, which was great, because we got a real visual idea of the site. They were creating the initial build of the site as well during this time. We just saw the first draft of the site and are completely thrilled. We're in the process of making some changes and then will launch it. But we have been super happy with this team and all the great work they've done for us.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We corresponded mainly with Monica, the owner, but there were a few different team members at various meetings.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Everything was organized, professional. From our perspective, everything has been hugely successful. We really love what they've done.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was great. They would even remind me of things when I needed to get back to them about it.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They certainly have a lot of knowledge and are very professional. They also have a great design sense and are really good at taking your vision, building it into so much more than you could ever have imagined. We loved the freshness and creativity too.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not for us. We've been really pleased overall.

Physician, Owner
For what projects/services did your company hire Big Gorilla Design, and what were your goals?
SEO. We wanted to grow our practice.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We interviewed a few companies in NY. We had heard there were some benefits to working with companies in Austin, including talent and value. We reached out to a few companies there after doing some online research. Big Gorilla Design was one of the companies we contacted. We liked their approach and they seemed straightforward, which was refreshing. We didn't feel as if we were being sold. H experiences in the past.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.
We work on a month to month basis. Our original contract was for 6 months. We saw things were progressing and wanted to continue.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have two people working with us.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We've seen a lot of improvement. We get good response and they also help with some other marketing efforts. I am not too technical, I don't analyze things. We see the improvement. That works for me.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We communicate mostly over email. They're very responsive and timely. They always respond to me the same day.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their honesty. It was refreshing. They seemed to have true insight & they work hard. You feel like they're on your side, not just taking your money.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No, we're satisfied.
