El Mercado is a retail supermarket that sells all kinds of consumer products and daily needs. We aim to provide prompt customer service to satisfy our customers.

To serve our customers better, we need to do fast retail billings, provide quick information, manage our purchases and inventory properly, and do proper sales analysis to understand customer trends and to have a good topline from our business. To do all these, we need a good ERP system, which was offered by Bassam Infotech.

What were your goals for this engagement?

Proper Sales Analysis, Good and Fast Retail Billing, Prompt Purchase and Inventory Control, Accurate Costing, Ability to make promotions easily, Customer Loyalty Programs

How did you select Bassam Infotech LLP?

We understand that Bassam Infotech does Odoo ERP Implementation and I understand that Odoo is one of the best solutions for retails businesses. We then took the references from Bassam Infotech to understand their approach and effectiveness from their previous implementations. We got very good responses from their existing customers and we also understand that the solution is cost-effective and thus, we awarded the project to Bassam. Infotech

Describe the engagement in detail.

We met with them and explained our expectations. Their approach was very professional. First, they had a good requirement meeting with us and understood our requirements and expectations. They provided us the best price based on our needs. After confirmation from our side, they prepared the requirement document and shared it with us to make us understand what we are going to get from the new system. Upon our acceptance, they set up the system and provided us a testing environment and we tested and found the solution acceptable. Then, they did the final setup on our server and delivered the complete solution. Also, they uploaded the Item Master for us, which made our lives easier. Otherwise, we would have spent a lot of time creating masters. Also, they gave COA as per industry standards.

Describe their billing or cost structure.

Being a small project and value less than 10K USD, their payment terms were very simple. 50% advance and 50% upon our acceptance.

What was the team composition?

The team was led by a project manager, requirement analyst, a couple of developers, a tester, and an implementation consultant.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We were very satisfied with the professional approach of Bassam infotech and we would like to recommend them for any retail implementations.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team was very co-operative and their business knowledge on retail business was good and thus we didn't face any difficulties to make them understand on our expectations.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Good Business Knowledge. Helpful People. Effective Implementation Approach. Prompt response on queries and support calls.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As of now, they are a perfect team and with a professional approach.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

We have implemented an ERP solution earlier and the ERP vendor was not able to deliver the solution as per our need. This make us search for a good Odoo Partner who has good track record in terms of delivery and ERP experience which ended with Bassam Infotech

How did Bassam Infotech LLP address the challenges that arose?

They are having very experienced staffs on their team. Their proper communication, planning, and testing ensure that development problems are addressed.

We were able to reduce the data entry mistakes and access the data from anywhere.

How was project management handled?

We have documented our requirements accordingly they have customized the software

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

It was nice that we could talk directly with Bassam Infotech team members.

In what specific areas can they improve?

In terms of reports delivery, rather delivering the specific reports which clients are asking, Bassam Infotech should proactively design and develop more reports which might be useful to Customers in their industry.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

While Implementing ERP for your enterprise while engaging with Bassam Infotech you don’t need to provide information on what solution you need, instead you can just set your expectation to Bassam Infotech and leave the solution to Bassam Infotech. Bassam Infotech will deliver you the perfect solution for meeting your requirements

We were able to reduce the data entries and easy to access the datas from any were.

We used to communicate with them through emails and calls. We also login the bugs in redmine.Com. They dont used to mmeet the deadline. They are very bad at that.

It was nice that we could talk directly with Bassam Infotech LLP's team members.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Yes, they should need a good knowledge of the client company for example ours is a manufacturiing company and the depth of knowledge they have about a manufacturing company is piteous.

I’m an authorized partner at Middle East IT Systems, an IT solutions provider. We do system integration, take orders, and try to develop it on our own. For larger projects, we sometimes outsource the work. We’re resellers of various platforms like ERP solutions and mobile app development.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bassam Infotech LLP?

We needed help with an ERP project during COVID-19. We were replacing an existing Microsoft Dynamics ERP and we had to incorporate all the same functionalities into our proposed solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The requirements collection was all online and they’ve helped with the complete ERP solution, helping us replace Microsoft Dynamics. They’ve used Odoo and built different modules for HR, financing, procurement, and more. 

What is the team composition?

We had one project manager and four developers, but I didn’t interact with all of them. My main point of contact was the project manager.

How did you come to work with Bassam Infotech LLP?

We found them by a stroke of luck — we were Googling different Odoo ERP implementation partners. We came across their website and they were also mentioned on the Odoo website. We had discussions with 3–4 companies but we found that Bassam Infotech’s response and service was much superior to their competitors.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $23,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

For the ERP, we worked together from March–August 2020. We’ve worked with them on two projects; we still have an ongoing second project outside of the ERP work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For the ERP project, the team was very knowledgeable and they provided enough resources. The ERP was successful. The project went well due to their technical expertise. The client was happy — we’re awaiting any further customization and work from them because it was all done successfully.

How did Bassam Infotech LLP perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly review meetings with a project status report. They finished on time, which is quite unique considering the COVID-19 situation and that we couldn’t have much face-to-face interaction. 

There was a business manual for each module and the process owner had to give a sign-off that all this development was done. They gave us the sign-off for each and every module. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very quick with their responses. They didn’t take weeks like other companies I’ve experienced. They try to finish each of their tasks as early as possible. They were quite flexible, even if we asked for minor changes in their work. They were a great company to work with, that’s why we’re working with them for our second project. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They don’t have a dedicated mobile application team, but it’d be nice if they did since one of our scopes is for a mobile application. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You don’t have to keep searching or have second thoughts about using Bassam Infotech LLP as a solution partner. They’ll do good work.

In order for them to do their job, they’ll provide a lot of queries to the client and you have to be prompt in your services, as well. If we don’t provide the right answers to their questions, it’s not good for either party. They’ll do the development based on your responses and your feedback.
